About This File
This file contains several lots which enhance the gaming experience with airports. They were inspired by joerg's airport set, and two files owe their existence to Marrast's overpass set. I would like to thank these two extremely gifted creators for making the following additions possible. I created these lots because to me, the terminals included with joerg's set were too large, and they lacked realistic airbridges. My airbridges are in fact the back side of semi-trailer, but they give a very realistic feeling. These lots also rely on joerg's set to make any sense at all during the game (unless you absolutely insist on having one of my terminals clumsily attached to the outside of a "small international airport" ![]()
1. Two lots which enable you to create an Atlanta-Hartsfield type airport - a landside airport with air bridges, and a modular midfield concourse you can plop in any combination you want. This is designed for use with joerg's "767 parking" lot, or with my custom middle-sized jet parking, also included.
2. A landside terminal which is built over a functional avenue (this uses Marrast's set), and projects two piers to which you can attach the aforementioned concourses.
3. A terminal inspired by Chicago - O'hare pier-type terminals. This one also has air bridges, and even a ground traffic control center on top of the building.
4. Ever wanted a road to go under a taxiway? Now you can - as I used Marrast's avenue-avenue underpass and replaced the upper road with a taxiway. Gives you airport realism and ease of planning - no more roads detouring the whole airport just to get to the other side of the complex.
For these lots to work, simply put them in your plug-in folder. I also recommend using the transport fix found in Simtropolis's mods area, and of course joerg's airport set, without which this whole set is worthless. Please let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see - such as other terminals inspired by real-life airports.
