1. Weecaek's BATs

That was fast. Your model looks fairly detailed but be aware of how you scale things as Aaron Graham tells. I usually try to stick to real world dimensions and scale it on the z-axis before exporting. The entrance looks like it's of another scale than the rest of the building. I agree with AlexandrosB13 that you should show previews made with BAT, if you don't know how to export your sketchup model to gmax you should check out Sketchup to Gmax (100% free) if you have the pro version of Sketchup you don't need that and could just export as .3ds. I'm not sure though if I agree with him entirely on the Sketchup/GMAX issue, Sketchup is a powerful tool but you need to be aware of what you do and how the model will behave in Gmax or 3dsMax as you need to use either for export, just as IDS2 pointed out. For the best result (IMHO) you should use 3dsMax but if you do not have the patience or time to learn a new tool, working in Sketchup is an alternative, maybe do the modeling in Sketchup and then add textures and lights in Gmax is a good way.
2. Elder Park Rotunda

Very nice, great detail, but maybe the roof is a bit too white?
3. NYBT Mott Haven Corner

Thank you all for your nice comments! djspida5: Maybe something you wouldn't expect, someone making a quite nondescript building from your own neighborhood. TowerDude: Maybe, but from what I could see on google and bing photos this building ain't that grubby and dark. I also have to say thank you to Aaron Graham and Vlasky for testing and helping with the modding.
4. nybt-forum-threads Happy Birthday NYBT

HAPPY BIRTHDAY US! Good day for My first NYBT release.
5. NYBT Mott Haven Corner

Version 1.0

4,285 Downloads

This is modeled after a building in the Bronx neighborhood of Mott Haven, it comes with R$, R$$, and Cs$ lots, a 1x2 and 2x1 for each occupant group. The building is wall-to-wall. Stats are in the readme provided. Dependencies: For proper function of this release you need: NYBT Essentials for custom queries. If you choose the Darknite version you will also need SimFox Day and Nite Modd. This is rendered with both DarkNite and regular Maxis Nite, note that you can easily change between Darknite and Maxis Nite by replacing the model file with the version you'd like to use. No need for bulldozing any lots before. Just make sure you don't have both DarkNite and Maxis Nite models in your Plugins folder.
6. nybt-forum-threads Manhattanville project

Great work, not much more to say.. I don't think anyone minds waiting for this. I see that you guys have done most of the interesting buildings in Manhattanville but there are still some, in my eyes gems, to be made, so my question is: are the buildings you've shown those that is included in this project or are there plans to add more buildings?
7. Another small update, progress is quite slow but I wanted to show you all that it's still being worked on. Aaron Graham, Vlasky, Seraf and OnlyMillion, thank you for your kind words. (Don't mind the missing faces)
8. Soon we can make replicas of the Bronx without repeating buildings if you keep this pace up. Your'e spoiling us. About your problem, I don't know if this is the same but I've had similar when exporting, my problem was sloppy modeling of the LODs, so when I exported them to Gmax some faces were flipped. Make sure the LODs are right in both 3ds Max and Gmax before rendering.
9. nybt-forum-threads GWL Workshop

I just added the custom queries to my Bronx corner building and they are very pretty, great work Gwail and Aaron Graham!
10. BAT4Max v.5

Hm, strange that it works for me and not for you and I can't explain why that might be. This is how the model looks in game anyways:
11. wallacet BAT projects

Ooh, I know, it is the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. (I swear I didn't just check the image URL, I knew ) Well, if you don't wanna do boring this might be it, it's like the antithesis of boring. Good luck with it.
12. BAT4Max v.5

I did feel a bit adventurous, well maybe not so much but think I've found an easier walkaround. I believe that the problem is Windows not letting 3ds Max write to files in the programs folder and as you found out if it is outside the programs folder it works, this can be avoided if you run 3ds Max as administrator. So when you want to export a BAT with 3ds Max 2012 and BAT4Max simply run 3ds Max 2012 as administrator (right click on the 3ds Max 2012 short cut or executable and choose "Run as administrator") and then follow normal export procedure. I did a test export, both day and night renders, without running into any problems. This is not perfect but there really isn't much more hazzle than exporting with earlier versions of 3ds Max.
13. I like the Tapscott Houses a lot and to me it looks like they can fit W2W as well as freestanding units, I'd say do both if possible. On that photo you show there are some detail work in the bricks between the 1st and 2nd floor windows that I think could be seen in zoom 5, or at least get a hint of them being there. Park Tower looks great but I agree with T Wrecks on the trees and the roof texture. It could use a little bit of dirt and imperfections.
14. nybt-forum-threads NYBT BAT Thread

Getting things organized is always good, only thing that could be viewed as a downside with this is in those cases NYBT-folks release something that's not NY related, then there will probably be multiple folders for one creator. But I'm not sure if that even qualifies as a downside..
15. A little update on the Plaza, not much really but thought I should show.
16. Indeed. Hard to comment on this because what is done is so close to perfect, but I think your roof texture is a bit too yellowish and could do with some water stains and other imperfections. Also there's something to the cupper roof that's not quite right, but unfortunately I'm no help at the moment as I don't have any suggestion on what to do. It looks much better now too with the less purple color. About the inscription, I think it's clear that it is there, and if you know what it say it's readable, maybe include the quote to the query, then I believe it will be clear to everyone.
17. Everything looks good here! I like that Beekmans tower it's coming along nicely.
18. Anotn BATs

Aaron Graham:Thanks! Actually I might have some ships laying around somewhere. Zahrul3: I'm sure I can handle it without help from them.
19. Harishna's BATs

Looks good, a set of these is a nice idea. One thing, I would say that Canopy thing is a bit high. Are you gonna keep the modeled ground or is there now just for reference? Another thing makes me wonder, who's advertising Coca Cola, the dental clinic or the liqour store, could be generating business for both parts.
20. Thanks all for the warm welcomings. It seems like people here know their NYC landmarks, well no surprise there. I will bring over all relevant BATs here from my other thread when I have progress on them to show. The Plaza Hotel is very ornate and there are many details to model, so it's progressing quite slow. Vlasky: Those pictures helps a lot, good contrast to show all ornaments, thank you! (Nothing worong with the links, that site just don't like direct linking, but opening them without the referal it works)
21. Anotn BATs

JayStimson: Thanks! I have already exported it and I think it's final export, besides I didn't want to overcrowd the roof with wathever might be there, but I appreciate your comment and I will keep it in my mind for future projects. I was playing around a bit with Max and came up with this: A try to BAT a Gulfstream G550, is this interesting?
22. It is hard to give you advise on the height or really anything of your building if you don't provide a preview render. About what that is in the picture I linked to, I don't know, but storage sounds likely, maybe a granary.
23. Anotn BATs

From now on the New york BATs will be shown in my NYBT thread. I will keep on posting in this thread regarding other BATs. Frex_Ceafus: Thanks, there are pics in my other thread.
24. Yes I'm part of NYBT, Aaron Graham invited me, I will soon start a new topic on the team board, thanks for the welcome, glad to be on.

25. Harishna's BATs

This looks very good, the red color fits very well with the game palette, I'm comparing it with the red brick texture on the lot in the left upper corner. If I must point out something to improve that would be to maybe match the texture on that little street leading down to the garage to the texture you use on the lot, however that is not at all necessary. It really is a beauty you got there.
