About This File
In a time far removed from now, El Shaddi (loosely translated as “God of the Stones”) moved through the universe checking His creations. A solar wind gusting through a cloud of dust caused a stony piece of stellar matter to lodge in El Shaddi’s eye. This caused discomfort to El Shaddi. He opened His eye wide and shook His head to dislodge the stony speck of dust. Suddenly, it flew free from the moist lining of the eye and hurtled through the depths of space being chased by one of His teardrops. As the stony speck flew through space, its mass grew as other pieces of stellar matter were attracted to it and, eventually, stuck to it. After some time, the stony speck had grown into a planet-sized body all the while being chased by El Shaddi’s teardrop.
That part of the planet-sized body that became known as Carthage was a flat and featureless area of land waiting to history to overtake it. Finally, as the now planet-sized stony mass stabilized and started to move in a predictable orbit, it was overtaken by the teardrop which engulfed the baby planet with a life-sustaining flood of water and energy. At the point in time that El Shaddi’s teardrop hit the new planet, the Carthage region was immediately inundated by water – history had arrived.
The remains of El Shaddi’s teardrop flowed over the land until a balance was found between the two leaving our familiar landmasses and oceans. After some time, the planet came alive with flora and fauna and, a strange animal that walked on two legs who consciously pondered on the force that brought it into being.
Eons passed and the new planet grew mature. Many plants and animals came and went until there was a balance that seemed to please the Spirit of the Stones that made up the planet. That strange two-legged animal – man – became the master and guardian of the planet all the while realizing a Higher Power directed his thoughts and actions. These cognizant thought processes eventually led man to a formalized way of expressing devotion to the Spirit of the Stones. Thus, the Clan of the Stones was born and Carthage took its place as another of El Shaddai’s creations.
