Well it has finally happened, U.S. Federal Judge Rogers has denied Apple's motion for summary judgement setting a trial date for November 17th 2014. The class action antitrust suit is being brought by U.S. consumers over iTunes digital music from 2004 - 2009 The claims by the consumers: The only way to get music on your iPods, iPhones, and iPads were by buying music from iTunes Store iTunes DRM prevented you from sharing files and importing files from other digital music stores iTunes files are only compatible with iTunes FairPlay DRM forced technology lockins, preventing consumers from putting iTunes music on non-Apple devices Apple's monopoly tactics limited the amount of music available on rival platforms. Apple's monopoly tactics lead to illegally cheeap music prices forcing everyone else out of the market, hurting consumers. Apple blocked iTunes users form using RealNetwork's music store for music purchases The consumers are seeking $350 million in damages from Apple at the bare minimum. Some of the ugly truths the consumer didn't know at the time: Music industry forced DRM on Apple as part of the agreement The major music studios refused to sign with platforms who didn't agree to their DRM terms The major music studios that supported rival platforms also had DRM that made them incompatible with other platforms including iTunes Google, Microsoft, and Amazon paid each major studio to get them on board with their platforms Each of their devices are only usable with their platforms The iTunes music prices are legitimate antitrust arguement Apple did issue updates to block rival companies from using iTunes (Microsoft, Google and Amazon did it too) http://www.therecorder.com/id=1202671781278/Judge-Cues-Trial-in-iPod-Antitrust-Case?slreturn=20140904024820 If you believed Apple has wrong you, you can join the suit to earn a piece of the pie. Yesterday The trial began over the FairPlay iTunes DRM that Apple used pre 2009! Though something unusual occurred... The plaintiffs lied about when they bought their iPods. They had bought their iPods after the DRM was removed from iTunes. This leaves the suit with out a plaintiff, which should lead to a swift dismissal! http://www.theverge.com/2014/12/5/7339289/apple-moves-toward-dismissal-drm-lawsuit

Hi, I was wondering whether its possible to listen to your own music when you play Simcity. The stock music does get a bit tiring after a while. Whenever I have my iTunes (or VLC/WMP, whatever) music on and I start Simcity, the music gets overrun. If anyone knows which folder the music is stored in and if I can replace that with my own MP3s, please post. thanks, syga
