It's indeed easy to get a decent cash flow. I wonder if they made it a bit easier in the beta, then it will be at launch. The more addons and things will make everything cost more, and since the tiles are so small - it'll probably get harder to get enough tax revenue to cash up to the spiraling costs...

I agree that the tiles are way to small to be called city-sized. I still enjoyed it quite a bit and I'm not disappointed that I've already pre ordered.

How many online games didn't have trouble with the servers at launch? The online games that I'm playing almost NEVER have any problems logging in, except during their launch. It's gonna be like this with Sim City too. A week after launch, it's not gonna be any problems - of at least it's gonna be pretty rare. Sure, it might be a bit frustrating, but if people are freaking out just because a server is down for a few hours, they probably have some other issues. -
So you didn't feel in any way that you wanted to continue to optimize the city?

That's probably why they have a "beta" stress test to begin with. To get an idea how the workload of the servers. They will probably have some issues during the beta, and also during the first days after release, but I've never experiences an online game that didn't have server issues - but I don't think it's such a big deal. It's a beta, and it's free...

The Amazon scam didn't work for me... Or I just didn't do it right... Well, I guess I'll have to wait until march. So much for preordering early. Never make that mistake again.

My guess is that EA thinks that most people who signed up for beta way back when will probably buy the game regardless if they get into the beta or not (though myself, and I'm sure plenty others like me won't). By giving away keys en masse just before the beta starts they create a lot of hype and get a lot of people interested who otherwise wouldn't have been. Afterall, this "beta" is nothing more than a marketing demo. The fact that it's only on for a weekend and resets after an hour of play prooves that. Still, there can't be that many that has pre ordered. I think at the very least we should also have gotten a beta key, so we could feel a little bit appreciated...

I think, as someone mentioned before, that the green space could be used for farms. They don't really have to do anything, but it would be realistic to at least see some farms, fields and maybe orchards in between the cities.

I don't really know about other countries and their connectivity, but in scandinavia at least - EVERYONE is beeing connected to the internet 24/7. It doesn't bother me one little tiny bit that you'll have to be connected while playing - cause most (all?) people are anyway. Now, I don't know how much data that will be transfered back and forth while playing, but this will probably not be an issue either. You will be connected to the internet while playing anyway, 'cause really... How many sits in front of an offline computer these days? -
Spending more and more time each day, looking at these screenshots and I'm getting more and more excited and convinced that this will be a great game. The screens (most of 'em, anyway) looks absolutely brilliant - and the filters, what a wonderful thing to incorporate in the game! Even if I don't get picked for the beta (stress-test), I'm looking forward to all the new screenshots that will pop up! I would really like more videos though...

I'm Irganox, I've pre-ordered the Deluxe Pack. Can't wait to start building! Looks like a great game, with great potential. Hopefully there will be tons of DLC to keep the game afloat. Don't be cheap now guys. Show Maxis they've struck gold, deciding to reanimate the SimCity franschise!
