Hi there, Been wondering around these forums for some time, untill I came acrosse post made by Pygma. Kinda liked the idea, so I started working one some new tool to make life easier. SCTweak allowes you to create all of those tunnels and overpasses etc, without having to close SimCity or edit any file. However be aware that this app is still in very, very early developement and requires a lot of work (obviously...). Don't want to make a to long story out of this, please let me know if it works for you.. or not. Instructions: Download the latest version: TinyUpload Mega Start as administrator Click start button when SimCity 5 is running Select a road height from the drop-down Draw a small "test" piece of road to apply new height settings Hints: Increasing speed > 5 could cause simulation issues (check your sewage flow, depends on city size) Tunnel option does not work on the edges of the map, this is not fixable Release notes: R7 Support for patch 6.0 (TinyUpload Mega) R6 Added HotKeys, added speed mod, tuned some road types (TinyUpload Mega) R5 Updated to support latest SimCity patch 5.0 (TinyUpload Mega) R4 Updated values for tunnels, improve shutdown behavior (TinyUpload Mega) R3 No longer required to reload, just draw a small "test" piece for height settings to be applied. (TinyUpload Mega) R2 4.0 update, "Always on top", extra debug logging (TinyUpload Mega) R1 rewrote to a c++ debugger based patcher (TinyUpload Mega) R0 non-functional Having issues? Please provide me the following info: What OS you are using Game version Game language Log text from the tool Description of the issue (when, where, how?) Buy me a beer! Please Note: Some antivirus tools seem to give a false positive on this file. Ofcourse any scammer would state that this file is completely safe to use and so will I: "This file does not contain any form of malware. Don't download if you do not trust it"
8,294 DownloadsHey all, this is my first mod, please help me by posting comments, criticisms, and IT'D BE COOL IFs. Also, let me know if something isn't working. What Does Chain Plopper Do? You know how easy it is to plop tons of bus stops in a very short period of time? I made many other things work this way! Now it's super easy to add the max number of buses, trade depot lots, and many other things very quickly! (CLICK ON THE IMAGE ABOVE FOR A GIF DEMO) Example: Bus Depots are great, but if you're building a brand new one in a city bursting at the seams with cash, it's very tiresome to click the bus garage, then plop it, then go back and click the same icon for another garage, then plop that one, then go back to the menu... ad infinitum.... To quote America's favorite female comic: ACK! My God, Surely You are Some Coding Master! Actually, most of the credit should go to Oppie (and all those working tirelessly on the SimCityPak tool! But ProcsKalone did a whole lot to help me out too, In fact, he pretty much told me how to do it, all I did was do it. So i just want to give a shout out to him. <generic shout/> Furthermore, I have a couple known issues right now: Ambulances for Medical Clinic won't chain. Ground Floor Jail Cells for Police Station won't chain either. I have no effing clue if it's compatible with anything else. None. If you find anything please let me know. Also, anyone is free to take this file and change it as they like, just please give me credit if you do so :-D You fool! Shut up and Tell Me how to Install Your Brilliant Mod! Simply download the attached file, and unzip "Chain Plopper.package" into you SimCityData Folder. There, you're good to go! Enjoy all, Chucksef
I was poking around through my SimCity data files the other day, and I found in \SimCity\SimCityUserData\Preferences is a file named Preferences.prop You can open the file with notepad, and in the file are all of the games graphical user settings. You can change certain settings that the game normally does not allow the user to change in the options menu. Just remember, certain settings are valued 1 - 3, 0 - 4 etc.. 0 - off/very low 1 - low 2 - medium 3 - high 4 - ultra Note that most settings do NOT support the ultra settings, so if you want the highest setting for those, just use 3. I will post an example of my preferences file, and since I changed it I have noticed a very small, yet still noticeable change in the graphics and performance. Now it MIGHT just be me, I am not sure, the reason I am posting this is so people can try it out. I have tested, and deleting the file resets the preferences to default. So I know for sure the game reads these settings; and if you change a setting in game, the file changes. So give it a shot! See if you can better your performance or graphics. If I am not mistaking, it is the option to change the quality of your cities you see in the distance (Unloaded cities) - or views from regional view. I do not think the value goes above 1 or 2. I think it might just be an on and off switch. Off being very low quality and on being mild quality. When I set it to 0 or above 1, my cities in the distance look awful, but if it is at 1, they look... well, they look OK I guess.
