About This File

Need some more efficient way to go to space? Here it is, a Space Elevator!

(STATS)      LANDMARK ONLY, 2x4, cost:3,000,000 (watch out, obviously it is ridiculously expensive to build such stuff) Monthly cost: 3000, landmark effect=max

I built up to 21100m, including "Stratoshpere Station" at an altitude of 10050m, but you will probably hardly see it.   The tallest BAT ever made?

DUE TO THE WAY IT WORKS, IT CAN BE BUILT ONLY ON EQUATOR.

EDIT: too expensive? Yeah, fair enough, because game balance is more important than numerical realism. The cost is cut down by one digit for everything..

and it won't be dangled from an asteroid, think of it as a giant rusty anchor in space. that will keep the belt taught. there will be rollers on elevator that will grip the belt and hoist up a payload of about 3 tons.

it will take 8 days to reach orbit where things can be launched with ion propultion only, no more chemical rockets! When this exists for real, you will all see and be happy.

This is far fetched, innacurate (space doesnt begin 21 km above land), too expensive (as much as 30 hydrogen power plants).

10! Nice work! For those who say this is unrealistic, I have news for you. This is not only a very real, very sound theory, but it is in the early stages of planning. This will be built in our lifetime.

I dont care if it is realistic or not. SC4 is a game for crying out loud. And since that is the case I shall find use of this fanthastic idea of structure. Thank you for sharing. (BTW. Doing stuff like everbody does is boring, not this material)
