@ Moskva: Not bad at all, I like what you've done with the Maxis Highway!
-
I've just come back from an unusually snowy holiday in Derbyshire, and found the new Simtropolis 8 (a.k.a. 7.3.3). I like the social UI theme, and I was thinking whether it would be possible to create a Simtrop app for iOS (first!), Android, Windows Phone etc. What do you guys think, would it be possible?
-
If you get the you can use GLR (Ground Light Rail) and Tram-in-Street/Road/Avenue as well! However, you will need to get separate stations for these new networks. The best of all worlds!
-
Good luck with what you're doing! I an old Power Mac G4 for many years and it gave me good service, such a shame that newer apps have to discontinue support for older computers... I might consider buying another TiBook (I have one with a broken hinge!) to run older software etc.

What would you name the new SimCity?
DavidB_ replied to I. Lostalim's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
If SimCity Societies was 'SC5', how about 'SimCity 6' for the new game? Or 'SimCity X' as it's rather like a reboot -
The research centres produce radiation? Can this ever be released, or is it just the Nuclear Plant and Toxic Waste Dump that have a [potential] effect on the city?
-
Firefox 3.6 is the last version that runs on PowerPC Macs... Why not use Safari or another browser? I think this should be posted in the "Simtropolis Related" category, but could you let us know of the computer specs?
-
Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me
-
I've just tried again on my iPod Touch, there is a mobile version of Simtropolis, albeit incomplete... I hope that this can be worked upon soon!
-
According to Kevin the mobile version is a skin you have to choose. I haven't tried this yet though.
-
Agreed. Good work so far though, I look forward to seeing more.
-
I did try Simtropolis.com on my iPod but it didn't seem to work properly. Perhaps it was because I didn't change the skin like Kevin suggested, I will try again. I did also see the Simtrop link for the IP.Board app, but apparently the app does not work in the UK... Thanks for your help anyway guys

I approve, as long as we can see the yellow line on the map! Good job with Paint though
-
There is with most phones/gadgets now, does the forum have a mobile version? It was just a little thought I had, I like the new UI though.
-
Now if you saw my interchanges... Hehehe

Not bad, I like the different style but the yellow line is hard to see. May I suggest two circle lines, one roughly following the green (link between Volga Towers and Lenin'sk Stadium) and another roughly following the brown and yellow (link through Lenin'sk Industrial). Good work though!

april 1st SimCity 4 Ultimate Dependency Package - April 2012

April Fools? You had me excited there, now make this for real "Whoa, I swear I've just spotted a pig flying by my window? But seriously, congratulations on getting this massive project done, this is probably one of the most important essentials ever! And only 1.25MB?!" -
Could a moderator or whoever please rename the topic "SimCity 2013: Wishlist"; it's getting rather confusing as I'm thinking of a different version when I see this!
-
Nice maps Nathan, although with the PIRail map I would picture the express lines next to each other and remove them from the station 'boxes' where trains are not stopping.
-
My top wishes for SC5 - links are my suggestions for Buggi's "Boomtown" concept: A much better menu system and interface App Store-style custom content distribution Preset and in-game customisable transport networks, timetables and more! No puzzle pieces, starter pieces "Layer System", based on the Mac "Time Machine" interface, for underground buildings and tunnels on different layers, as well as bridges and elevated networks Any other ideas, or comments and suggestions, please let me know. And EA/Maxis, if you are reading these forums, take our advice, we're pros!

Speculation & Discussion
DavidB_ replied to waybig's topic in SimCity (2013) Modding - Open Discussion
Yes, we need versions for Mac and Linux. Very important imo. May I suggest an "App Store" type mod database, run in collaboration with modders? This system would feature an exchange similar to the STEX, tight integration with the game (including the activation/deactivation of individual mods when required, automatic installation and update) and more! This would probably involve submissions requiring approval, sandboxing, and multi-player restrictions on money trees and such radical things. I hope EA/Maxis are paying attention to these forums! Update: Didn't see that several of you were already discussing an "App Store" idea, sorry! -
Running the Windows version of Simcity 4 on Mac in a virtual machine
DavidB_ replied to haap303's topic in SC4 Mac Users
It does, but VMware can directly interface with your Physical Optical Media so SafeDisc isn't an issue. That's common between both the Windows and Mac versions (I used to run the likes of SimIsle and SimCopter from Physical Media in a Win98 VM). Maybe it's because I was trying something relatively new on Win98... Native SC5 on Linux anybody -
