  1. I started a post on simcity.com on the great works. Mostly just Space Center is bugged on certain regions, but I'm working slowly on testing other regions. Turns out there are very few that work with space center. http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/10047999.page
  2. That is actually the same hing as sccalc.exe. It is by the same author and it was originally this google doc, bu he converted it to the .exe so others wanted a version they could download and use. http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/9412034.page Actually, the game only cares about low-wealth workers. If you keep them satisfied, then the game is happy. as for the fudge population numbers, they are just scaled to the game for realism. I don't know why there is much fuss bout this, the whole game is scaled everywhere, as is every simulation ever made. I just assumed the numbers were a representation of total agents. It's probably not too far off considering almost every aspect of the game is using it. I agree though, that scaling the population numbers just adds confusion to the game and is unneeded. But as Cob92 has already stated, the population ---> details tab has the actual numbers of your population, relatively speaking.
  3. Not sure what exactly you need help with, but generally speaking I just make checkerboard dirt roads with avenues box around my city. Just make sure you don't zone the avenues. They are used for traffic so you don't want any buildings facing towards the avenue. Remember a single low-wealth. high-density building can have up to 700 residents coming out of it all at once.(400 workers+200 Shoppers+ 100 Students). so as you can see it can create a lot of traffic, not to mention when they come home having them stopped in the road to make left turns causing traffic to backup. This way they backup the side streets instead. Later in the game I usually bisect the city with another avenue down the middle and if traffic is still too hectic I may make a perpendicular intersection making a plus sign. I find the more intersections you have, the more options traffic can move around and find alternate routes more easily.
  4. yes, you should mix R and C thoroughly. The best way is staggered. The single rows just don't seem to work very well and cause lots of traffic. A ration of 3R to 1C seems perfect. You may need more R if you place Industry (I). RRRCRRRC CRRRCRRR RCRRRCRR RRCRRRCR CCCCCCCC RRRRRRRR RRRRRRRR RRRRRRRR CCCCCCCC RRRRRRRR RRRRRRRR RRRRRRRR CCCCCCCC As you can see, the staggered has a better flow for the sims than row houses mode. Hope this helps. -=Mark=-
  5. There is no limit, which is a major problem with multi-player games. They leave after one gaming session to never return ruining the whole region. Hopefully the devs put a timer on the cities, but since there has been no real game patches in over a year, I seriously doubt there will be any more fixes coming. Which is sad as there a tons of minor fixes that could be implemented if they focused on the small stuff for just one patch. It's really sad too, as MP works the best and is the most enjoyable part of the game, longevity wise.
  6. Project Orion - 3k Extended Boundary

Can someone explain this to me: Yes you can zone residential, commercial, industrial outside, in one condition, you need connect the tile's original roads with the regional roads. I built a square dirt road around the border of the city then rebooted the PC. Then I drew a regional dirt road starting at the corner of the original square dirt road then out to the region.  But no zoning at all except the outside border of the original square dirt road on the north and east side only.  I tried drawing a dirt, low-medium-high density road and all fail to zone.  I can plop most things and sometimes only randomly.  Couldn't add trucks to depot, but I could add all 8 buses to shuttle bus.  I couldn't add trucks to the recycling center, but I could add, bulldoze the recycling add-ons.
  7. I just downloaded this to test out and I used the auto-installer, but when I get into the game in offline mode, I can't seem to plop outside the city limits. Is the auto-installer working correctly? I have Simcity Deluxe edition only, no dlc other than free stuff. I use windows 8 x64 if that matters. I'll look a little closer into later, just though I'd give a heads up incase there is an error with installer. Edit: I figured it out. There are extra icons on the main page of the UI. I still can't plop though. I tried the special sewage pipe, wind power, and water tower. But none could find a snap point. I also noticed that the water flows outside the city, but only for the first block. I know I made short square boxed roads outside the borders first, then added more roads sizes for more plop testing of all road types. I can't seem to plop to any road type.
  8. The space center is severely bugged on several maps, but it does work on certain maps just fine. Other Great Works have this issue as well. Here's a link to the maps that work or don't work. http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/10047999.page It's a work in progress, so it isn't complete yet, but it does cover all regions for the Space Center.
  9. I've been doing some testing on space center as I can't get it to work on some regions, whjile others seem to work fine. Space center success: Edgewater Bay Cape Trinity Verdant Hungle Space Center failure: Desolation Whitewater Valley Titan Gorge Rambling Badlands A couple of regions have had both success and failure. I think it may be related to a very old game or maybe certain cities works as each region can have up to 4 sub regions, so maybe a sub region thing as well. Good luck
  10. Tech levels have been bugged for a long time. Since CoT there seems to be limited tech amounts and will only really supply tech to a couple of electronics buildings, or nuclear, or industry. It wson't supply enouigh for everyone anymore. If you look at your tech level map only a couple of electronics building will have tech levels and the rest have none. I have two processor plants and two high density industry next to each other for a test. and they all 4 can't max out and with two universities and one college with no add-ons and over 4,000 students. Here's an early image. I ended up maxing out the university at level 5 with excess students totaling almost 9,000. Still stayed the same tech. http://imageshack.com/a/img543/8896/41p9.jpg But I've noticed tech bugging out even at 7.0, but not to this extent. at least I got 90% tech 3 industry, and 90% electronics factories running 100%
  11. When I was having this issue, it turned out to be my neighbors helping me pick up trash. Do you see any regional garbage trucks in the morning helping you collect trash?
