First time fiddling with the new NAM; I am extremely impressed with the stability and time-saving features added since the last time I played two years ago. Looks like a Cloverleaf, but might be closer to a Windmill. Looped Windmill? Grade separated Partial Cloverleaf? An odd one... I like it!

A cloverleaf/windmill... hybrid thing... Not quite sure what to call it. Probably could be compacted a bit in places. (Click the image for a higher resolution image (assuming that I got the BBC markup right...))

Been quite some time since I've posted an interchange here (at least not since the old page flip bug...), so I might as well start with something simple. And some more details: Feedback is always appreciated, though I'm rather proud of this little interchange.

Swapping the install to the e-series controller didn't help... I rebuilt the overpass and the network still wouldn't override... I'll manage without it for the time being, but I'll still fiddle with it and see if I can get it to work properly... I'll re-read the documentation to see if I'm doing something incorrectly. Thanks for the help so far though!

Huh... I am on NAM 31.2 with controller version "r184 RHD (s-series)", up-to-date as far as I'm aware... only other ideas are that I'm building the overpass in such a way that thwarts the overrides or I need to have the e-series controller. Or something else silly that I'm blind to...

Ah, so the graininess of the textures are unavoidable for the time being? Fair enough, I'll manage. I've clicked on every tile of RHW with the RHW tool in an attempt to get the override to work (even the transitions themselves). Rebuilding the overpass elsewhere didn't help either... If I have to swap the overpass for an underpass, then I will; there are always workarounds and alternate solutions for these things.

This might be a rather unique use case... To create this, I used L0-L1 FlexOST and got rid of the (what I assume are) starters on the ends with rail, then dragged through the rest of the RHW. While not the most elegant or straight forward setup, it is more compact than having a tile of flat ground next to the RHW going underneath. Although, the RHW will not override properly for the overpass... No room for an RHW 4 L1 starter piece in that spot to force the override, though that does sort of work if the overpass is just one tile longer... Any advice? Also, it seems that some RHW networks, particularly elevated ones (or RHW 6S for some reason) have lower resolution textures than the rest of the networks... regardless of how many times I try to re-install the NAM... -R30

SimCity Hack Lets Users Destroy Anyone's Online City Thanks To Always-On DRM
R30hedron commented on Freddyeddy's article in News
Watching this unfold over this past week has been hilarious and depressing... EA is having a hard time keeping their franchises afloat... I guess that the good thing about all this is that it's given me new interest in Sim City 4 and this site... I can't believe it's been 4 years since I've been on last... -
Yikes... I've not been on this site since '09... I'll admit I came back because the SimCity 2013 launch debacle has given me a renewed interest in the old Sim City 4... This site brings back memories, but my username has changed over the years on other sites, so I'll likely change from "R_Triacontahedron" to "R30hedron"... Probably won't matter too much because I'll likely be just as quiet now as I was back then. Also, the question that's been on my mind for a while now: Is the page flip bug extinct yet?

Franklin County - 12th Anniversary Update, All-Nighttime Shots of New Riverside Downtown
R30hedron replied to Patricius Maximus's topic in SC4 City Journals
Wow, I like how this region is developing. I'm looking forward to seeing some great interchanges in Franklin Estuary. On a different note, almost an entire page has been eaten by the page flip bug... -
The acceleration/deacceleration lanes prompt me to ask a question... What is the general rule of thumb for the distance between individual interchanges? I know that if it's too cloose there will be weaving, but it shouldn't be too far, right?

...and 14 just to sit around and enjoy the show. Just how large is this room anyway? 1,000+ people in one room all lost and in the dark? (sounds like my school lunchroom...) -
I wish a happy birthday for our benevolent Dirkitator! I'll just give you a ducky and a bunny for a present.

McDuell: Yes, thank you for your explaination of weaving, it made a lot of sense, and it will help with my interchanges in the future. I tried fixing the weaving with my interchanges, I was able to fix the one with the Maxis highways, but the RHW one was more difficult and time consuming... too much work for me when I'm tired... I might try again in the future, but I need to try other interchanges for a change of pace.

An offer to take over SC3000.com and SC4ever.com
R30hedron replied to Dirktator's topic in Simtropolis Related
I really like the idea of annexing those two legedary sites, if they weren't ever there, I'd never have heard about Simtropolis or how to create custom regions. Good luck with the annexation (In response of DuskTrooper's post, AYE!) -

I don't think I quite understand what you mean about grade-seperation, I thought I had done that... But I'll agree that any paperclip between two parallel highways would be too large for any pratical application, I like your interchange much better.
