  1. SimCity: The Best Worst Game of the Year

Isn't that the one that they turned into an always online Free-To-Play system? Yeah, I think I'll pass.
  2. A Free PC Download From Origin for SimCity Launch Customers

*Current reincarnation fails* *Offers previous incarnation for free*
  3. SimCity Modded to Play Offline Indefinitely

Aaaaand that's why I don't want to become a PR staff for a company like EA. Getting crap thrown at her because of EA's draconic policies is basically a part of her job description nowadays. What a sad and tragic fate. At least back when Spore came out (and flopped) she didn't get as much backlash as this.
  4. SimCity PR Nightmare Escalates

Music to my ears... Serves you right, Evil Arts!
  5. SimCity Update 6: Streetcars

Ask and you shall receive... And yes, it definitely warrants the extended meter. It's that bad.
  6. Maxis to RPS: SimCity servers 'not necessary'

Boy, have EA gotten themselves in quite a pinch. That's what you get for having such an ass-backwards business model.
  7. This image seems oh so appropriate right now...
  8. Internal Maxis memo outlines SimCity stabilization efforts

He's probably a cross between Emperor Palpatine and Mr. Krabs.
  9. Gamespot rates SimCity 5/10: "...equal parts joy and misery."

What, exactly, has more launch problems? All I'm seeing is a blank space. :/ Also...
  10. What a bunch of racists. With the way things are unraveling, it seems to me that the true entertainment that can be derived from this game is that of watching it crash and burn and the naive and gullible people's reactions to it. I give it a 10/10.
  11. Unfortunately, I highly doubt it'll ever rise back after this. With EA's meddling, things can only sink lower into the cesspool. Our only hope for the franchises that EA ruined is in the modding communities, case in point Boomtown. Sim City is dead.
  12. PcMag.com: SimCity Players Overload Origin Servers

I had a bad feeling this would happen. Well, it was expected but I never imagined it would happen on this scale. Dear EA, I am not trying to be rude here (and I really hate to make things worse) but the sad truth is this: Hey Hellken, I think your meter's broken. Shouldn't that dial be on the infrared by now?
  13. SimCity city sizes will “eventually” expand, says Maxis

A better solution would be to support Boomtown.
  14. SimCity Tutorial: Road Density

Not dirt road, per se, but one of my mates back in college lived in a highrise condo whose only access was a simple two-lane paved road. Skyscrapers can, in fact, grow in ridiculously small roads, if the demand is high enough. That's what happens in Manila, and other bustling yet old cities which have ancient road and zoning plans.
  15. (Update 3) Train Train Take Me Away

Why is there... a tree... in the middle of the baseball field?
  16. SimCity Blog: Telephone City Part One

Thus, the fun to be had in a single SimTown is depleted.
  17. Indeed. And you know what? This thing would've actually received minimal flak if it was content to be that way, or at least name it SimTown instead of riding on the name of an established franchise.
  18. SimCity Will Have an In-Game Store

Sorry to break ti to you, but 'making a quick buck' is EA's middle name.
  19. SimCity Will Have an In-Game Store

    Was there ever any doubt?
  20. This is Hell's Kitchen! Death Valley, California.

This is amazing! Might use this if I make a desert city.
  21. SimCity Blog: Sandbox Mode

I have a new corollary for the old "People die when they are killed" meme... "Games die when they are pestered by EA."
  22. SimCity Blog: Sandbox Mode

Exactly. Man, this is so depressing.
  23. SimCity Blog: Sandbox Mode

If there ever will be a subsequent iteration, that is.
  24. Paeng's General City Hospital

Bad-ass hospital is bad-ass! And yes, a hospital worthy of being called a tertiary institution.
  25. The City Services of SimCity

Depending on how they go with it, there might not be much of an endgame, if any, to speak of. I think what screwed them over is their emphasis on the Glass Box engine. It seems it was a little too early for them to introduce if you can't make a realistically sized city, let alone a district, with it using current computer power.
