Krongans City, 1960 report
Hi everybody ! ![]()
Krongans is back, and 18 years passed since the last post, as this post takes place in 1960. The Falklands Islands changed a lot since the new reign of MacWillems started. So this post is the first of a series of different posts presenting the situation of the different parts, in 1960.
First, let me show you a picture of Krongans City in 1942, just at the end of the Civil war:

And now a picture of Krongans City in 1960:

Way different right?!
The new government of MacWillems immediately decided to start a governmental building program, to stop the growth of the slums, and to allow the people of Krongans to have a flat at least and a descent way to live. To finance this program, he increased significantly the taxes on the rich class, and the big companies, and put almost at 0% the taxes on low class, and small businesses. With other technical ways, allowing the Krongans Government to create as much money as needed, the program went fast, and quickly, a lot of buildings appeared in the east of Krongans City. Not only residential, but governmental (the number of employees has been multiplied by 10), with surveillance authority, the police headquarters, the army headquarters offices etc…
The east of Krongans City is now the new political center of the Falklands Islands, and the Krongans nation.
The re-industrialization is a new priority of the government, as almost all the big foreign companies left the country when the taxes raised, and left thousands of unemployed. A lot of jobs have been created in the administration, and the national industry coming back, new jobs appear every month.
Here is what I can say about the new Krongans City, last notification, the first hypermarket has been built, in the north-east district, which is still in construction in 1960.
Enough talking, let’s see what does the city look like!
