  1. Orion's Belt Modpack | Bigger Cities Made Easy!

It would be nice if you gave a bit more detail in your description of your problem, such as if you were building in the Project Orion build area (the 4K box) or in your regular city tile. For the time being, I would suggest a reinstall of the modpack by using the uninstaller in your SimCityData folder named "Uninstall Orion's Belt" and re-downloading the pack and reinstalling it.     This is the Orion's Belt Modpack. If you download the modpack, or even bothered to read the description, you would clearly see that there is an option for Mac users. If you're still puzzled over the difference between Orion's Belt and Project Orion, this is a modpack with the basic mods, including Project Akar and others, to build in the region, but the other is a single mod which makes the city boundary bigger.     You should be extracting the "MANUAL INSTALLATION (For Mac Users as well).zip" folder into your base \SimCity\ folder, or you can copy the files from the folders in the manual installation folder into your SimCityData or SimCityUserData\Packages folders.     Thanks... I've extracted the files in the places you've mentioned but there is no change in gameplay. Like the mods have not been introduced to the program at all. Thoughts?

I've followed the instructions carefully, is there a specific folder to drop the mod files into? I drop them into the SimcityData folder for mac

  5. Griffon, I have both wealth levels in both towers. I think part of my problem may be needing more that one office level. If I have multiple apartment levels, the jobs are filled before all sims have an opportunity for work. This makes it difficult to keep an appropriate balance. I also have mall levels with no shoppers despite multiple apartment levels of the appropriate wealth levels. It seems as if all the needs should be met, but the sims are not traveling between levels.
  6. In regards to #3... I have a grade school, high school, maxed out with school buses. I still have this issue. I'm not sure if it's a distance or traffic issue. The grade school is equidistant between my two towers (one regular one elite). The HS is directly next to my elite tower and doesn't max out its desks, but my apartment levels (and regular residential areas) complain about not being able to go to school. This leads me to believe that it is a traffic issue. I've developed maglevs, and city buses but it doesn't seem to help. I also have a community college. I get messages about sims commuting into my city to go to school, but the sims in my own city aren't able to go. This doesn't line up with my traffic problem theory because if the can commute in, what can't the get across the street?
  7. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one having issues with MegaTowers. I've heard it suggested that perhaps EA allows stuff that should make sense to go haywire as a way to keep people playing. Does that even make sense? Here's my strategy. My megatowers are placed only to fulfill a need in my city. For example, I had a need for low wealth workers so I placed a $ apartment level first. What I've found is that the megatowers are more useful/successful with 3-4 levels at the most. After that, they go screwy. Furthermore, I have needs in one tower (i.e. an office level that needs workers) that should be fulfilled by resources in another (i.e. sims in apartment levels in need of jobs) yet there is absolutely ZERO traffic on my skybridge. I also have a good public transportation network set up with Maglev and buses. Any suggestions? In regards to power, I only use solar levels to address the needs of each individual tower. I don't allow my city to depend on the towers to power the rest of the city. The standard nuclear plant usually does the trick for me. You may need one upgrade to it depending on your needs. That way, I always have access power if someone deletes a crown level in the region or if I need to bulldoze a level. I have also found that diversifying your city will offset your cost and help you stay afloat while you figure things out. I usually have a recycling center and export alloy, plastics, and metals to keep income coming in. I also made some tourist buildings but I'm also having trouble getting enough visitors despite a municipal airport, and ferry. Any thoughts?
