Well, many people have left over what you called a petty argument. You could not be closer to the truth. Pegasus has left due to a squabble over seawalls, and all the rest have left under similar circumstances. PS- Nice to see someone here has decent grammar and spelling.

why arent sims using the highway?
spectrumtech replied to jtgasv's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Very odd. The same thing happeneed to me in my biggest city, Iron Point. I rebuilt an avenue neighbor connection with usage of 65k with a highway and the connection went down to 137 and the entire area just kinda... died. The NAM is great, though. -

Zone plenty of Commercial and Industrial. The added jobs will make your Residential demand shoot up. Also, you might check out various demand-editing modds in the Modds and Downloads section. -
Hate to burst your bubble, but there is no such thing as SC4lan. Multiplayer doesn't exist in SC4. Sorry!

The problem is not the oil. The problem parks its liberal fat ass in Congress and whines to no bloody end about how drilling is bad, everyone should give up their cars, ride public transportation, and Earth will be a bloody utopia. Let me ask you, how many of those congressmen, lobbyists, and various Democrats actually didn't drive their car on "Spare the Air Day"? How many didn't run their air conditioners? None. Bloody hypocrites. Then we have Al Gore, who is a WHOLE other problem. He preaches that cars are bad, oil is bad, we are killing the environment. HE HAS A BLOODY PRIVATE JET! Also, he owns 12 Cadillac Escalades with an estimated mileage of... 12. He owns shares in a freakin' oil field, for god's sake! I consider myself a fairly conservative person. I will admit that many Republicans have done things that weren't in the best interests of this country or this world. I am an environmentalist. I like my blue sky, clear rivers, and pristine national parks. But aren't we carrying this a bit too far? So freakin what if the drilling for oil disturbs the flight path of a few migratory birds? God Forbid! This country as a whole needs oil to run, and by preventing that, environmentalists are killing this country. Solution: -Drill for oil in Anwar and any other place we can. -Pass less stringent laws on pollution so our economy can flourish. -Quit being a bunch of whiny do-gooder wannabes. Thank you for listening to my rant. Standby to resume our regular programming in 3..2..1...

Need Help In Making Great City
spectrumtech replied to lil-m's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
You got to just figure it out by playing and failing repeatedly. I once had a skyscraperville called Iron Point (before I had to reformat) with 1267554 residents, no dilapidation, and a commute time lower than 15 minutes. Al this was on about half of a large city tile. Overall, Mod Mod Mod. -
Welcome to Coastline, Part One in a series called Pacific Heights. In this update, Coastline becomes more self-reliant and a brilliant new opportunity comes to town... Here is the new Coastline City Park. Under the new cash grant to Coastline Parks&Rec, they decided to build a huge park complex to increase desirability in residential areas. Coastline has been chosen for a Cruise Ship Port! (This wasn't the opportunity I was talking about...) This is sure to bring new business to this fledgeling community! New zoning opportunities voted on by the Coastline Alpha Committee gives plenty of room in the north for farms to stretch out their wings. The city is expanding form the north and south now. The ends will meet soon and Coastline will run out of room on its tiny coastal tile. The Gasol Corporation has decided (for unknown reasons) to build its corporate headquarters in our small town! We will welcome the new tax-payers with great honor and respect! More tax revenue! A brownout strikes our city. We are running out of power! What are we to do??? (In answer to previous question) Duhhhh. Build a new power plant. The Gasol Corporation has generously gifted us with a Lignite Power Plant in return for a small seat in city government. We now have a shiny new power plant far out in the sea where it can't possibly hurt us with pollution or explosions! TEASER for Update 3... It turns out to be not so great...

Cheers to Godzillaman for the seawalls... Cheers to newsimaddict for the nodirt mod Idea (the tower is Coit Tower, available in Landmarks menu. The growabble is a glitch and I do not know how to stop it besides bulldozing every one.)! Once again, thanks to jjune for more great ideas! Thanks!

Duke87: Thanks man. It really has helped. jjune4991: Thanks for the input on my CJ. Nice to know someone likes it.

Welcome to Coastline, Part One of a series called Pacific Heights. Coastline is a bedroom community of my giant Iron Point (to be featured soon) and supplies mant commuters there and back. Although a great share of the citizens commute to another city, Coastline has its own downtown districts covered with custom lots (mostly by simgoober) and is a burgeoning city full of hope, life and activity. Here we have uptown Coastline with the Verona Viaduct and City Hall visible. Coastline started around the Coast Line Railroad, which owns the Verona Viaduct. Western Coastline. Note the terminus of San Andreas Road at a roundabout in Old Downtown. The new developments are visible in the lower righthand side of the picture, with the newly built Union Medical Center. Eastern Coastline. See the terminus of Laurel Springs Road, one of two major arteries in this small town. Russell High School is seen in the center right. The city is quite proud of it, as it was the first new civic building built in over 20 years. Finally, surburban Coastline. Parkside Elementary is seen here, as well as the Cabot Street overpass, the interchange of Laurel Springs and San Andreas, and the port to another city along San Andreas Road.

Two things: You are missing Lexington Reservoir (Along 17) and Anderson Lake (East of Morgan Hill in Mtns.). Otherwise, doing great! Love the CJ!
