Excellent work on the Pancake House. It will be a great addition to the "small" town commercial area's ... alongside an avenue or a side road through a national park ... Great BAT, well executed!

As with most of your maps they offer very diverse option of playability. That is something I really like about your maps. With the great custom terrain textures available it is a joy to create a region with both attention for cities and landscapes ... this maps adds to that. Thank you for creating and sharing.

Dirk, I am sorry you feel obligated to delete both my messages. I also regret you seem to know me wll enough to entitle me as being frustrated. Let me correct this for you ... I am not. I made a promise to Mike and I kept my promise, if that is in breech with the policies you have, of course, every right to delete it. I do think this is a ST matter ... which would have been clear to you too if you had read the entiure two posts. You might have read them, but without a comment on the contents I can not be sure. Unfortunately people are now not capable of being informed about issues that do involve Simtropolis ... EITHER SUMMARIZE THE RELEVANT ISSUES THAT AFFECT SIMTROPOLIS OR DO NOT POST ANYTHING AT ALL. WE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN READING WHATEVER MELODRAMA PLAYED OUT AT OTHER SITES. -dirk

Frustrated? Sorry ... but you should have read it
NicolaiS replied to NicolaiS's topic in Community Goings-on
Calling somebody frustrated is not my idea of being polite. Also ... this is not a crusade. The relevancy for simtropolis was summarized rather well by jacqulina, and it also was deleted. These are all members from Simtropolis that are allowed to be in the clutches of a banned Simtropolis member. The relevancy is in the posts you deleted ... marcosmx constantina mightygoose glenni ThatMonkeySim Shadow_Assassin van1357 justanothersim86 shivsood crushedcar fukuda villavicencio heydenx Frankie_Grove rotary_spd seanlax5 palpatine001 northcountrydude SC4Meister cowkilla zander yoman3 ah123ah123 CGII cogeo kesslerK09 Lou march4marc MayorTim Patrick qurlix RiverCocytus Simen warpedone -

Jacqulina ... I have saved your post. It does make clear though that certain issues are not "to be discussed", although many people have had to deal with it ... and will have to deal with it as Simtropolis refuses to act to a threat that will also include many other members. I can take care of myself ... but the youngsters are not protected well by this policy of neglect ... Simtroplis does have a responsibility towards other sites, as people flock there from here ... when Staff from Simtropolis is also involved it makes it even more tacky. -
I agree with the Admiral here ... VERY nice indeed. I like the way you incorporate the size of industrial complexes. By splitting the complex in more sections it hs an extra benefit of "preventing" the crime bug which shows up on large lots. I hope you will continue to make this kind of complexes as I find them highly realistic and I love playing with huge industrial area's. One request ... which prop packs have you used for this "monster" ... I recognize a number of them, but most likely not all. EDIT: Disregard my comment about the crime issue ... the four lots included are individually huge too ... crime will increase ... but we have nice mods to tackle that problem. Also ... diregard my question about the dependencies ... they are nicely listed in the Read-me file included in the zip ... Now I am off to play with these

I have been following this thread enthusiastically, being a fan of all types of transportation. Some messages have stumped me a bit. I would like to address Pilotdaryl and ask him to stop trying to becomepart of a project when not invited. As I can see both Yoman3 and Fukuda are perfectly capable of handling this project and if they would want your assistance in the project they will ask you. Asking to hand over models is rather "rude" in my opinion and it makes me wonder what your intentions are. If you want to be part of the project, make a request to participate and let the others decide. Accept that decision. Help is appreciated when offered not when forced upon. This thread is stared by Yoman3 and Fukuda to work out an idea they had. You bump into this and are taking over the thread ... that is not just rude, but very rude! Giving info is probably appreciated, but not starting to present your own experiments with this and taking over the thread. The way you behave can be compared to this: Imagine somebody has baked a cake ... it looks delicious! You are there too ... and the you think: "Hey .. I think I am also able to bake acake". You run of to the kitched and half an hour later you present your cake ... while everybody else is still admiring the first cake. You keep butting in on some stuff becaus of the above described behavior. If you have ideas about how things can by either better or just different, just tell people ... do not immediatley run of and come up with comparable items. It happened elsewhere on the site and it happens again. Enthusiasm is good, it gives energy ... it might encourage others to be also active. But I feel it is not done to come in screaming and kicking taking over a thread. Follow the advise of Yoman3 and start your own thread in which you can show off all your batting qualities, which you ... there is no doubt about that ... absolutely have. A couple posts combined and slightly edited for clarification after other messages were deleted. Mr. C.

Boston Central Artery/Tunnel Project (Big Dig)
NicolaiS replied to blahdy's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
Its not a good idea to change the transit accepting also busses and freight. It has been pointed out before that busses and freight will come out of the tunnel as cars ... which is a bit strange. Technically it is possible to have them enter the tunnel, but they will come out as cars. -

I am a big science fiction fan ... especially in the reading departement. A big fan of SciFi ... a HUGE fan and collector of the Dune series by Frank Harbert. Odainsaker already explained very thoroughly what the Dune Universe is about ... so I will not repeat that. I started reading SciFi when I was about 8 years old and "nicked" the book my father was reading ... Durdane by Jack Vance. In the 30 years since then I have read at least 6 or 700 SciFi novels, some twice ... others a doze times ( Dune ). I own about 400 science fiction novels in either English or Dutch and plan to continue to collect them as long as I live. Watching SciFi in movies or on TV is for me usual a disappointment. Although I like certain movies, like StarWars, they lack the depth most novels have. Exceptions are , in my opinion: Blade Runner, Brazil, Metropolis ( 1927 ), 1984, Soylent Green, Gattaca ... and a few I can not think of right now. My favorite writers are: Frank Herbert ( of course ), Robert A Heinlein, Frederik Pohl, Dan Simmons, Peter Hamilton, Orson Scott Card, Philip K. Dick, K.W. Jeter .... and many many others.

problem with some plugin - file .dat missing
NicolaiS replied to giampilibus's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
I have had a look at the SG Blackbeards Rum Distilleryand opened one of the lot files in the reader. In the right window its shows indeed: "SG_PirateRumDistillery.dat" This has actually nothing to do with needed files for the user but is a clipboard where possible dependency files are stored. In this case the .dat file mentioned has been renamed to "SG_Blackbeardsrum.dat" by the creator. The name hasn't been changed in the clipboard though ... thats where the confusion comes from. The installation install three files ... two lot files and one dat file. If these are in you plugins folder the lots will work as they should. You can discard the info in the "clipboard" window on the ilive reader. My best guess is that for the other items you mentioned something similar has happened. Check for your self if you have installed the items properly: use the installer if it comes with and installer ... check the dependency list from the read-me file included. Test the item in a test city and if all works as it was supposed too you can discard the info from the Reader's clipboard. If it is still troubling you, just send me a PM and we will sort it out. happy gaming -

Getting Windows 98 Games To Run On XP
NicolaiS replied to Sim1013's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Originally posted by: Constantina Just to point out that I remember Windows 98 being made out of a different form of technology called 'shell' (not the petrol company).
