Hey SG,
I think your Hilton Hotel on the STEX may be your very best hotel you've made so far! Just one thought, I thought the Hilton logo sign was supposed to be blue instead of red. But anyways, it's looking very nice.

Whenever they show a Hilton hotel on TV, the logo is always in red.

A little off topic but I thought this was funny. My Sims love SimGoober and he is taking over my city.

I had this business district and decided to put an airport next to it. After I plopped the airport 9, count em 9 Simgoober DoubleTree Hotels start building. Now my city can host a major sports event or be a conference center.  Keep up the awsome work SimGoober!!!

Well, a few different things posted today.  I have been working on some props, parks and trails with my BSC team members for a while, and they are finally ready.  Be sure to check out the custom query on them, as it gives a lot of very useful information.

 

I was planning on making the Hilton my lot number 50 next week, but I'm not sure it will be done in time.  So I think I'll upload something else I've kept on a back burner.  Anybody need a caffeine fix?

@Swamper : Thanks a bunch!  The Reds motel wouldn't have a van, maybe a beatup old staion wagon, but not a van...lol...

 

Glad everyone likes the parks.  I'll continue work on the Hilton this week, and post some shots.  I'm currently working on the indoor pool, behind glass in the back.  It's coming along....

i love your buildings, but how do you get them to light up at night, i put all the files in the plugins folder but they do not light up at night and i also downloaded all the correct texture files from your notes, i am confussed, thank you...Tyler

it made me download the entire gmax BAT, so i just use the buildings and add light to them, there is not a file in the buildings downloads that i can use to make them light up at night? Sorry for all the questions, Tyler

I also agree with Casper, I was just thinking myself tonight that it would be good to have some different gas stations...At the moment Deadwood has a monopoly on gas in my region with his dp servo set..

I've got several ideas up my sleeve.  No gas stations though; just too many things to do.  I'll stick to a couple  more hotels, and I have some more park ideas.  Beginning work on a Botanical Gardens reward, though it will be a long term project. Lots of new custom props and such.

 

And the Bat Update is basically and update to the game, to get it to see BAT creations correctly.  Make sure you have the most current update to the game, and everything should light up.  The upgrade can be finicky; some people have had trouble getting it to download.

It will be about 90% origonal.  I've been getting deas from the local one (Norfolk, VA), but the general design and layout is coming out of my head.  I did a little work on a Rose garden.  Here's a preview of what that part looks like.

The roses are all custom.  I've got several more to work on, and I anticipate this taking a few more weeks.

 

The Hilton is also coming along.  I hit a minor stumbling block though; the building will be too big for a 6x6 lot, so there won't be a growable on this one.  Bits and pieces fit together every day or so, as I find inspiration.  Now that it's commited to a plop only, maybe a 7x7 or 8x8, I am looking at different ideas for the grounds, and parts that would have stuck out further.  I'll play a little more for a few days, and post an update.

I got a little distracted this week by the hotel I am staying in.  I'm in the Carribean, and it was raining for two nights, so I played with the BAT.  Rain, rain, go away!

 

Anyways, I loosely based this on the Hilton I am in, but it looks like a Days Inn to me.  The first floor I'm not happy with, but otherwise I like it.  I'll tweak it some more on my flight home, try to add some dimension to that first floor...

Looks good, however I agree with the first floor.  I don't know what you're familiar with, but perhaps you could add some sort of restaurant entrance on that level.  I know we have a Holiday Inn here with a Kansas City Steakhouse in the first floor accessible from the outside.

 

edit:  Also, perhaps some sort of extended awning over the main entrance for the passenger/luggage loading/unloading area.  That might require some custom textures though.

That sure does look like a Days Inn. Theres one not that far from me that looks just like that.
