About This File

This hexagonal mid-rise sits right between Portland, Oregon's Transit Mall streets and reflects its surroundings.

Originally released a few months ago, this was my first all-in-BAT project (I previously modeled exclusively in Rhino 3d). To help my crash-course in GMax, I picked a relatively simple building. In this updated version, I have modified the job capacities so that they are uniform and more realistic (I hope). Feel free to modify it if it pleases you. Enjoy!

Installation Instructions:

NOTE: This version will not replace the previous release of this BAT. If you don't like the capacities of the old lots, first leave the files here alone. Then run a search for "cong" in your plugins directory and delete those files. Then procede to the next step.

Otherwise, just move the model file and the contents of the folder with the lot type you wish to use to your plugins folder. This folder is usually at c:/my documents/simcity4/plugins.

Stats:

Lot: 4x4 (all lots)
Growables are stage 6 Houston tileset buildings.
CO$$$ versions now uniformly have 1873 jobs, reverting to 2903 CO$$ jobs if lot dilapidates
CO$$ versions now have 2903 jobs

Special thanks and props to: JtPortland, Cerulean, and Phillipbo for the helpful tutorials!

This is great work, but my only gripe is the roof. The rusty roof junk and broken concrete look way out of place on a shiny, modern building.

That's a nice building. The roof looks slightly tarnished from the elements. Very realistic.

This uses the same model, but different lot and desc. files. I just fixed all the jobs. The roof is opretty ugly in real life. I looked it up on TerraServer, and found it not only barren of roof junk, but quite a big mess of ugly concrete. Some like it, some don't... I don't know who's right.. heheh

Ah, I see, I see. Would it require a lot of effort to offer a retextured version so that the roof is as good looking as the rest of the building? Just curious, because although it might be less realistic, it could appeal to more people who have the same gripe I do. :P

This is a really nice building. I love plopping this in my cities. Thanks for making it. Much appreciated. We need more small and medium office buildings on the STEX.

This is showing up buggy in the STEX, not sure if i'm the only one who has this problem, but where the basic description text and link to details should be, i get a compressed, almost impossible to use box thingy.
