The Presence Of Being - a MrC CJ - The End
simzebu replied to MrCinatit's topic in SC4 City Journals
No... Quite the opposite... I love the warning they put on lighter fluid: "Contents may be flammable." Well I should hope so... Anyway, great update, MrC -
nope. That's a limitation of the grid in simcity4. Sorry. I suppose you could make custom lots that overhang onto the road, which would make the road appear narrow.

Is there a Ground Highway to Elevated Highwy mod?
simzebu replied to nathanscottdaniels's topic in New Members Information
Um.. the first thing you say when you are new somewhere generally shouldn't be "I despise you." -
Have you downloaded anything? Have you gotten the updates from simcity.com? What are your computer specs? My guess would be that either there's a conflict with downloads or your files are corrupted. For the first one, just remove things one at a time until the problem goes away. If it's the second, you'll have to re-install.

numbchuckwoods: You need to transfer the RHW to oneway first, and then build off of that. For example: RRRRRROOORRRRR ------------OOOO R is RHW O is oneway. Draw the oneway after the RHW to make it connect. rodent1989: Regular, at grade, full-access highways, you're right. But on an Interstate or the like (which is closer to the RHW's intent), it's quite the opposite. When Interstates get rural, the ramps can get quite long and smooth.

You are probably experiencing the bug with puzzle pieces and transit enabled lots. When you have a puzzle piece selected, make sure you don't put your cursor over any transit enabled lots (light rail stations, road top mass transit, etc.) and the problem should go away. As for putting regular rail in the middle: It is certainly possible. However, and I may be wrong on this, it probably wouldn't happen in real life. There would be too many crossings and too many people too close to the train for it to be safe, especially a freight train. However, there are lots that will switch your rail line into a GLR line.

I saw this in this morning's paper. God, that's scary. It looks just like Albany's Patroon Island Bridge. I really wish Departments of Transportation would start listening to their own reports. We had an overpass collapse a few years ago. We later found out that the DOT had been rating it poorly for years. Looks like the I-35W bridge was getting poor ratings too. Its sad when these things happen, but just tragic when they could have been prevented.

Real Highway (RHW) - Development and Support
simzebu replied to qurlix's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
Yes, let's not argue about this... again. It's really obnoxious. Let's just stick to the RHW, and if you want to bciker, go somewhere else.- 3,919 Replies

Agreed. It isn't that important, and if you don't like it, don't use it. Great work, Ace and Voltaire

I think there's a project for that somewhere either here or at SC4Devotion. I don't think it's anywhere near release just yet.

Show us your most unique and creative transportation network!
simzebu replied to Dr. Neitchskrimfrauwnmoya's topic in SC4 Showcase
Wow. There are what, 11 roads there? I'd have just done a giant traffic circle. Very giant. Also, you should limit your images to 800x600 -

The Presence Of Being - a MrC CJ - The End

*Gasp!* Wonderful update, MrC. Hope your new system turns out okay! -
Read the readme. You have to demolish the middle four tiles (The ones with no road on them) of the avenue roundabout, then place the fillers from the Misc. Transit menu.

I can only think of two examples of frontage roads in the Albany area, and both are to roads rather than highways. Frontage Rd., Bethlehem, NY Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY That first one barely qualifies. Though I can see the reason for it. That whole place is a mess. And possibly even worse is the part just to the south, where 32 splits off and 9W keeps going, 9W narrows down to one lane, but it clearly needs too. And when they put in the Wal*Mart only a few years ago, they had the whole road ripped up from Glenmont Rd. to 32, and all they did was put in a suicide lane. Bunch of idiots.

I think saying "Asian" when talking about a middle-easterner isn't very good. Not many people picture a middle easterner when they think Asian. Nor do they think of an Indian or a Russian.

Ohmygod! I'm watching the live BBC feed right now. They just said one of the terrorists was still fighting even though his clothes were on fire. This is terrible. They also said there was another "suspect device" at the hospital where one of the men was taken. I'm not sure whether they were talking about a terrorist or a civillian, but they said police are "dealing with it."

Real Highway (RHW) - Development and Support

also, would it be possible to make a ramp go into the transition? In other words, the added lane comes from the exit rather than out of nowhere?- 3,919 Replies

It's a modular pack. There are various pieces. Walls, fillers, etc. You place those down next to each other and make your own design. Sort of like the canal packs, only with more things. Then, you place the jetways along the terminal.

you need to demolish three tiles of RHW, and draw One Way Road in their place. With the latest RHW, it should connect.

^^Not if your forces are spread as thin as ours, and they are stacking up theirs, so I wouldn't bet on it. On the plus side, Sr. Bush is to busy in Iraq/n right now to worry about Venezuela. So unless he can find some way to place terrorists there, we won't be fighting them.
