  2. Cities XL: Bendy Roads!!!

One of the things I'm really looking forward to is being able to create bendy roads!!! The old fashioned 4 axis roads are fine if you want to create a grid city, but squiggly roads will allow us to finally create organic looking cities. thoughts?

Everyday. And it's not bashing the game if I plan to get it as soon as these (some of them promised) features will be included. It's easy cheering at games screens when you look at what game devs want you to see... It's better getting some information before buying something, don't you think? quote> I agree with you. If even the interface is awkward to use it can ruin the whole game. Like on SC4, it's just a joy to play, the interface was so refined over the years. That said CXL sound like they've learnt from the lessons of SC4 and built on the principles. Unfortunately Societys didn't do this at all. I know they wanted to attract new users, but the main enjoyment of the SC games was the sense of achivement. In societys there was no zoning, while total control might sound like a nice idea, it didn't make for compelling gaming. CXL will be combining zoning (with greater control, like building style) with pick and place building. IMO that's the ONLY way to make a good city sim game.
  4. reduce $$$ taxes to 6 or lower. use your desirebility hot map. go to the most desireable area for them, zoom in and demolish anything that is creating undesireabliity. Also think about creating one way road systems and toll both to try to calm the traffic.
  5. make sure you have good schools, health etc. reduce taxes for R$$$ as far as you can and use the desirebility map to see where to zone for R$$$ development
  6. Where can I find the blog subject rules? can i use for any general blogging of is it only city sim related

  8. 40th Anniversary of 1st Moon Landing

@Bog, erm... i was SHOUTING... duh! How do you know the evidence was real?
  9. Cities XL: Bendy Roads!!!

awake, lol to your status... squatter. I used to be one in the 90's when I worked on sound systems in the london rave scene. That'd be nice to see in a city sim game, derelict buildings getting invaded by squatters, or even vagrants if you don't have enough accomodation for R$ers
  10. Cities XL: Bendy Roads!!!

yeah, if the ground plans can only be square then i can't see how it'll work properly
  11. bump up the R$ taxes a bit by bit until there is no demand, the lower R$$$ taxes should increase teir demand and you'll see them move in
  12. Show us your Ghettos

I live in the ghetto, why would i want to build one?
  13. Also, if you have lots off poor buildings the rich won't move next door to them. You can try some demolition work, rich sims might build on those lotts
  14. I use 6.5 tax for the rich, the higher level earnings will mean you won't lose out because you attract more wealthy people
  15. SC4 Vist Bugs

Has anyone found a solution to the bugs on SC4 that happen when you playon the vista OS?
  16. SC4 Vist Bugs

thanks liv I've also had problems related to the built-in camera and skype applications, unfortunately I'm a MacBoy and find navigating Vista a bit like deep sea diving, at night, with sunglasses on! I'm still pissed that EA never release a proper mac SC4!!!!!
