So, I was wondering do any of you still play Simcity
3000 or 3000 Unlimited? If you do what is your
favorite part of the game and what feature do you
wish would be put back into today''s Simcity?

well i played SC3000 and SC3000 Unlimited right up until SC4 came out. But i have been so wrapped up in SC4 that i have never gone back to SC3000, i didnt see a point since everything is so much better in SC3000. The features that i would like to see are the zoneable airports and seaports, but they would need to be tweaked a bit for realism.

I haven't been interested in playing SC3k, since I heard about SC4 for the first time... never played Unlimited...

I think 99% of us evolved from SC3K fanatics into SC4 fanatics.  It's the cycle of life.

I have gone back to playing SimCity on the SNES on rare occasions, just for the nostalgia.

I have SimCity unlimited, but quit playing it because I got tired of not
Having enough money for things. Until or unless I find a cheat for
More money its to frustrating.

I had SC3KU before I let a girl borrow it, she lost it and before she could look for it she moved.

I miss playing SC3 sometimes, but when my husband put XP on his computer, it wouldn't run. Luckily for me, SC4 was almost out (or maybe it was already out, I don't remember) but I didn't have to go through city-management withdrawl.

I still own SC3 but have not tried re-installing it on my newe computer. The funny thing is that we just goet this machine to run SimCity 4, our old one was somethign like a P2 450 MHz, 256 Ram, Win 98 SE, and now we have a P4 2.4 GHz, 512 Ram, Win XP Home. In short, I do also miss the old days of parades ion the mayors name, the 'astronomical' land value, and sort of the sone-able airport.

I have Simcity 3000, but not Unlimited. Haven't played the game since I got Simcity 4 (actually a little before then, but Simcity 4 pretty much stopped me from going back to Simcity 3000). Other then space issues for my computer (laptop. So, can't just fill it up with anything), I found Simcity 4 to simply be a great step forward that I didn't really care to go back (Sometimes feel that Simcity 4 is what Simcity 3000 should be). If I ever feel nestalgia, I might go back to the original Simcity or Simcity 2000, but not Simcity 3000.

I go back to SimCity 3000 about twice a month to re-visit some favourite old cities. Also because i sometimes wonder: 'how did i do that in the old game'. The thing that i miss most about SC3K is that once the finances were sorted, the city mostly stayed on financial auto-pilot. And then you could concentrate on what SimCity is really all about: Building Cities!

I never owned SC 3K but did and still do have SC 2K for playstation. I played it until I got a computer and bought SC 4 Deluxe. I have played 2K once since I got 4 and I played for about 3 minutes and then went back to SC 4.

I think acrologies would be kinda cool to have in SC 421.gif41.gif21.gif

I had SC3 and SC3 Unlimited, but when I got my new computer last year, I didn't bother installing the SC3's I had because of the news of SC4. I do miss SC3 sometimes; when they had all of the variety of ground styles and building styles in SC3, it was great. I do like the fact Rush Hour included some builiding styles, but wished they had Asian and old Euro styles in SC4. I like SC4 better, especially the placement of hosptials and schools. In other SC versions, it didn't matter where you placed the schools and hospitals, as long as you had them. In SC4, it's more realistic. With each new version, it gets more realistic. It only gets better with time.

I have Owned Simcity 3000 since 2000. I always come back to play it from time to time. If I was to choose Simcity 4 or Simcity 3000, I would choose Simcity 3000. Simcity 4 is a great game, but they have not based Simcity 4 on Simville or the Sims interface{bad idea}. No Simcity game will be as excellent as Simcity 300044.gif.

I wouldn't call myself a fanatic, but I do still enjoy playing SC3K every now and then. It seems like after SC4 came out I became addicted to that and only every once in awhile I go back to the other games. I still enjoy the previous versions just as much as the new one, but I spend all my time on the new one because it seems to keep my occupied for longer periods of time.

I am a convicted Simcity 3000 U fanatic!!!39.gif

I absolutely loved the game. Getting astronomical land values was so easy and getting all those sky scrapers was a great feeling. one important thing , it was easy to get very rich looking neighbour hood if u just plopped some parks and trees.

So easy44.gif but very good.

I really miss the terraforming bit, it was realy easy to sculpt rivers, surface lakes, oceans etc.

Where has the de-salinization plant gone?14.gif

I als ohad some mad obsession with 3000 Unlimited. It required thinking and planning, unlike most other games, but not too much like SC4. I still have the game, but I haven't played it since I bought SC4. I prefer it to SC4, but I can't go back. the game just worked better in basically every way than SC4, but SC4 has many advantages. I am glad Maxis made a fourth one and hope they make a fifth, but I also hope that fifth one is as well-done as SC3kU.

i played saturday, i started a city with the call cousing vinnie cheat and the free construction cheat, it is at about 200,000 (better than my best large SimCity 4 Cities) but my best city is New Tokyo, about 202,000 to 270,000, i only loaded it to check the pop, i actualy started the city in in 2004.

and by the way this topic is from 2003.

I'm still a SimCity 3000 (and Unlimited) fan (I have both)
and I still play it a lot.

I also play much SimCity 4, but I don't get the same cozy feel as SC3K.
