I have embarked on a quest to turn a local industrial district into a gentrified upper-middle class dwelling area. I did not spent a lot of time on it, so it doesn't look promising. But it does look different, sort of. This is the next step of my large-scale plan to turn dirty and manufacturing industry areas into tight-knit residential neighborhoods filled with c.p. rowhouses. I already tried it once, 200 game years ago. Here is the result: Imagine, a large area full of Dead Forest Papers and both types of Patch's Paint slowly being bulldozed and rezoned into THIS. (I haven't given this district a name yet, so let's just call it Bayback or something.) Anyway, Bayback is such a success, I decided to do the same thing to Ree, an industrial district just like pre-gentrified Bayback, but... actually, it's just the same thing, but with one way roads. Here is Ree before the project started: Again, not much work has been done, but progress has been made: My plan is to turn it into another Bayback, but that will probably take another 200 ingame years. Anyway, I gotta get back to work.

I did not expect such a response to my last journal entry 5 weeks ago. So I am back for more. Where I last left off, Acadia City had around 1,009,000 people in it. Now it doesn't, due to some abandonment issues. Talking about "unemployment" and "no buses". Bah! It still has around a million people, but it likes to fluctuate between 990,000 and 1,010,000 Sims. Anyway, I have been working on some improvements to the road network, because Jamil Herd keeps interrupting me with urgent message popups. One of the problem roads was one that connected a residential district to the large commercial district next to the airport. It used to look like this: But now it looks like THIS: SEAMLESS. Except for some rezoning, but that'll get covered over. Anyway, here are some pictures that I took (With descriptions!): A busy road into an Industrial district during the morning rush hour. A much more beautiful picture of a highway exit next to a gascooker IKEA, surrounded by trees. I like @madhatter106 commercial BATs. especially the low wealth ones, because they're unique enough to look nice, but generic enough to squeeze into a large area without it getting repetitive. The result of going Away From Keyboard with a Persistent Automata Mod installed. That's gotta violate a noise ordinance or something. Anyway, that's it. Goodbye.

This is my first attempt at City Journals, so please keep that in mind. Anyway, welcome to Acadia City, Pulnanski! I have been working on this city for 3 months. Here is the city as it is located in the region. It is in the top left corner: And here is a hastily stitched-up picture of the entire city: At the time of writing, Acadia City houses 1,009,618 Sims within the city tile. I know this because it tells me in the region view picture. Acadia City is full of small neighborhoods, each with their own feel. There is a 500 year old borough made up of Maxis Chicago Row Cottages and Bungalows: And High-Rise-Land, which houses 3 out of 4 people in Acadia: A neighborhood full of c.p. Rowhouses, with custom backyards I made myself: A Low Wealth Commercial Service District made of @madhatter106 BATs: Commercial Skyscraper Land: Nice Suburbs to the north: Poor Maxis Chicago neighborhoods: And there we go! The journal is done! Any feedback would be appreciated.
