SimMars is a mod for SimCity 4 taking the game to Mars. It will bring new buildings, transportation systems, user-interface and music and will replace the Maxis SimCity 4 content as far as possible, giving you the feeling to play a colony on Mars.
SimMars BETA 2 brings the mod a step further to the goal. Most MAXIS content is disabled now, although not yet completely. Buildings are functional and growable. There is a first basic set of BATs for growing a city. Transportation and automata have not been transformed yet apart from street and road textures and the bus station as first mass transit. As you can see BETA 2 is not a finished product and is intended mainly for testing purpose.
WARNING: TO INSTALL SIMMARS BETA, WE SUGGEST YOU TEMPORARILY CLEAR YOUR PLUGINS FOLDER, AS SIMMARS MAY INTERACT WITH THE MODS AND BATS IN THERE. OR ALTERNATIVELY USE THE SC4 STARTUP MANAGER TO EASILY SWITCH BETWEEN SimCity AND SIMMARS.
IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO DE-INSTALL SIMMARS BETA 1 BEFORE INSTALLING BETA 2.
SIMMARS WILL INSTALL INTO FOLLOWING DIRECTORIES:
Main mod: Installs into My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins/SimMars
Music: Installs into 'Radio' folder inside your SimCity 4 Game Directory

Note: Installing more plugins will tax additional RAM onto your system. Make sure you exceed the minimum requirements of SimCity 4 before installing this conversion mod! Compability with other mods is well possible but hasn't been tested and is therefore not guaranteed. Usage on own risk.
To enable the music check the "custom tunes" box in your Music options window in-game. If you want to hear SimMars music only untick the songs in the songlist (they are all MAXIS songs).
To remove the main mod & the music files use the Uninstallers found in the Plugins\SimMars folder in My Documents\SimCity 4.
