TheCrybKeeper replied to Odainsaker's topic in SC4 - Custom Content
Debusseyman: Now that is one I liked. As with many good buildings there it was unavailable. I think the good BATters of Japan, migrated to here, at Simtropolis, maybe? The Fishing village is top notch! There is a link you can download that one from here in this thread above. -
YES! I downloaded Quintessa. It's GRandastic! I also rated it and commented. I wish more members would return to their fav Files and rate them accordingly. Thank you, Tjin21!

I do like your idea for this, but that rating system will be unfair, if only based on pages and respones? and then calculate the two? not good. What if I spend a whole page on just critics and suggestions to improve the CJ? this would end up benefitting the journalist, when it should not. Ratings should be based on these things. the individual evaluates, similar to the STEX. It actually is illogical to rate a CJ, without the audience being able to rate it, based on a designated scale; like the STEX allows. Based on quality of content, by the author. Based on active updates=example: once a week. Based on proper use of the regulations. Do you see where this is going yet? Confusing isn't it. THere really is, only one logical way to rate a CJ: the readers must do it, as individuals.

Show us your most unique and creative transportation network!
TheCrybKeeper replied to Dr. Neitchskrimfrauwnmoya's topic in SC4 Showcase
Well I attempted to show in other threads, the absolute math that causes most efficient transportation, but it was considered by most, to be boring and repetative. Too bad cause the formula actually does cause 100% success! The NAM, only enhances this formula, as I have discovered after a couple of weeks using it. 2x3x4x6x12. leveled to one boring elevation, in entire region. stick with this formula and ALL(seriously) objects in the game, will fall in an exact designated position, even the roads and aves. then any city you make can be imported around the region and will connect up anywhere, every nook and cranny The problem is it is not realistic, as compared to real cities. A bigger problem is; real cities have problems because of improper planning and SimCity4 was meant to solve a real cities dilemmas. Thus when doing this, you get a huge gridded, boring, but maxed out city. I think it should get you 1,000,000 residents without cheats or mods. Never got that far myself yet. Okay, now go ahead and holler at me, I know this is not the way we like our cities to look in Simtrop Universe. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//HeavSentrl3e.jpg align=baseline> https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//HeavSentrl4d.jpg align=baseline> Visit our crash site at Terracai City of planet Nucladius https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//TerraceiCityJ1dgg.jpg align=baseline> -

AHHHHH what?????/ I asked a question. how is that an insult? ARE they kids? you know young adults? they look like they are.......TO ME, IMO. How can my opinion be an insult? lonaryl said: Unless you are Japanese yourself, which you clearly aren't, don't judge them. Did not judge anyone?!?!?!? I critiqued them. I know what judge means. to a Hebrew, it is very different than you just used it. You cannot judge someone, without also passing a judgement or penalty. I did not go to that website and cause a havoc, or punishment on the Japanese! By the way I am VERY honest(this is a must for me). I did say; I liked the fishing village. It looks very authentic and I DL'ed it. So sorry, if you all think I was rude. I will say nada more. -

JUST WANTED TO SAY, I have been there and am familiar with the japanese symbols. I looked all over that site for about 30 min. now. Are the japanese batters children? every lot, except this fishing village above, looked horribly unattractive. I looked through 28 pages in their exchange and just got... well,... ill. Yep, Muzz; I looked at those, multi-colored, new wave, psychodelic, not even close to real, cargo ships. made me dizzy -

Modernism and the Argument of Form follows Function
TheCrybKeeper replied to Motina's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Fellow simtropolians. this would be a great debate for http://www.allphilosophy.com My mouth drools, as I resist commenting to this. However, I really shouldn't, because I see everything as B&W no grey areas here. That is why I am too logical in my city design, thus the boring blocky blundering style, I have. I love functionality!....Uh-oh, guess I did comment didn't I. -
So silly of me. I totally understand MC. I had a case of, Fatigual Temporal Dyslexia, or lack of sleep, most likely. Lalil. Thanks for helping.

OOPS! You all may have noticed; I have used every plug-in worth having and all props and textures were created by various members. I then used the LE to play around with these a bit. Purple is for royalty, but I figured , these folks deserve the royal treatment. So many thanks and tons of appreciation go out to: Pegusus, Pmiller, Equinox, Deadwoods,Shmails,SimGoober,BarbyW,GasCooker, all things CSX, all things BSC, MrBisonm,...well, Thanks to all for just about everything worth getting on the STEX! My thirst for this game has returned, SOLELY based on, this site and it's many BATters. so sorry for posting twice in a row. -
I have corrected the link, but still not working. The thread may be closed, for posting to it? Not sure what, but you can view it Called: Making Terrains with Bryce5.5, in this same appended forum. DAZ Productions bought Bryce5 from Corel and polished it up a bit and re-released it as Bryce5.5 it only cost you $115.00 U.S. with a PayPal account. Here is the link: http://www.daz3d.com Is it worth that amount? a big YES! If you want things to be unusual. Gmax is free, but it will make you ill, when you see how horribly limited, Gmax really is, as compared to Bryces abilities. For the price of two PC games, I can get B5.5 and make my own PC games, animations and game graphics. No other legitimate graphics utility, can boast that much power and flexibility, at such a low price! Must get Bryce and have a slice of nice. P.S. I also post my Bryce stuff in my CJ, as it relates to my city, of course. hmmm, except that last post in my CJ. Maybe I should delete that post. I could post a larger version of my avatar? If anyone is interested, I try to, only post images, in my CJ. Link below and yeah, it works this time. MallowtheCloud: I do agree there. The free tools are perfect and all that is really neccessary. My thoughts: I have Photoshop 5.5/ 7.0/ CS, Macromedia Freehand 10, Rhino3.0, Poser4, Z-brush, Adobe Illustrator CS, Flamingo 2.0 and one other in-expensive Program called Bryce5.5. Bryce is reknowned for it's ability to make Terrains and is really only rivaled by Terragen. Look at my thread. link below. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=66295

Official Mapping Community Requests
TheCrybKeeper replied to RadioheadFan's topic in Mapping Community Room
Well, since I have roamed in everywhere else. Might as well here too. I like unusual maps and unique landscapes. Seems like the majority posting to the Squad, like more accurate real world maps. I make my maps using Bryce5.5 terrain editor. billions of possibilities with this powerful editor and making more accurate topographicals than some I have seen on the STEX. My Bryce software and Adobe software, are legal software and registered with the developer. Do not get me all wrong. I love the Mapp Squad submissions, they are all wonderful artworks! If you will allow me? I would like to post some examples of my maps, in a designated thread? And,...a question. It says in the Members information thread; members who are in-active for a period of time, will be removed, or something close to that.Is there a specific time period? Just curious for now. Thank you in advance and any comments are humbly appreciated. -

Chapter 4 The Little Flashback Yes, it does seem that we've jumped ahead of ourselves a bit. Let us go back a year or so.... The Nucladians had established a small community by this time. They branched inward, from the crash site. Towards the great twin lakes of Bodii crater. Fresh water was more scarce than fresh dirt, on this barren rock continent. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//sujfgu34h.jpg align=baseline> It never rained on this odd planet. All the days long were hot and muggy yet the native plant life could scarcely survive, in such rocky footing. At night as the waters cooled, a mist would fall and blanket everything in dew. This was the only means of drinking water, or any fresh water for that matter. The plan was set into motion. Water was pumped from Twin lake One and the pipe circled the cliffs for several miles. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Terracai-City15x.jpg align=baseline>The dews of twilight, as they were soon named, were collected in various ingenius ways. Then the water was piped back to the lake and filtered back to the sitizens. Any excess water, was treated and released into Twin One. The Sitizens of Terracai realized very soon; their choice topsoil would come from the bottom soil. The bottom of that very same lake, that is. The more fresh dirt they mined the deeper and larger the fresh water basin became. As they graded and leveled the harsh rock, the stepped terraces began to take shape. Any nutrient rich soil the Nucladians gleened, was shipped to the farming industry. Rocks however seemed quite varatious and plentiful and soon became the beauty mark, of this not so green, continent. Rock was also processed and poured into the ocean. This was a great plan, for discarding the extra rubble and the land grew outward, ever so slowly. The multicolored stone was used by every sitizen, to make their residence and businesses look attractive. Without the fertile soil, nothing beautiful grew so well. Naturally, rock gardens, became the best alternative. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Terracai-City54x.jpg align=baseline> As they mined and terraced and filled, the Terracain Nucladian Sitizens, also sent out explorator parties, to map the land and search for new soil, water and the DarkArco City2. Vresii was the best explorator ever and his childhood friend, Brensii rounded out a perfect set of, soil sniffers. To be continued..... https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Terracai-City414x.jpg align=baseline>
