So who's planning on playing in the beta this weekend?

I think this weekend's beta will do a lot in determining whether or not I purchase the game. After doing research, and watching the developer videos, I will say I'm extremely excited for this game. The prospects of individual A.I for citizens will hopefully come through, providing fresh and unforeseen scenarios in the game. I'm also stoked at the aspects of creating "themed" cities, allowing you to expand exactly what you want to create a city for. I'm torn on the online only aspect of the game, but I do like the idea of regions and working together with others to trade resources and utilize teamwork to thrive. My only reservation, and one that will either turn me away or not is map size. Which we'll really be able to experience firsthand this weekend during the beta.

Hi everybody. I'm a long time SimCity fan, even if I did miss out on SimCity 4 ( I played up until Sim City 3000). I'm really just a big fan of strategy games in general. I've played everything from Simcity, to Civilization, Alpha Centauri, and even Star Wars: Rebellion (if anyone remembers that). Right now I'm playing X-COM: Enemy Unknown. I'm pretty excited about Sim City 5, even though I'm not a huge fan of the always online mechanic, the game just looks too fun and impressive to pass up. Came here looking to find some peeps to play the game with when it comes out because none of my IRL friends are really into SimCity. Hope to see you all around.

It's funny. I was looking for a community that was going to get people together to play. My IRL friends aren't SimCity fans, but definitely want to play this with people who want to build some cities up. Origin Name: JohnnyV84
