This update is an introduction to the county in which Redwood is located... although really I'll only be showing one town... Port Stirling, located directly south of the central city of Redwood. Here we are in Isla Sucre, a small island off the coast of the Guajira peninsula. If you want to learn about the Guajira peninsula, check out my 5th update that has old pictures from my thread in the forum CJ section. Above is a map showing the location of Isla Sucre, and the nearby resort island, Isla Morena. And now, we'll head to an even smaller island in the Bay of Sucre... I hope you liked it.

This is probably my favorite update so far. Everything is just so beautiful.... makes me wanna go to Amsterdam again :)

This update is about Parapilla and Uriba. Parapilla is a beach resort town on the Bay of Sucre, and it is very popular with spring break tourists. Nearby is the more quiet and serious town of Uriba. Thanks for reading this update!

Here's another update of Santa Leon. I know I was going to update San Lorenzo (which will soon be known as "The State of New Cholula" since I'm expanding that CJ!) but for some reason I also want to update this CJ. I'm juggling two CJs at once!! OMG!!!! Okay, I won't be juggling CJs, I just want to post a few more Mesias updates before continuing on with San Lorenzo. Anyways, I was very dissatisfied with the picture quality of the last two Mesias updates, since the picture quality was poo. I discovered a new trick (printscreen, then paste, crop, and resize) which makes the picture quality less rough around the edges. Anyways, here's some pictures of Santa Leon. That's all!!

San Lorenzinos are a largely religious people (except for atheists, of course, but that's a different story ) Whether they're Christians, Jews, Buddhists, or others, they like building pretty houses of worship. This one is the First Presbyterian Church, which is the second largest church in the city. It's also home to the San Lorenzo Christian's League of Fighting Immorality and General Unscrupulousness (SLCLFIGU). According to the group, less than 4% of members can correctly pronounce the acronym. The group became famous in the late 1970s when it uncovered corruption by the city's mayor at the time, Gerard Sheere. He resigned after he was sentenced for corruption charges. St. Lawrence Cathedral is the center of the San Lorenzo Catholic Archdiocese. This is the third largest church in the city, and among the oldest. This cathedral was built on the site of an old Spanish mission. In 1879, with a large influx of Italian and Irish Catholic immigrants in the downtown area, a cathedral was built. Nowadays, a large portion of the congregation is Hispanic. The Chinese Temple in Chinatown was built for Chinese immigrants so that they would have a familiar place of worship. Today, it is among the prettiest buildings in the entire city, and raises money by selling Chinese crafts and jade jewelry. This church, St. Theodosius, is one of several Greek Orthodox churches in San Lorenzo's metropolitan area. This one is located in San Raphael, which has a large amount of ethnic Greeks and Balkans. Brimstone Supe-Ultra-Mega Church is the largest and most controversial church. All of the controversy is usually around the preacher Pete Kidneigh-Stone's subliminal messages against the gay community and left-wing politics. According to recent polls, only 15% of San Lorenzinos agree with him on his stances. New Algiers Methodist Church is where Pete Kidneigh-Stone was originally a pastor, but left because he "really didn't like how people were so nice to eachother. LIARS!!!!!" This isn't a church, but a Catholic school associated with the nearby Our Lady of Guadalupe church. Because it is located in one of the roughest parts of the city, it is not very expensive. The Archdiocese of San Lorenzo has put alot of work into trying to improve the local community as well, with open flea markets and free soup kitchens. That's all, folks! Here I made two maps... one for each of the regions in this CJ. Except for the southern region of Mesias, which is still a work in progress (technically they all are, but southern Mesias is pretty empty)

Central Mesias, also known as the "Colonial Heartland", is the central region of Mesias. Most of the country's beautiful colonial towns are located in this central region near the coast. The region is filled with rolling hills covered in tropical plants and plantations.

First of all, I'd like you all to go see how I fixed up Carife. I gave it more of a Barcelona feel, as that is one of my favorite cities ever. However I was also inspired by island of Malta's capital, Valletta. Anyways, I'm back with Mesias. I decided to go back and fix things, and I'm very pleased with my results. I know I've probably made and remade this city millions of times, but this time I'll try to not let my OCD-ness get to me. I definetally like it like this better, with a Havana-style beach promenade and the same peninsular colonial quarter. Okay, let's get on with the update now! Santa Leon, like many centuries old colonial cities in South America, has an old quarter filled with beautiful colonial buildings. The old quarter is located on a peninsula near the CBD, and is generally the busiest part of the city on the weekends and during the Summer, when thousands of sunburned Europeans, Americans, Canadians, and East Asians visit, carrying their camcorders, digital cameras, and confusing maps. Of course most of the businesses in this old part of town cater to the tourist industry, one of Mesias' most profitable industries... such as souvenier shops selling fake plastic "crafts" made in a warehouse somewhere in Pakistan. There are some actual craft shops, however they are very rare. At the bottom part of the mosaic is where the old quarter ends and Modern Santa Leon begins - on the Eduardo Duruelo Avenue, which passes along the waterfront as well. You can see a large building with a veranda at the bottom right of the picture... that building is the city's Produce Market. There is another market located at the north of the mosaic next to the fort, but that market caters almost entirely to tourists. This is the center of the entire city, the Circulo de la Indepencia, with a large monument in the center of the roundabout. Nearby you'll notice the "Hijo del Sol" building, which was the old heardquarters of the Hijo del Sol Rum company since the 19th century. Now of course they have a much larger office building nearby, but this old building is still used as a large store of theirs. Now let's take a look at the area along the waterfront. At the current date, the population of Santa Leon is approx. more than 4 million. The city itself is quite crowded and was built with a grid-like pattern. In the CBD, which is shown in the mosaic above, there are several large corporations that have their headquarters, most notably Miramundo Latinoamerica and BancoMes. At the center of the CBD is the Park of the Sailor, with a statue in the middle of famed San Pedro explorer Ignacio Jimenez. Anyways, that's all for now.

I've just looked over your 6 updates, this is a very nice CJ! I like the American west style, it makes me want to build some western towns in Simcity.

Here we are in Santa Leon, the capital of the South American nation of Mesias. Once a colony of San Pedro, Mesias is today anything BUT a colony. The comparatively small nation along the Caribbean coast has become an economic power, mainly from the export of oil and various agricultural goods. And, also, manual labor for clothing and textile companies. The country has a remarkable history... from the ancient civilizations that lived here, to the colonization by San Pedro, and to the fight for independence. We'll start off though in Santa Leon, because it's the biggest city and also because our plane landed here... duh, where else would we go?! I kinda made the pictures look like postcards because... IDK.... I like the look of postcards. Traveller's Tip: If a strange man walks up to you offering you "cheap cigars", don't buy them. The government has reported drug mafias attempt to lure gullible tourists into smuggling questionable items in cigar boxes to scare away tourism. Plus, smoking is just plain unhealthy. Traveller's Tip: Do NOT cheer for the opposing team during a huge soccer game - especially for a local rival such as Colombia, or worse, Venezuela. You'll likely find yourself on the top of a flagpole, covered in blue and white paint, and wearing very little. oh, and BTW, today is my birthday It's a special birthday because now I'm legally able to vote! Or play M-rated games or watch R-rated movies, but I already did that anyway
