Where would I find the .SC4M and gray scale.jpg files?

I was playing the game earlier, and saved my city, the game was taking a long time to save so I alt+tabbed out (pretty stupid idea really) while waiting. When I came back, the game was bugging out graphically, switching into region view of the city, both satellite and transport before going back into in-city view, except the terrain was black. The notification came up the the city saved and I clicked OK. I went to play again just now and the actual tile that the city sits on is missing. So there is this big hole in the middle of my region. I checked my Region folder and the city is still listed there, so is it possible I can make it playable again?

wow, just looked at the last couple pages of this thread and your cities are really amazing!!

i have a 1920x1080 monitor, and I want to get Simcity 4 running in that resolution, how do I do that? Currently it's at 1280x1024, which is the highest it can go in the games graphical options, I tried changing it in the config log but it just reverted next time I started the game. I'm running Simcity 4 Deluxe Edition from Steam on Windows 7 if that helps.
