The Current State of the American Health Care System
Nucks8 replied to Psycho_Teddy's topic in Current Events
I don't think the US is in any shape to get this plan yet... You guys are in a massive debt (caused by Bush) and are in no shape to take this on. But neither is Canada. The morons that run this country think that paying more than you should for fighter jets is more important than keeping a ballanced budget. If there is an election soon and I hope so, I want a whole new cast in parlament. Not the same thing. Back to the states, universal health care is a great idea. Heres what it is. You broke your leg, would you rather pays thousands for it up front, or pay a tax that covers some of it and have the government pay the rest? I'd pick door #2. But the US is not ready to put this in. This would increase their debt. PS: Canada's still waiting for their couple billion dollars in unpaid trade money, so Bush dug you guys in a BIG hole. Good luck Obama, you are going to need it. -
Originally posted by: A Nonny Moose Nor can we in Canada, nor can any so-called UN effort. I don't know how Americans feel about foreign wars, but we've had it up to there. quote> Well said Moose. I'm sick of these kind of wars (Afghanistan). Here's what modern warfare is to me. 1: People that live in your country are sent off to fight in a war thousands of kilometres away. 2: Many of them die. 3: When the war ends, everything returns to what it was like BEFORE the war (I predict that as soon as NATO leaves Afghanistan, the Taliban will take over the country again. I predict that's what will happen if a UN supported attack of North Korea.

Guys, what we need to understand here is China is in a very sticky situation here. China literally feeds North Korea. So I don't see China just doing nothing at all if the war resumes. Another reason is how would China react to a Pro-American Korea bordering them? Not well if you ask me. But if China was to actually send soldiers to the front, America would not like that at all. That could eventually lead to a lot of problems down the road including trade( you would be surprised how much stuff is made in China). If China does nothing, it loses an ally, if they do something, the world would not be happy.

I believe that this should happen if people buy Cities XL 2011. 1: a discount to anyone who bought the original Cities XL game of 25 percent, I spent 40 bucks to buy the game AND 200 to get a new graphics card so I'm not paying 50 dollars for a new one! 2: They should release a FREE demo to give us a taste of the game before it comes out. 3: WAY MORE MAPS! After 5 days of the first one I got bored of the maps. At least 60. Those are my demands so Nexus, OBEY THEM OR DIE (remember Monte Cristo?).

As most of you know, recently North Korea threatened to attack South Korea after it was confirmed that they sank a South Korean Naval ship. It seems to me that they're thinking that it's scaring the world. What's your opinion? Do you think they're serious or are they just saying it to sound tough?

Originally posted by: SimHoTToDDy This isn't a game show, or a telethon, or some kind of popularity contest, this is a global issue worth discussing. The whole world should care, or at least know about the situation. If you want it to stay open why do you insist on getting 20 people? Why 20? Why any at all? This makes no sense.quote> You know what you're right! Screw it! This is staying up! As long as we talk about NK this topic is here to stay.

This is a completely legitimate thread, the conversations that need to be moved are the ones about Iran and other off topic things. As for this being a current even, is NK still there? Then this is still a current and extremely important topic for the entire world. quote>

Originally posted by: A Nonny Moose Maybe we should move this discussion to World Affairs. What about Burma? And what is it called now? With the unrest in Thailand (a.k.a. Siam), I've kind of lost track. quote> I think so as well. I mean is this really a "Current Event" anymore? To ANYONE who wants to comment from now on, go to World Affairs. This topic will be shut down on Sunday unless 20 people still want it up.

Originally posted by: edman2012 I'm sure I don't know enough about this topic, but I still wonder how willing China would be to go against the U.S. if a war like this sprung up because of all the jobs the U.S. company's take over there. With a war that connection would be dead and kill off U.S. manufacturing business based in China...quote> Yes. The Chinese would most likely cut off all trade with the US if there was a war. And you're the first one here to post that question! This smiley will answer your question. US-China trade during a 2nd Korean War:

Hmmm... apparently a South korean rocket exploded in midflight. What do you think? An unfortunate explosion or sabotage? Post it.

Hmmm.... I'm in the middle here. By law, she should be charged with involuntary manslaughter. But come on! She didn't know it was going to happen( even though it's common sense).
