About This File

Need some more efficient way to go to space? Here it is, a Space Elevator!

(STATS)      LANDMARK ONLY, 2x4, cost:3,000,000 (watch out, obviously it is ridiculously expensive to build such stuff) Monthly cost: 3000, landmark effect=max

I built up to 21100m, including "Stratoshpere Station" at an altitude of 10050m, but you will probably hardly see it.   The tallest BAT ever made?

DUE TO THE WAY IT WORKS, IT CAN BE BUILT ONLY ON EQUATOR.

EDIT: too expensive? Yeah, fair enough, because game balance is more important than numerical realism. The cost is cut down by one digit for everything..

Great job. I think alot of people would be very suprised if they knew how far along research on this type of technology currently is. It is not as far off as people think.

Jeezuz Louisis! First the Polaris Tower and then this beast! STEX is mimicing the real world's race for the tallest. Looks like you one 2ch.net, this sucker is five times the height of Polaris. Mind you, it's very boring. Amazing job though! :D

btw, this is not a building, not even a structure that supports itself against gravity. It is hung from space. Don't count it as "the tallest building"! And those who say "unrealistic" - do you actually know what space elevator is!? It is actually more realistic than Coruscant superskyscrapers!

I'm sorry but I think this is ridiculous... Well. for my own cities then...I like realism but for those who don't need that it's nice...

Awesome!! I am not sure if this could work in real life though. Hmm. We will have to see.

I personally just dont see the point. Did you make this just to be the tallest BAT? From what I can see the base looks interesting, so IMHO, you should use ur BATing skills on more usable structures.

Different idea. I'l make the stars come up for you. I was thinking it could have office buildings and apartments for the first 500 metres then have the pipe. I think it should be all glass. Anyway, interesting effort. 8/10

Excuse me, but I all ready read the little thing. Tall does not equal SimCity. It looks way too off scale. The tallest in the same seriously should be 3000ft if that's not to big all ready, but when you hit 10,000m. that's just wrong in my eyes... al;skfjd;as

@NintendoMaster It does not stand; it is hung from asteroid on geosynchronus orbit. Please google "space elevator" if you don't know the physics behind space elevator. Also, if you are realist, use of this BAT is not a good idea. It is pretty much for sci-fi fans only.

you know your city sucks when its citizens are using this facility to leave behind the smell of trash piling up and traffic jam never going anywhere. haha.

i acctually work on nanotechnology, and this nanofiber is 100% reality. we make belts of it, it costs about 30 million$ per mile, but it is a flat belt, not a tube and it can hold it's own weight for over 32000 miles. we suspect we can have one of these operational in mexico by 2024.
