Hi everybody ! Krongans City is back, and this post takes place in 1967, 7 years after the last one. Nothing really new happened here I'm afraid, the city just keeps growing and extending to the east. Supreme General MacWillems is still at power, at the age 75 years old, and yes he decided Supreme General was better than General. But many voices raise, saying that he may not have the entire control like before anymore. Some say the Vice-Supreme-General, Matthew Hewson, is the real boss and who is about to replace him when his last hours come. Hewson is kind of a curiosity for the Krongans population, he's not really famous, never really been that much public, and his intentions are quite unknown too. That probably explains the slight increase of interest in the resistance process, as part of the population is afraid of getting a new chief, more severe than the current one. Only time will tell us, now let me show you some pictures of Krongans City in 1967. That's it for today, thank you all for watching ! I'm gonna start a new city journal with cities of Cities Skylines, I don't know when exactly, but in the following weeks for sure. I will keep updating the Krongans' CJ as well. See you all ! v701

Hi everybody ! Krongans is back, and 18 years passed since the last post, as this post takes place in 1960. The Falklands Islands changed a lot since the new reign of MacWillems started. So this post is the first of a series of different posts presenting the situation of the different parts, in 1960. First, let me show you a picture of Krongans City in 1942, just at the end of the Civil war: And now a picture of Krongans City in 1960: Way different right?! The new government of MacWillems immediately decided to start a governmental building program, to stop the growth of the slums, and to allow the people of Krongans to have a flat at least and a descent way to live. To finance this program, he increased significantly the taxes on the rich class, and the big companies, and put almost at 0% the taxes on low class, and small businesses. With other technical ways, allowing the Krongans Government to create as much money as needed, the program went fast, and quickly, a lot of buildings appeared in the east of Krongans City. Not only residential, but governmental (the number of employees has been multiplied by 10), with surveillance authority, the police headquarters, the army headquarters offices etc… The east of Krongans City is now the new political center of the Falklands Islands, and the Krongans nation. The re-industrialization is a new priority of the government, as almost all the big foreign companies left the country when the taxes raised, and left thousands of unemployed. A lot of jobs have been created in the administration, and the national industry coming back, new jobs appear every month. Here is what I can say about the new Krongans City, last notification, the first hypermarket has been built, in the north-east district, which is still in construction in 1960. Enough talking, let’s see what does the city look like! Krongans City by night: That’s it for today! Thanks to all of you, and don’t hesitate to comment. v701

Replies: Yanita Channel: Thank you very much! takemethere: Well I hope it'll keep going this way! Hello everybody!!! We are back in Krongans, but with terrible news !! First I want to apologize for the long explanations that follow, but I had to fully explain you the situation... I tried to make it interesting, and that's a critical moment in the Krongans' history! As you remember, Jean Simon succeeded to his father in 1931 as Governor of Krongans. With the effects of the world financial crisis, the economic situation of Krongans went very bad, and Simon didn't handle it in a good way, so it gets worse and worse each year. He maintained the same government and chiefs (police, firemen, health system, tax authorities...) in place during these 9 years of mandate so he could have their support for his re-election in 1940, when he presented himself for a second mandate. The situation was so bad that actually nobody else was candidate. Krongans was there going for a second mandate of bad management, favoritism, corruption, and all the bad aspects inheritated from the Simon family system, without the good aspects Krongans could see under the reign of Clément Simon. But the General Wakowzky, who's been nominated by Clément Simon in 1927, didn't really agree with this situation. General Wakowzky was born in a Polish family who arrived in Krongans in 1895, when he was 10 years old. He did his entire career in the Krongans army, and quickly gained responsibilities in the army management. And that's after 27 years of good services that he became General, the highest rank in the Krongans army, and member of the Government. General Wakowzky is a truly 200% Krongans patriotic, and would do anything to see his (young) country being prosperous. That's why he decided to present himself for the elections of 1940, with the condition of resigning his General functions in case of his election as Governor. But unfortunately, all the voters (the members of the government and chiefs of the police, firemen and health system) were apparently completely satisfied of the idea of having Jean Simon for a second mandate (and the assurance that things won't move too much, in an unfavorable way for them). Simon was then re-elected for a second mandate, the slums were increasing everyday as numerous inhabitants lost their jobs and money due to the crisis, and were forced to sell their houses; or due to the fact that new migrants were arriving every day from Europe, especially Eastern Europe to flee from what looked like the begining of a terrible war... The 30th of August 1940, 2 weeks after the re-election of Simon, General Wakowzky sent a heartfelt demand to Simon of resigning his post, for the good of Krongans, which returned refused. The 6th of September 1940, General Wakowzky sent an ultimatum to Simon, asking again for his resigning, once again refused. The 8th of September 1940, in the early morning, the entire army is mobilized and barge in the Krongans Government building. Simon immediately ask the help of the police services to defend the government, and confrontations started between the army and the police. It lasted all the day, with a few members of the Government and Jean Simon blocked inside. General Wakowzky asked to the unit based in Mid-Krongans to come give a hand in the fights. But they encountered a lot of difficulties on their road, against the Police, and some resistants, pro Simon. We can see here some destructions in Mid-Krongans. And now the fights in Krongans City, between the Army camp and the center. The fights became more and more important, when the 9th of September, as reprisals, the Police services were ordered to put in fire the housing of the Army staff. The housing concerned are these old buildings in the very center of Krongans City. Progressively, the Police forces rejoined the Army, and didn't forget the decision of Simon just after his re-election to reduce the Police's budget of 20%. The fights almost stopped after a week, and the chief of the Police resigned and his assistant signed a peace pact with General Wakowzky. This peace pact was signed in the Pennascot Building, a famous skyscraper of Krongans. Even the firemen demonstrated their approval to the political changements. General Wakowzky officialy became the new Governor of Krongans, the 20th of September 1940. Jean Simon finally accepted to resign, and asked for only one favour, to be able to live in the old familial farm he inheritated from his father, one of the last few old farms that still exist in Krongans City. General Wakowzky accepted. During the following year, General Wakowzky formed a new government, and kept the control of the army. A small resistance tried to cause troubles to the new government, but every "resistant and non-patriotic behavior" was severely punished by the Army. It appeared that Jean Simon was in fact the boss of a resistance network, given up by a captured resistant, who told everything while he was tortured. The reaction of General Wakowzky was quick, the 15th of October 1941, the old farm of Jean Simon was integraly destroyed: All transport communications and networks were temporally closed, until the hunt of the last resistants was not completed. Demonstrations took place in Krongans City, without any reaction of the army, as the General Wakowzky didn't want to become the enemy of the Krongans population. The 21st of March 1942, General Wakowzky is found dead in his house, probably murdered. His second replaced him, described as power hungry by all the Army management, Alfonso MacWillems, a son of Dutch and Scottish migrants, with almost exaclty the same career than Wakowzky, but not chosen by Simon. The murder of Wakowzky was attributed by MacWillems to the resistance, that were still threatening the integrity of the new free Krongans nation. But some voices suggered that other people than the resistants had also interest to kill Wakowzky, fortunately they get arrested and executed by the Army before their theory became too much famous, following the MacWillems' orders. To finish this loooooooooooonnng post (and I'm sorry again about this), here is a view of Krongans City in 1942, just at the end of the Civil War: Thank you all for watching and see you at the next post !! v701 PS: Nobody knows where is Jean Simon, but rumours say last time he was seen was in his farm just before the destruction...

Hello everyone !! I'm very happy to publish my first new post in this brand new Simtropolis !! Last time, we left Krongans in 1915, during the second mandate of Simon. We are now in 1925 and the current governor is... SIMON !!!! Yeah, turn-over is not the speciality of Krongans. Simon kept in place the same people for 20 years, and this people vote for him at each election, so everything is okay. But despite the fact that Simon acts a bit like a dictator (he actually is), he's also doing a great job to develop Krongans, especially Krongans City and Mid-Krongans. North-Krongans is still a bit apart, and kind of autonomous. Philippstown is abandonned at 85% and destructed at 65% due to several fires and no firemen services, the lack of money in the city, no mayor or official administration for 10 years... Only 3,000 people are left (mostly farmers), surviving as they can. Two cities appeared on the WestIsland, created by the oil prospection. They're only living thanks to the oil business. Here is a view of the Falklands Islands: As you remember (I'm sure), Simon's father worked in the maintenance of churches and cathedrals in France, and one in particular stayed in the memory of Clément Simon, the Chartres' cathedral. So as a huge fan —and ruling a now powerful and rich small nation (England definitely gave them freedom and independence) — he ordered the construction of an exact replica of the Chartres' cathedral. First, let's take a look at the aerial view of KrongansCity: Do you see it ? On the top-right corner ? Here it is !! Beautiful, no ? Some parks have also been arranged in front of and around the cathedral. And the big mansion-kind with the cannons is the new house of the Krongans' Government. Now let me show you the brand new "presidential residence area". You can spot it on the aerial view of the region, on the west of KrongansCity, in the forest. This is another example of the megalomania of Simon. He got a private road built that leads to his private residence with a private golf resort, a private beach (mostly rocks), and all of it done with his private money. Well, in fact, with the taxes of the Krongans population. I have to admit, it's tempting to use other's money to build this for you: But limiting the acts of Simon to this new cathedral and residence is negative. He also finally provided KrongansCity with the train station it deserved (maybe a bit bigger than what it really deserved): And a promenade replacing the old port: The industrial area stayed quite the same, as the residential area on its north side did: And now some random pictures of KrongansCity, 1925 version. That's it for today! Thanks you all for watching !!! v701
