NHP Mount Everest Version A
By moganite

This is a 16 bit map of the mount Everest region
The A version of the Mount Everest region has dimensions of 40x 40 tiles There is also a second Version of the same region covering 48x48 tiles and includes the 5th highest mountain that region is pending aproval to upload as it just exceeds the 10 MB limit.

This resgion has been smothed heavily as there is a lack of data nd interpolation was used to fill the gaps. There is also evidence of blockiness due to a lack of accurate data in this region. Both of these are the result of the steepness of the area and its glacial nature over signifigant portions of the map.

The Everest A map has the slightly larger elevation range and some of the land is below water the water level is 3000 m above sea level.

Trivia
This region is the highest overall on the planet and the lowest points on these map are more than 3 km above sealevel and almost entirely above the treeline at this lattitude. Sitting on the Chinese Nepalese border this mountain is the highest point on land and is sacred to the local tibetan peoples and refers to as Chomolungma. Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay made the first ascent of the montain in 1953.
