I have a new iMac: OS X 10.5.6 [\b] 2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 1 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM ATI Radeon HD 2400 128 MB I have been reading all of the (confusing) reviews, posts, replies about the performance (or lack there of) of Aspry's version of Deluxe. Am I out of luck and it doesn't work on my machine? Should I buy it? I have the PC version (I just switched to a Mac and am still learning), and love it, and want to play it. So I guess I could (not likely) try the options of running the PC version on the mac. Should I get the Aspry game?

Thanks I think I will give bootcamp a try and I will let you all know how it goes. It probably won't be for awhile.

I can get my hands on a very affordable (almost no cost) version of VISTA from my college, so getting windows is no problem. I have really no idea about what/how to get myself set up after that. Can someone direct me to a good tutorial? What programs are there for running windows on a mac, which are good for the price? Thanks for the scoop. NJT

I have been able to get rid of these pesky never diminishing landfills. First, add more tiles to the landfill and let them fill up. Then let it dezone again. This sometimes gets rid of them. Somewhere this problem was described as a problem of how the game calculates the rate of garbage decomposition. The game must use an equation that bases the rate of decomposition on how much garbage was in the landfill (or something there abouts) and if this value is just right the rate will be approximated as 0 and the garbage will stay for ever. So by adding a bit of garbage back this can shake the equation from this fixed point and start decomposing again. Hope this helps.

I am having trouble "turning off" windowed mode. I added the -w r800x600x16 to the end of the command line for my desktop short cut. I have played some with that mode and lost my ability to autoscroll, and want to disable to the window mode. I deleted the text added to the command line (didn't work) I deleted the shortcut (didn't work) I re-installed the game (didn't work) The game opens just fine, but the taskbar remains at the bottom of the screen (which is nice) but I lost autoscroll (not so nice). Does anyone know how to have the game open as before? Thanks in advance.

What Building Style Do You use
winonanick replied to timeline_9611's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I use Chicago mostly. I like the low density residential lots and the brownstones. The commercial lots are good as well. I have a bunch of gascooker stuff after that. -
I am trying to track down how to get the pub info , i.e. the local beer rewards for the Gascooker's Pub Lots. In the past they were working, but I have recently come back to playing again and now when I query the lots instead of mentioning the beers served all it says is barbs story. Please help. Thanks Nick

I tinker all the time, budget balancing, growth encouraging. I generally keep R$ and R$$ with a point (0.1) or two of each other, while R$$$ (0.5 - 1.5) above R$$. I slide up and down as needed. I generally follow the rule of thumb, 9% is demand neutral. I keep cs$ and cs$$ in the 7's and raise the others higher. Industry I do what other do. I generally try to encourage $$ to grow the most, it creates the most stability, the $ and $$$ are do erratic and cause wild swings in your cities growth.

I have noticed this as well, particularly in my industrial cities. I assume the are two different groups working here.

grow organically. zone limited according to demand. I prefer to zone 1 block of comerce at a time, and most of time my commerce zones are rezoned residential. Have patience
