Just a footnote to the Outdoor World growable, I have one - the one pictured above - in a city with much high wealth commercial stuff and with a population of nearly 100K. Still only the one and I did try to cheat by increasing demand for CS$$$. I have removed the cheat now but despite zoning the correct sizes using CTRL other CS$$$ lots have grown before this so as SG says it is VERY difficult to grow.

First off I just want to let you know that you're doing a great job!
 
The main reason for me posting here is because I seem to have a missing texture (two actually) and I can't seem to figure out where I've missed something.  The first texture I'm missing has a texture ID of 0x252b2000 and it's a base texture for your growable Colonial Bat.  This just so happens to be my VERY favorite Bat of yours, and I've never gotten it to grow!  After months and months, I finally looked in the lot editor and I realized I had a problem.  Perhaps finding this texture will fix that (or maybe not, who knows...).  I'm also missing a texture from the Colonial model home (GREAT idea, btw...  I'd plop it all over, if I only had the texture!  And I considered simply replacing the texture with another, but then I wouldn't have the custom query... and I like that 19.gif).  That texture ID is 0x251c3000.  I don't know how I missed the texture, as I have all of the mega prop/texture downloads (and I had all of the single packs before the big ones were put out) but I figured I'd better come to the source to find the answers!

Do you have any idea why those wouldn't be showing up for me?  Is there a known conflict with any other files?

Any suggestions...?  because, like I said, the Colonial is my absolute favorite Bat that you've made... and it borders on my absolute fave!

Well, I deleted my previous version and redownloaded a new version of the Colonials...  so my problem is a problem no more!

I like this UPS Hub idea, but my opinion I think FEDEX is better.

Another thought, we've got public telephones, we've got public parking, what about a 'mail' box for a corner&nbsp; a simple 1x1 lot like the telephones or such, where you drop off your mail.. not sure about what stats could&nbsp; be on it .. And Theme Parks ... we are in severe lack of things like Sea World, Six Flags, Busch Gardens, Worlds of Fun, .... something to this affect ... maybe make it replace the tourist trap? Haha as I type and read this thread everyone in the house is&nbsp; chiming in on ideas ..... so until they run out of them I'll&nbsp; keep giving y'all ideas... And how about maybe, a park like in NY, and some of the other big cities, where they sit and play chess.... there's usually a crowd that gathers to watch the masters and grandmasters play.   ok ok, I'll wrap this up, I don't expect all or any of these things, but just thought I'd drop some ideas in the direction of the talented artists of Simtroplis.... ok the couple of requests was supposed to be humor... appearently missed, I did include some pictures yes, but if you read the whole post you'd see the whole thing was not demanding or anything else.. it was supposed to be light and comical ... my apologies if it was taken wrong ... what I did post pictures of was building/lot ideas that were somewhat unigue in stucture and composition ... as I've noticed SG thinks somewhat like I do.... and if you notice I said ... I didn't Expect any or all of them ... which meant they were ideas not really requests ...

I'm not an artist with graphics, but I know what it's like to be on the other end of trying to come up with ideas sometimes (writer here), sorry if this post was taken the wrong way.

Even so, this isn't a request thread, or even an idea thread.  If SG ASKS for ideas, it's one thing, but he's managed quite well to figure out the things he wants to do, and there is a specific thread for requests.

 
In the future, if you want a particular BATter to do a specific building, it might be better to PM them and ask, as opposed to simply posting in their building thread...

    I don't mind the requests, but honestly I rarely make them these days.  I make buildings that either :

    1) Fill a need in game that I find while playing myself
     
    2) Just spark an interest when I see them and I can't help myself.
     
    Right now I have been playing with some Civic buildings, ie: Museums and a court house.  They are just a test concept at this stage though a couple museums are ready to go.  I have a small pile of lots for release in October, during our annual Oktoberfest.  At least one lot a day from a BSC member; thought on most days there will be 2 or more.  3.gif
     
    And as to the corrupted files, you'll need to contact the site admin about that.  I suspect it will have something to do with your firewall settings, as I have heard that mentioned from time to time.  Some firewall programs won't allow the STEX downloads through.

    @ SimGoober: I fear I have a pretty hard nut for you to crack. It's about the 'RLS Berwick' Homes. To be precise, about the 5x4 lot. To be absolutely precise, about one building version of the Berwick that can appear on this lot. It shows perfectly from one perspective, but it shows as a brown box from all other three camera angles! 42.gif
    All other variations on the 5x4 lot work perfectly, all the individual buildings on 2x3 lots work perfectly, too. I will post some screenies when I'm back from work. This is really one of the strangest problems I've ever encountered... 47.gif

    T Wrecks, you and me both.  This particular problem has been driving me nuts for over a month.  I have nailed it down to the prop versions of the homes, but cannot for anything figure out why it is occuring.  It is very random, and unpredictable. It happened to me several times in a row, and now I haven't seen it for several weeks, though that lot grows frequently.  I doubt I've actually fixed it, as I haven't changed anything yet...2.gif

     
    I've also had it show up twice on the same lot, so I know it's the props.  I had not noticed, however, that it is confined to three views; that means it might be a problem with the model itself, but then again it never does it on the other lots, which all use the models as buildings.  Very perplexing.
     
    I, and a few other BSC members, are keeping an eye on it, trying to figure it out.  Our best working theory is that there is another prop family by someone else that is conflicting with it, but I'm beginnning to doubt that.

    Oh, that sounds extremely annoying and complicated. Well, at least I don't have to feel like an idiot now because I screwed up with something absolutely obvious.

    Once I'm here, I might add that in a test city I'm using to get together my final plugins folder, I was astonished to see your Suburban Office Park grow on a 6x6 low-density commercial lot. I had hoped for a shopping mall to get me some 200-300 CS$$ jobs, and what did I get? A CO$$ complex with 750 jobs! A nice surprise, albeit maybe a bit excessive, especially bearing in mind that I was at a pretty low stage (4 or 5) and no other commercial buildings were even half as big. I just modded the 6x6 lot to grow on medium and high density only. The other lots are not affected; they don't grow on low density. Now I'm not sure if this 6x6 thing was intended... 41.gif

    I've noticed many of your lots are ploppable *and* growable; if I don't want the ploppable version, is there a way to delete it without causing irrepairable harm to my game?  Thanks for the info.

    There are two different .lot files when you download SG's lots, if they have a growable and a plopable.  The growable ones will be the ones with something like this:

     
    R$$4_2x2_SG_Cottages01..........etc
     
    The R stands for Residential
    The $$ stands for medium wealth
    The 4 stands for a stage 4 lot (this number varies from 1-7, with the lower numbers growing first)
     
    The 2x2 means it will ONLY grow on a 2x2 plot of land, so if you want it to grow, then you need to zone 2x2 squares.
     
    SG stands for SimGoober
    Cottages are the name of the lot. 
     
     
     
    Plopables have different conventions... but they tend to JUST have the name of the lot (or if they have the wealth and lot size, then many creators will have the word PLOP in one set of .lot files

    first i want to thank you SG for the awesome products you put out.  i am fairly new to the STEX and i have recently started downloading BATs to enhance my city.  everything that youve put out that ive downloaded has been fantastic, except there are a few lots that i cannot query.  Restaurant Row and Tractor Supply are the two that come to mind right away.  am i missing a dependency somewhere that makes me unable to query (and thus make historical) these two lots?  any help would be much appreciated.  thank you

    Yep, you'll need the most current version of the BSC Essentials File.  I updated my queries a month or so ago; my newest releases use a slightly different version which will actually make clear whether or not a lot is Commercial Services or Commercial Offices.  Only applies to lots released in the last few weeks.
