referendum (Final Declaration) Should avatars be round?
Hellken replied to Dirktator's topic in Simtropolis Related
Just to clarify my earlier position: While I personally prefer squares to circles, I think that we are better off with a compromise here. Let's leave the option to revert to either style open. Additionally, I notice the square option seems smaller than previously at 100x100. I mentioned that I prefer a rectangular* setting if possible; that is, I think that the maximum area of the avatar should be increased to 100x150 to allow for portrait style avatars. Some examples of portrait style avatars: *Squares are rectangles. But not all rectangles are squares. -
referendum (Final Declaration) Should avatars be round?

Well, I prefer rectangular avatars since the circular style cuts details on my avatar. But... Though I prefer squares, I would by far prefer the old rectangular style. ie. sides not necessarily equal. -
These are a few file attachments by Paeng that were available on the forum but not on the PLEX. I archived them. These are the only ones I have on hand. If anyone has more let's archive them as well. Paeng Inseki Big Rock (I am not sure what this is) Paeng Ped Malls Park (Another gem!) 2 Folders: (1) The Coal Collection v_100 & (2) Urban Funicular Paeng Sidewalk Texture Mod (This may have been posted on the PLEX but it may be needed for those who want the same Sidewalk Textures in the aforementioned "Paeng Ped Malls") INTRO Replacement (Exclusive to the PLEX and unavailable on the STEX. DO NOT dump this in your MyDocuments/Plugins folder. Backup the game's intro.dat file before replacing. I do not have a readme available.)

I have a few non PLEX files that were forum attachments on SimPEG. PM me if you need them.

I am not sure if I would be violating any rules by posting this here. But given the situation here's what I managed to salvage. This is not from the PLEX but these are file attachments from some threads on SimPEG. With the site gone, these would have been gone forever too. Is there any small chance that there was a partial site backup somewhere?

Unexpected fatal board error? Was this an XSS attack? I have DatPacked files of many things from the PLEX including a few exclusive file attachments from the forums. Needless to say, it is far from complete. I have not visited that site in a year. I wrongly assumed that as one of the "Big 3" sites something like this was not likely to occur compared to small individual blogs and websites. Now, I am shocked to hear that only the "Big 2" remain along with smaller and dying international exchanges. This incident should serve as a reminder that any website may die off unexpectedly and without warning. I am sad to hear this.

For a domain that is about to expire, this is weird.

Windows 10 to be the last edition of Windows.

As for storage, some Chinese cloud storage companies are offering massive storage space online for free. Qihoo 360 Yunpan (Cloud Drive) offers 36 TB free and Tencent Weiyun offers 10 TB free. Baidu (China's answer to Google) also offers 2 TB of cloud storage. Unfortunately, I am illiterate in Chinese languages. The English translations are a bit limited in scope. -
I do hope that this problem is temporary.

Is there anyway around this problem? It's definitely not just a texture problem. The paths are also messed up.

May I request an option to revert back to the old rectangular avatars? I prefer that since the circular style cuts details.

Medieval punishments clearly show the state of Islam in Saudi Arabia
Hellken replied to A Nonny Moose's topic in Current Events
Not by much. Only last year, Iran hanged a young woman for defending herself by killing a man attempting to rape her. In the same year, Iran executed two homosexuals under the crime of "perversion". Furthermore, someone was sentenced to death for "insulting the Prophet". I am not exactly sure as to what area Islam and the legal justice system in Islamic nations coincide. After all, there are social differences in every area that is predominantly Muslim. However, massive reforms to the justice systems in many Islamic states are necessary and 1000 years overdue. The senselessness of what constitutes a crime and punishment that follows is outrageous. -
Medieval punishments clearly show the state of Islam in Saudi Arabia
Hellken replied to A Nonny Moose's topic in Current Events
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is fortunate to have oil under the desert. Had it not been for that, it would still be a primitive Bronze Age kingdom today. What constitites a "crime" worthy of capital punishment in Saudi Arabia is ridiculous. No different from the likes of Iran et al. What can you be flogged for in Saudi Arabia? How ironic that Saudi society silently condones slavery and human rights violations of migrant workers from the southern half of Asia and Africa. Such treatment usually goes unpunished. -
The topic poster is referring to the land itself not the flora per se. You might want to look at Gobias Terrain Mods: Berner Oberland Terrain Mod (v1.0): https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2834 Sudden Valley Terrain Mod (v1.0): https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2867 It is actually possible to change the hue of the terrain colors if you want to adjust it to your needs. It requires some tinkering and I am not knowledgable on that.

Under certain circumstances, I would argue that death penalty would be permissible on certain individuals whose existence is a threat to people's safety or whose crimes are so grave such that if they ever escaped, the costs would be so devastating to society. For instance, I do think that many captured terrorist leaders should be executed ASAP to prevent their comrades from attempting hostage takings to demand their release (see flight PK 326 among others). As for Tsernaev, life imprisonment may be a far better punishment. He's getting the "rock star" treatment by some (remember this?) already. If he is allowed to appeal his death sentence, we will see him in the news for years. Better to make his life miserable by locking him up, throwing away the key, thereby stopping any more publicity. In time, the world will forget about him while he rots away in solitary confinement.
-
Right. Here is an interesting statistic. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Likely Won’t Face Execution For A Very Long Time Tsernaev is 21 years old now. If he is executed, some lowlifes will treat him as a martyr. I do think they should imprison him for life in solitary confinement and let him die of old age. Lock him up in a hole. Throw away the key. Drop a sandwich and water bottle and some toilet paper and a new prison jumpsuit every now and then. Make sure his only companion for life is a child rapist or similar and ban all contact with the outside world. That will be far worse than death. The world will forget about him eventually while he rots in solitary confinement.

The search team has found something! It is not the airplane, however. A lost shipwreck has been discovered in the Indian Ocean. The anchor is visible here.
