About This File

A small underground parking set into an avenue roundabout that will fit in a busy downtown or any suburb...

List of Items

* 2x2 Avenue Roundabout with 4 corners

This is set up as a COM building with 24 CS$ jobs.

* 2x2 Avenue Roundabout without corners

This is set up as a COM building with 24 CS$ jobs and will work well with any sidewalk.

* 1x2 Main Entrance

This serves as a functional garage with a capacity of 5000, so it can also be used as a standalone lot.

* 1x1 Side Entrance

* 1x1 Side Exit

These two lots also serve as functional garages with a capacity of 1500 each and can be used standalone as well.

Dependencies

- none -

Developer Notes

You can use the roundabout alone as a COM building, or use it together with any of the various entrance and exit pieces to get parking garage functionality. Or you can just use the entrance and exit pieces alone (without the roundabout) for plain underground parking...

All pieces in this set need power and water, create some garbage and have positive effect on neighboring COM.

You find them in the 'Transportation | Miscellaneous' menu with custom icons.

The danger of a car falling inside is a lot lower than it crashing into a building at a "T" intersection. I've seen many parks in the middle of a roundabout in RL and in this game. As far as the game goes, I can't recall anyone complaining about a car running over little Suzie while she is playing hopscotch.
We need variety in this game and originality in this game!
When driving through do you think people worry about a car falling on their heads?

Okay, this design is brilliant dude! You do get things similar to this in England but the roundabouts tend to be larger. Does America have roundabouts then because i always thought you guys were scared of them???

Congratulations! This upload has been chosen by the Simtropolis Staff as an STEX Feature!

Why this upload was chosen: This lot is an excellent example of one that enhances the illusion of 3D by showing below ground infrastructure.

Interesting but how does one enter/exit safely on a roundabout parking garage?

Similar to those roundabout metro stations - you'll know what i mean if you've ever watched a real roundabout in action.

Take a good look at the screenshot again - on top left and right of the RA you see two 1x1 lots with (side) exit/entrances. Below right of the RA you see the 1x2 main entrance... as listed in the description :yes:

@Paeng. Notice I said SAFELY. Anyone can see the driveway...but think about the drivers who have to compete with traffic to get to the middle lane and then hit the brakes and veer into the parkade. Or the driver who has to floor it and hope he doesn't get hit as he tries to merge into a swirl of fast moving cars as he exits the parkade...or the odd driver that plows right through barrier into a 2 storey drop at the bottom of said parkade.

Just saying. o.O

Well, the entrances and exits have nothing to do with the traffic inside the roundabout - they are situated either along the avenue leading to the roundabout, or - if the avenue traffic seems to be too heavy to make a simple turn into or out of a parking lot - the player can choose a quiet sidestreet and plop the entrances along that... as far away from all traffic as may be necessary. ;)

This made it into my game , but the pavement doesn't show!I get the actual parking structures,just no visible road. Any suggestions? I have the latest ( I think) version of NAM.(sorry I'm new here).

Yes, there are no roadtexture, you have to use the large (avenue) roundabout provided by the NAM. Plop the road, buldoze the 4 center tiles, then add the parking filler. Good luck! ;)

is it SUPPOSED to work like this?

1) bulldoze the intersection
2) add the roundabout
3) bulldoze the middle green of the roundabout
4) bulldoze the 4 street tiles
5) add the underground parking section
