Do you change your Mayor music station?
Nlogax replied to A Nonny Moose's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Stars of the Lid, Eluvium and Brian Eno make excellent music that is very suitable for city-building. Look them up on youtube and you'll see what I mean! -
The SimCity 5 Thread (Formerly "Is SimCity 5 Ever Coming Out?").
Nlogax replied to xterra09's topic in City-Building Games
Here's what I'd love to see in a new SimCity. Fully 3-dimensional city view. Maybe have a trimetric options for more precise building. A non-grid based surface where the layout of growing buildings vary on the space available, i.e a house in an acute corner will squeeze in there with little yard space. Completely open region mode. Be able to terraform freely without city boundaries. Speaking of terraforming: It's quite nice the way it is, should still have that secret feature of generating from jpegs Have a terrain spray tool like in the sims 3 with desert, grass, snow etc. Imagine a region with multiple climates! Fully bendable roads and more flexible highways! Lot zoning where -you- can actually control the direction its facing! ugh, sc4. Larger buildings have dynamic sizes. For example, two office buildings of the same basic structure, but the number of stories and capacity will change depending on factors like demand, taxation. The color theme of the building could change too depending on the overall color scheme of the surrounding area. City events! Could have running marathons, bicycle races in your town, parades, stuff like that. Office buildings could be built that start off empty and are then leased to other companies. Dynamic weather. Rainy overcast days, lightning, snow. Hazardous weather can occur depending on the climate like hurricanes. Imagine seeing a majestic cumulonimbus obscure a portion of your skyline! I'll post more when I can come up with more. -
Dude, read the omnibus articles. Study maps on google maps. Note the layouts of cities, how the highways connect the metropolitan, etc. go for a walk in your own town, see how things are organized. read some city journals here. SC4 wont give you a perfectly realistic city in terms of simulation but from the birds eye view they can look almost photographically real.

What frustrates you about sim city 4
Nlogax replied to Pasta-power's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Oh boy a lot of things are frustrating for me. Getting sims to use mass transit. Diagonal roads. Lack of curved roads. flea markets popping up in the middle of a dense urban downtown. the incessant, eternal, cursed crashing. And hey, SC4's soundtrack is good. There are a few meh tracks but God mode and RH music is incredibly good. -
