I went to the SCL on a whim one sunday a few years back. It took me ten minutes to find the periodicals. I'm not sure if they were in the process of moving things around or what, but everything felt closed off and restricted, with all the books in the deep interior of the building. I much prefer my local branch for libraring. That said, it's an architectural beauty, and you did a fantastic job with modeling and textures, easy 10/10.

High School Tips, Tricks, and General Advice
thejason replied to topcliff's topic in General Off-Topic
I am a '93er going into sophomore year at high school. Weird, i know. My advice to you is as follows: -Do your homework. I often found myself in a precarious position of having to finish my homework on the bus, before school, and during lunch. not fun. unless you are extra ordinarily good at BSing assignments and have a good reason for not doing it the night before, don't procrastinate. -Attend your school football games. it's one of the best ways to associate better with your school and make you feel more at home. If your team is good, all the better. if not... -PLAY A SPORT. The single best way to meet new people, increase your social standing, better yourself physically, and learn time-management skills, period. If you suck at sports (and in your case it seems that you probably don't) try out. you help your school and yourself. High school is half about pride. -Relax. ignore anything and everything you have ever seen on TV concerning high school. Stop watching those shows on the disney channel (they suck anyway) and remember that you already have experienced thet gist of high school in middle school, just on a smaller scale. High school can be really easy if you don't worry. -Finally, be picky about girls. Set high standards. that's what I do. Girls can deplete your time, energy, and money. They also can be the best memories of your life. if you choose wisely, you can limit the number of bad experiences. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ELIMINATE THEM. You will have missed opportunities, blown opportunities, wasted opportunities, and you can't avoid them. You can, however, learn from them. Do all these, and your high school experience is guaranteed not to suck. PS don't rely on advice. i didn't go to your school, so my experience is different. Your mileage may vary. -
I'm working out for football! 1st time playing competitively. I'm a wide reciever, because a) I've got good hands, b) I am stupid fast and agile, and c) At a whopping 122 pounds, I can't really play anywhere else. I'm also following baseball very closely, and I want to be able to throw a screwball for a strike. (I play baseball, too.) Also, I intend to veg a lot.

When Winston Churchill adressed a French audience sometime after World War II, he intended to talk about the two distinct past periods of his life (I think they were pre-war and during the war). Speaking in french, he said to them: "When I look at what is behind me, I can see that it is divided into two equal parts." In essence, Winston Churchill was describing his buttocks to the thousands assembled. (I am recounting this story totally from memory, which is why it is full of vaguities. i may have seen it on the History Channel.)

This quote is funny only in its accuracy: "Soccer is a gentlemanly game played by beasts. Rugby is a beastly game played by gentlemen. Football is a beastly game played by beasts." Okay, it's not that funny, but I like it. (I can't remember who said this.)
