Those old style mom and pop shops are just awesome....I check the STEX often to see if you've started to upload any.....too impatient but I can't stress how badly I need these.

I do ask a tiny favor if at all possible. PLEASE make them both plop and grow. The way I am doing my downtown I need plop. It would kill me to not be able to use these.

The Wall to Wall old style shops will take a while.  I want to have a good set of them, so there is less repeatition.  I find an idea, make a few variations, and wee how they look in game.  Then I scrap that one and start over... lol..

Ok, I have a problem. First: I couple of weeks ago. I downloaded lots of your buildings.Then I got my computer repaired, so I started downloading your buildings again, but the textures wont work! Simgoober, I love Cracker Barrel.  It's been my all-time favorite restaurant ever since I discovered their french toast.  Do you think you could do one for the STEX?  SC4 could use a little more old country touch.

Cracker Barrel.  hmm.. honestly, I have had this one in mind for quite some time, so I decided to start it this morning.  I got the front facade done; overall this is actaully a fairly simple design, so it won't take much to do.  I'll be busy the rest of the day, so maybe later this week I can finish it off.

Here's a RW pic, and my start on it.  I shrunk the awning back some, so you can actually see something from the SC4 perspective.  If it comes out like RW, you'ld only see that...

Hey SimGoober!

First of all, I'd like to thank you for the cool schools you BATted.

However, on a German forum someone mentioned that he plopped a Goober Elementary in his city and had less than 250 students, whereas with a normal elementary school (plopped at exactly the same spot) he had over 2,000. I guess that the different coverage radius (600 vs. 680) is not sufficient to explain so large a difference.

So I dug into the stats in search for something that might explain the problem. I didn't really find anything, but I found that the values for the School Effectiveness vs. Average Age property of your elementary school exactly match those of a Maxis High School. Is this intentional, or did something get mixed up?

Simgoober, I have a request (sorry if this is in the wrong thread), I moved to Florida from PA and I miss somethings from home, so I was wondering I you could make a WAWA with gas station, they have great subs, and cheap gas. If it could be TE too that would be cool.

T Wrecks, nice catch!  I had copied the origonal exemplar from another custom school I had, which seemed to be working well, but after looking at both of them, they were really set up as high schools!  Sort of anyhow... kind of a weird morph of the two.

I have updated my lots on my system, and will test them for a day or two, then update the package on the STEX.  My main concern is what will happen to lots already plopped in a city.. don't want any crashes!

I know what you mean... as long as changes remain limited to capacity, costs and other stuff, there's no problem. However, when you change occupant groups and stuff, problems might occur.

Since in this case you don't need to change occupant group or purpose properties, but only some values inside the School Effectiveness vs. Average Age property, I don't expect any problems.

Still, better safe than sorry, I guess.

Good thing I won't have to d/l again - instead I'll just change those values myself. After modding my entire plugins folder, some properties more or less don't really make a difference.

Alright, a Bass Pro Shop!! That looks amazing! I think it's a good idea you scaled it down, because they are massive in RL. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it started in Springfield, MO? If so, I go there once a year, and it is twice the size of their average ones(if not more), and they host major events. I believe President Bush visited there to campaign in 04'. Anyway, that looks amazing, great detail!

Indeed, BassPro's are gigorneemous monsters and the 2nd largest one is now the anchor of the Harrisburg Mall. If I ever get to updating my Harrisburg CJ, this would make an interesting focal point. I agree with deadwoods, that is gorgeous texturing.

just for the record there are no really nice Burger Kings on the STEX, it has yet to be done, I worked at one for years and nothing on the STEX looks that close to one. ( unless I've missed it in my searches, if so please please show me!)
