Any chance that we can ever have larger maps / no building limits?
Need4Camaro posted a topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
I'm aware of the agent limitations and building limits. I'm also aware that most of this is hard coded into the game itself The main thing that irritates me so much about this game. 81 tiles is decent but I would love to have a city building game where building multiple cities throughout a large region is possible. Preferably I would really like to have a map the size of a world much like space engineers. I personally don't think the agent based system is good enough of an excuse as to why we can't have that. Several games also use agents but offer much larger maps sizes than C:S although these are not city builder games. I personally feel that the agents only within your immediate vicinity should be rendered / loaded but still allow players to travel freely through the region. What would it take to get truly larger maps? The current map size even at 81 tiles (somewhere around 150 square miles) is about the size of Spartanburg SC.- 16 Replies

I am starting a new Region in North America East 1 if anyone is interested. -The Region Name is Rune. -Map TBD -Mayors will play at least 3-5 days a week -If a mayor is no longer able to fulfill obligation said Mayor will provide notice and abandon his/her city to myself for contract to a new mayor. -message me with ideas of types of city you would like to build, friends request first. REGION IS BASED IN DESIGN CENTRIC CITIES, IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS PLEASE LOOK IT UP. MAYORSLATER

I believe everyone by now probably had an experience in a region plagued with trollers or unplayed cities. I myself had 3 regions, all of them were and still are plagued with unplayed cities or being stopped playing. (I really hope there was a better word to explain this) There are people who simply stop playing a city at some point. They still own a spot, they didn't technically "abandon" a city (nobody else can claim it). But they don't play in that very region anymore, and often times that very city they had been playing has a finance problem. All can be easily fixed, IF s/he lets someone else take over! Now, some players even claim multiple cities in a region and simply leave them. They don't abandon them. (what a pattern) I am guessing they are abandoning the city the moment they run out of initial funds, and move on to next region. Again, if they had actually abandoned the city and let someone else take over, it wouldn't have been a problem. But they don't, they leave it as it is. One of my region had 4 players who stopped playing all-together around April. How is this supposed to work while Simcity is actively focusing on region play? I am actually hoping EA to add a vote-kick system with some rules, like only the city had NOT been played in last month or so.
