@Popewize I agree if it were to be skyscrapers. Most of the buildings on Gadget Island were mid-rises. There are alot of cities in Europe that are planning to destroy large parts of existing urban areas for new urban areas. The urban areas that they are planning to destroy are often inhabited by the social class and are often considered problematic areas fi in terms crime. In Rotterdam for instance they are planning to destroy the entire urban village of Crooswijk for a new modern urban development that will meet today's citizen demands. The demands are bigger homes with more space, buildings with elevators more space for parks and so on. Thank you all for the feedback!

The project is half completed according to the project manager Jason Arrango. The city council of Gatwick has changed the plans of the avenue a bit says Arrango. The council wants to add flags and small fountains to the avenue in so to bring an international appeal. The change of plans will costs the council nearly 1 million dollars. Ambitious Gadget Island Urban Masterplan Approved An ambitious urban Masterplan for Gadget Island is aprroved by Gatwick City Council. The booming economy of the city and the growing traffic congestion is requiring more homes near jobs says Martin van Dussen of Gatwick Department of Urban Planning. According to van Dussen the plans for Gadget Island was long in the works and heavily debated in Gatwick City Council. The debate is not on whether the plan is good for Gatwick city but on the price tag. The master plan will require 7 billion dollars in investment money that neither the city of Gatwick nor New Brunswick metro council have at the moment. The National Bank of Molokai and Gatwick City Bank have agreed on financing 5 billion dollars. The remaining 2 billion dollars will be allocated by tax payers money of the metro area. Gadget Island will again be detached from the mainland. The island will be expanded more towards sea while giving broad room for a water passage between the mainland and the island. Gadget island will be connected with 2 additional bridges and a monorail overpass. The majority of the homes on Gadget Island do not meet city residents requirements of today. The masterplan calls to demolish all but 5 percent of the buildings on the island for the construction of new residential buildings. A central park will be constructed in the center of the island together with a small commercial area. Included in the plans are also a marina, school, library, modern bus stops, a subway line and plazas. The present residents of Gadget Island will relocate temporarily to other areas in the metro until the project is completed. In the forefront Gadget Island, most of the buildings will be demolished for new residential buildings and the island be detached from the mainland. Gadget Island master plan finally approved after over a decade of debate and agreements with building owners. Urban Gatwick Gatwick continues to urbanize with striking architecture. In the last year alone 3 skyscrapers and countless mid-rises were constructed. Atari District Waterfront Park Approved The 20 million dollar Atari District is approved by Gatwick City Council. The park will be constructed alongside the waterfront of the district and will provide much needed relaxation for the residents of the district. Residents are still debating for a suitable name for the park..

  17. Stratburg, creating a World Class City.

Stratburg Game Play, Stratburg was built partly by using some of the mods downloaded from simtropolis, there is no money cheat. Realistic! Introduction Once a small quaint town North of my island map, the little village called Cape Cove Ville with 8,000 inhabitants is transforming into a city. The government of the island Molokai (region name of my map) has decided to further develop Cape Cove Ville into a vibrant and classy metropolis of the North. Furthermore Cape Cove Ville will be renamed Stratburg. Named after Sir Edward Strat from Britain who first discovered the island and set foot in the village he called Cape Cove because of the shape of the area on which the city was located. Stratburg should have the function of business capital of North Molokai, it will have its own international airport, stock exchange branch and a few corporate headquarters. Present day Stratburg It is the year 176 in Stratburg. The city has grown from 8,000 inhabitants and peaked out at 210,000 inhabitants in the year 154. Today Stratburg has 167,000 inhabitants. The population drop is attributed in part to the changing social aspects of the city. The city is attracting many wealthy folks, at least 80,000 people in Stratburg are from the higher class, while approximately 60,000 are from the middle. The drop is also attributed to the demolishment of entire neighborhoods for commercial space and new residential. Stratburg has an aging population, most people that live in Stratburg are above the age of 50. Clearly the city of Stratburg wants to see changes in that and wants to attract more younger folks. To do so the city must provide more recreation facilities nearby residential zones, better schools and sporting facilities. The quality of life in Stratburg is high. The average commute time in the year 176 stands at 8 minutes which is rather acceptable. There is no monorail, and no underground metro system as of yet. The city has 2 train stations 1 is located in downtown and the other in the Arts District. Stratburg goal The goal is to convert Stratburg into an important metropolis of the North. A thriving city where improving the quality of life of its citizens stands high on the agenda. A city where Stratburgens could live, work, recreate and most importantly enjoy and call with pride home. On the international agenda Stratburg should compete with other cities. Stratburg will strive to gain the title World Class City. The idea is to have have a metropolitan area of at least 4 million people. Downtown Stratburg With the decision on converting Stratburg into a metropolis of the North coast numerous important decisions had to be made on city planning. It is decided to expand downtown Stratburg with high density commercial development. In the North Western quadrant of downtown a huge park was created in order to improve the quality of life of Stratburgens. The park has a man made pond, a waterfall, 6 tennis courts, a soccer field and an open treeless area in the center for Stratburgens to sunbath. The huge park is considered the longs of the city and a place of tranquility. In the core of downtown the Empire State Building was erected which now stands as a landmark for downtown. Downtown's function is mainly that of a place to work. Roughly 70% of the land there is designated for commercial use and 30% for residential. Midtown Stratburg Midtown Stratburg was created 30 years ago in the height of Stratburg great boom. Because there was a lack of land for commercial development in downtown. It was decided by the city council of Stratburg to build two artificial islands just off shore of downtown. These 2 islands are divided by channels from each other and the mainland, and are connected with each other and the mainland by bridges. The creation of both islands has boost the attractiveness of Stratburg. Pleasure boats often pass through the channels with Stratburgens and tourists admiring the art deco architecture and the city skyline. The creation of the islands was inspired by the development of the city Amsterdam in The Netherlands. Later another smaller island was created to the South of both islands, here is where the baseball stadium of the city is constructed. Home of the baseball team the Stratburg Capricorns. Midtown is a mix of commerce and residential 50/50. The City Hall of Stratburg was moved from downtown to Midtown. And the Chrysler building was erected serving as a landmark for Midtown. The Chrysler building is not just a landmark. During every 4th of July thousands of Straburgens flock to Midtown to watch the 4th of July fireworks display. The fireworks are lighted from the top of the Chryserler building. Stratburg Arts District. In the last 10 years the Arts District was created to the North East of the city. The Arts District is next to downtown's boarder. The Arts District was previously a rundown area of town. The 1st phase of demolishing buildings in the Arts District is achieved and new residential and commercial land was designated for development. An avenue was created that links downtown and runs right through the center of Arts District. Along side the avenue a few cinema's, the city's Museum of Art and the city's Opera House were constructed. Arts District has the function of an artsy neighborhood where artist and performers live. There is also an arts park in the center of the district where performers play in open air. The 2nd and final phase of the masterplan Arts District will be concluded before the year 185. Stratburg Park Side Park Side is a brand new Urban Division Masterplan that was approved by city council just recently. Park Side will be constructed North of the city park. Park Side will bring value to the combination parks and urbanity. The masterplan calls for the creation of a mid rise residential area and a few commercial lots. Ratio 90% residential and 10% commercial. Park Side will be an urban hood filled with parks, fountains, small plaza
  18. Stratburg, creating a World Class City.

The plans call for the construction of a Boulevard with trees, flowers, parks, plaza, restaurants, a long beach, a marina, seaport village, condominiums, ferry terminal to Stratburg city, parking garage, a manmade island with expensive mid-rises and hotels. Stratburg will spend 800 million sim dollars on the project that will include investemnts on infrastructure and rearranging the land for a beach. The private sector will invest nearly 1 billion sim dollars in construction of hotels, restaurants and other services. Site plan Tallest tower outside of Stratburg city limits The town of Belevedare in the borough of Belvedare is flourishing thanks to great infrastructure connection with the city of Stratburg. The tall corporate high-rise is the first for Belvedare. However don't count on more to come at least not taller than that. Belvedare has strict height restrictions imposed after the permit was granted for this tower. Construction tallest tower in Belvedare borough. Tallest tower in downtown Belvedare

Its awesum. THe lightning is good and realistic. The windows are already green, so when the light inside the building is on it portraits green on the outside, that does not mean that the lights are green in the inside. Special windows, nice job!

  23. Stratburg, creating a World Class City.

The Stratburger Belvedare booms as Stratburg expands outward. Belvedare a small village north of Stratburg by-pass is feeling the demand for inexpensive homes. The once sleeply village is now booming with new housing and commericial development. Still urban rather than suburban, the goal of Stratburg city council is to develop Belvedare into a huge urban center with affordable homes and lots of green. Valid for Belvedare is height restrictions (not allowing thus the construction of skyscrapers). Stratburg, Belvedare village booming with affordable urban construction. Belevedare construction boom near Stratburg by-pass. Belvedare located at the North of the Stratburg by-pass will eventually dominate the entire island with urbanity. At least 300,000 people will eventually call Belvedare a borough of Stratburg home.
