Description:
Fredericton isthe capital city of the province of New Brunswick. It is a major arts, cultural and educationalcentre. It is home to both St. Thomas University and the University of New Brunswick which is the oldest english language university in Canada, and the first public university in North America. Situated in the centre of the province, along the Saint John River, Fredericton has a population of around 50,000. The city boasts a large trail network built along abandoned railbeds which is part of the Trans-Canada Trail system.
