  1. Sandy Flats - a desert metropolis

First, I must say that this is an amazing-looking city. I rushed to Teirusu's site to grab that desert mod - but the link was broken![:0] Anyone knows where to download? And I was especially happy to see the newspaper article about the new Global Airport - because the terminal was designed by no other than myself!!! That is a great implementation of the lot, excellent work!
  2. Airport 3 Linear Terminal Satellite

I thought about making a dfw terminal, but the problem is that the airliners won't align with the building, and the air bridges can't be diagonal. Also, I don't think it's possible to make a road inside a lot be curvilinear. But I'm currently working on other designs that should be nice too :)
  3. Century of Flight in Simcity KLM 767300ER

Good work, on this and all other airliners before it. I do have one comment though: since only one graphic scheme can exist at a given time for each airliner type in sc4, I suggest making more 707's, not only 767, and even the mid-jet can be customed (say, American Eagle).
  4. Airport Pier Type Terminal

For your information - this lot, and the previous ones, are meant to be used with joerg's airport set, not with the regular airport that comes with the game. I didn't mention it in the first place, but I see that some people are confused. And thanks for the comments + the rating!

This terminal allows for more realism in airport building, because unlike my previous lots - it doesn't have to be a standalone structure. Several of these may be placed next to each other and it will look like a large, long building with concourses protruding onto the tarmac (the picture show two of these side by side). This way you can create terminal complexes much like in real life, and it's much more versatile. Put the file in the plugins folder for it to work. *****AND PLEASE VOTE WHEN YOU DOWNLOAD!***** My last two lots didn't get "enough votes", and I don't want it to happen with this one too.
  6. AIR CANADA 767200ER

Does it replace the original 767? I downloaded the Korean Airlines 707, and it does replace the 707 that came with the game. So did ANA's 767. Is is possible for two 767 files to co-exist?
  7. Airport Small Commuter Terminal

Forgot to mention: the lot is designed so you can put several of these next to each other, and it'll look like one larger building with protruding piers.

A small commuter terminal for municipal airports, or as a secondary terminal for large airports. It has several gates for small and medium aircrafts (including mid-prop planes), and was intended to look like the rag-tag terminals foung in so many U.S airports - meaning buildings that developed over the years instead of being planned in advance. This one comes with 100 $$ jobs, and has an icon which will make it easily distiguishable from all the stuff you probably have piled up in your landmark menu. I made a series of graphic icons, resembling airport terminal schematics, which I'll be using from now on. I can assure this - you won't have trouble finding this one! Just put the file in the plugin folder for it to work. P.S: Plese vote for my this lot and the previous one I made!
  9. Airport 3 Linear Terminal Satellite

Please people - VOTE!!! Only this way will other people get to know these lots.
  10. Airport 3 Linear Terminal Satellite

Note: when placing the satellite in an area without road access (such as midfield, between runways) you will get an NRZ (no road zot). This can be overridden by placing a single road tile next to the outer perimeter of the lot (adjacent to the tarmac).

Another sequel to my airport enhancement sets (visit the other two at the utilities section). As usual, this is meant to be used with joerg's airport set. This file includes two lots: 1. A linear terminal reminiscent of Osaka's Kansai, with 600 $$ jobs. It has a central landside with an impressive roof over the curbside. The right picture (above) shows that the building actually has sims working inside it. 2. A linear satellite pier which follow the visual pattern of the main terminal, for creation of Atlanta-type airports or expansion of existing airports. *In my first airport set, I included two lots playing on the same features, only much smaller. This time we're talking BIG, ultra-modern buildings, which are much more suitable for large airports. The main terminal will also contribute to your city economy with the hundreds of jobs it supplies. Just put the files in the plugins folder and Voila!

July 29th UPDATED VERSION: all buildings now contain $$ jobs, as well as names that appear in the game menu. The file also includes the O'hare-type terminal from the previous pack, this time with some 700 $$ jobs. So now the terminals contribute to the city economy! This time I've created three terminals which follow a circular pattern, and are inspired by three real-world airports. All three are TRANSIT-ENABLED and connect directly to an avenue (isn't that great?!). 1. Toronto-type: this one is inspired by the old terminal 1 at Toronto-Pearson int'l airport. It's essentially a circular building, isolated on the tarmac, with a road underpass leading to its center. The terminal contains a central multi-level parking lot, and several air-bridges which lead to the airplanes on the tarmac. 2. Paris-Roissy Type: inspired by terminal 1 at Charles de Gaulles airport in Paris. The same core building is used, with its parking lots, but this time the air-bridges are located on 5 circular mini-satellites which encircle the main building. 3. San Francisco Type: inspired by San Francisco international's circular terminal cluster. with projecting piers. Unlike the previous two, this terminal has a ground-level avenue leading directly into it, thus allowing the game to show vehicles drive right into the building (in the other two, the cars make a u-turn before entering the underpass). -------------------------------- You can use all files simultanously, just plop them (pun intended) into your plugin folder, in any combination you want, and they'll appear in the landmark menu. Like my previous set, this one is designed to work with joerg's airport set, so please download it if you don't have it already. Finally, I'd like to thank Marrast for his avenue-underpass which I used in two of the terminals.
  13. A Few Airport Enhancements

My previous message only applies to people who use the power cheat (such as myself...). If you do use the cheat, make sure you have a gas power station (for example) linked only to the airport, thus assuring that all the power will be used by the airport. All non-cheaters needn't do this, of course.
  14. A Few Airport Enhancements

Attention: if you want joerg's/my airport tiles to work, they need to be directly connected to a source of electricity - even if you use the power cheat. Also, if the airport is not isolated from the rest of town, the power might be redistributed city-wide and the airport will look unused.
  15. A Few Airport Enhancements

By the way, these files appear in the Landmark menu, and cost nothing to build. That's because I didn't know how to put a price tag on them, but I'm sure nobody minds building nice lots for free :)
