  1. SC4Tool: http://kurier.simcityplaza.de/details.php?file=315
  2. this is what i did: 1. edited ALL Maxis buildings in SC4tool, and changed them into new tilesets. i moved all NY and Chicago toghether into chicago, and moved all Maxis Euro and Houston into NY. this is in the simcity1.dat 2. every single item of downloadable (growable) content, i edit for it to grow in the desired tileset type.... ie i have put all of HKABT stuff into Houston, which in "'mod eastern" in the tileset mod. i warned everyone that it takes a lot of work. is it worth it? i think so that's why i have done it. i spent 2 months re-arranging and editing my GB's of plugins to conform to the tileset mod. i now have a growable w2w tileset, and have created an on and off button for maxis stuff. just make sure you have enough content that covers all growth stages and sizes.
  3. whats wrong with it? it doesnt automatically change the buildings to the new tilesets you have to do them yourself. it is simply a mod that gives you a new Tileset controller... like a 'mask'. you have to do the hard work yourself. is that the problem or something else is wrong?
  4. Creating Gigantic Regions

im running a massive region at the moment, 56 x 52 and i think it's on the edge of tolerance. i had planned a larger region, but SC4TF would crash making it. i love big regions, and my plan is develop this as a small state, with 4 major cities. i had to render 2 regions seperately, and then export them onto a 3rd region i created (in paint, config only) to glue them together. hope that helps
  5. Israeli attack on international aid ships

An Israeli intelligence vessel or warship would never attack a ship without knowledge of who was on it, what was on it, where it came from, and why it's trying to pass their blockade. And in fact, there were indeed weopns on this ship. How do I know? Because Palestinians lie. Don't you understand? The Radical Islam world does not want Israel! They want Israel gone, along with the Jews! They want to wipe people like me off the face of the Earth! This is what you're defending, people. You're defending dirty little liers. And by doing that, you want me off this planet. You want me dead. quote> I would tell your government to buy a new record. i think the world is getting sick and tired of hearing the same old song over and over again..... In south africa it was called apartheid, but in Israel it is called 'self-defence' In Bosnia and Serbia it was called 'ethnic cleansing', yet in Israel it is labelled 'biblical right' Just last week Australia ousted an Israeli diplomat in connection of the assassination of a palestinian in the UAE a couple of months ago. Evidence has been found that Israel used Fake Passports from several countries, including 2 Australian identities in the assassination. this also breaches international law, and it appears actions like these are a way the government choses to operate. it is illegal for governments to conduct these types of operations on foreign soil, and using fake identities. Israel says it is a friend, but uses it's friends Passports to carry out the action. that is not the actions of a friend. this has happened before (did anyone like the movie Munich?) that would and should be considered an act of war, but not if it's Israel!... they are ALWAYS victims. they (about 7 of them) had to fly into another country, using other countries fake identities, and assassinate a man in the name of defence? and for the record, i am not biased or one-sided. I am well read and educated person in history, current affairs, theology and politics. this sad story is just another chapter in a hostile governments distortion of all i just mentioned, to pursue it's own agenda, for it's own benefit, which will break every rule in the book to achieve it.
  6. Israeli attack on international aid ships

(source: israelnationalnews.com) do you think a flotilla would go to all that trouble do deliver a dozen knives? if they truly found boatloads of weapons, we would be seeing video and pictures all over the world proving Israel correct, and they would be out immediately...cos that's what they do best. they would smear it on every media outlet to prove they were correct. Israel is very, very vocal in world media to get their point across. now... back to the knives and poles. i have two answers for that. 1. a boat needs tools for various reasons, ie berthing lines, nets, freight etc. even an israeli fishing boat would have 'weapons' onboard. 2. now if i was sailing to a destination, and see a helicopter loaded with machine gun totting soldiers fast-roping down on me, i would grab the biggest thing i could find to prepare myself to fight for my life. especially if i wasnt prepared for it, and if it wasnt meant to be happening (international waters etc..) dont insult my intelligence and say that this was self defence.... pretend it was two other countries (australia vs new zealand) for example and this would be seen as a declaration of war. but Israel doesnt attack or kill anyone. they defend and protect dont they?!
  7. How do you build your cities?

i picked other, and my style is 'situational'. i like to place geographical situations and obstacles in my regions (ie mountain ranges, islands, isthmuses, hills etc) that affect where and how i can build. then i try my best to use what i have to use. nothing bores me more than flat regions, or plain regions.
  8. in the last 5 years, i have seen the CJ's go through several evolutionary stages. First we played the default game content, then we developed custom content. then there was an explosion of mega skyscrapers, and mega-metropolis was everywhere. but the last 2years, i have noticed a more predominently 'ruralist' CJ's appearing. this of couse be due to the fact that now more and more custom content now caters for nature, trees, rivers etc than 3yrs ago and all this nature content adds to the very limited choices on offer in the game. BSC farms are now available, and every month we get spoilt with more stuff to use. however, in 2010 i have noticed that CJ's pretty much now fall into 2 camps: Ruralism or Urbanism. and as of late, i feel that BSC is leaning more Ruralist in their newer content than how they once were. Now, i am not drawing a line in the sand, and suggesting that you must be one or the other, but i'm curious to see what you all think of the 2 distinct types of city building that has emerged in the present era. do you agree with my analysis of Ruralism and Urbanism? now i do dabble in both worlds, but i must admit that i enjoy building complex urban environments a lot more than Rural settings. i find plopping weeds and rocks quite dull, but i do love some of the amazing CJ's other people create. However my tastes are more complex, busy and big cities. so, are you are Sim'city' player, or a Sim'rural' player these days?

  11. World Affairs

Present day USA is completely different from USA before 1945. the government is different, the culture and attitudes are different, the citizens are different. what i find is that the 'projected' or 'transmitted' US ideology has not changed. I also think that maybe some self-reflection, and self-assessment is desperately needed. "before you can preach to the masses, make sure you are in fact using the same product you are trying to sell". to me it seems that the mindset is that the US saved the world and won in 1945, (which i think is true to a point), and every war/conflict since then (that the US has been involved in) is modelled on the same ideals and morales... as if they are off to war to remove another Hitler from power, and that the world would fall apart and die as we know it if the Americans dont go running in and conquer all. from what i see, based on history is that that since WW2 the US superpower has had a very grey track record. i think some world cultures might be starting to assess if the product is worth the cost, and to what benefits they are reaping from it. and for the record: im thankful to the US for what they did to help other countries in WW2, i think they saved australia's butt. i am not anti-american, and i am not trying to raise anarchy. i am just replying to the topic at hand, in my views.

    oooh, where to begin..................
  13. ok, after all these years, and reading billions of CJ's, i want to know once and for all how many of you actually play the game when you build these cities, and how many of just simply plop and model your cities? i assume that there is 2 types of CJ's here, and i will now explain what i am talking about model: absolutely everything is plopped and controlled. the game isnt actually played as such, and the city is built to look a certain way and stay a certain way. ie: when a member with a paris-themed W2W city just plops the entire city to control how it looks. these cities for example, are built not to grow, but are just pre-designed from the start, and are more CJ friendly/ designed to be used more like a display city for photos and pics. and if your city is built in such a way, how do you control that city? do you pause the game so the game mechanics dont abandon the buildings? is traffic and data stats out of control? played: this type of city is more the player 'reacting' to demands, controlling problems, and is growing the city from a single point. it will not be perfect, it may have lots of traffic problems, and it is high maintenance and very demanding of your time to keep improving it. now, if my assumptions are right, there are lots of cities/CJ's here built just to please the eye, and be photogenic. however, if a lot of these paris, w2w themed cities are played cities, do you strictly control plugins, game content, and bulldoze a lot to get the buildings you want? i would love to heare feedback from a lot of CJ authors here, and i would love to know if there CJ's are either one or the other, and/or a mixture of both.
  14. Legalization of cannabis

(bringing it down to basic roots) - it's a plant. it's created by nature. try banning and eradicating mother nature and you will probably fail - it is already embedded in human society. accept it and move on. i dont smoke it, and don't enjoy it. however, millions do. how about just accepting it as a human practice and saving ourselves time, money and resources in trying to erradicating it.
  15. JIGSAW'S 'J-SPEC' 2010 MODERN TILESETS

sort your back catalogue once, then it's done for good. as you get new stuff, mod it to work properly. then, the game will be changed forever
  16. JIGSAW'S 'J-SPEC' 2010 MODERN TILESETS

the styles reflect the modern era as such. suburbia would be part of mod-western.
  17. Massive Icelandic Volcano

it looks like mother nature is backing the BA air stewards strike!
  18. well i will add to my original post to keep this puppy alive: i have developed a theory that Modellers are both artists, and/or controlling types, to make a single visual statement. they have a plan, they have a goal, with minimal flexibility or reaction for the unexpected. whereas, growers are more reactive, problem solving types who are more like managing the city instead of absolute control. not making a visual statement per se, but deal with what ever happens good or bad. neither are better or worse than the other, just different. your thoughts?
  19. Jurassic Park

    looks great. well done
  20. SC4 .Icons for Windows

they are not for ingame, they are FROM the ingame, they are just icons for windows files and folders. the ideas is that you can use a visual icon for plugins storage
  21. SC4 .Icons for Windows

    Version 1.0

    1,604 Downloads

i made these the other day just for fun. i have used them in my plugins collection and archive, as i store them in a structure similar to how the are found in the game. these have been donated just for a bit of fun, i have actually used them as icons in my archive as the pictures show. they have been saved in the windows .ico format so they are proper icons. originally sourced from the simcity1.dat
