  3. Shinjuku Ward and Vicinity

Replies: TekindusT: thank you, I run out of things to say on some really good CJ's as well (including yours), and I procrastinate for a while thinking about something good to say. I take that as an extremely intense complement, thank you very much. Tokyo has a reputation for being an extremely expensive city, but if you don't mind staying in really dirt cheap places, where no one speaks english, and you stay away from the tour guide books, you can still get relatively good service, and come across really good food, see beautiful sites, for a very low price. My advice to seeing Tokyo; find a local friend. Daan300: thank you, again a wonderful comment. I try my best. But it might please you to know they were in fact 'made in Tokyo' as I am currently in Tokyo (soon to be in Vancouver). Skimbo: thank you! Guibanez: thank you! Timmystwin: hah, I have a spot on your favourites!? thank you very much for letting me know that, that makes me extremely proud of what I have accomplished here. But there's more to come. jaycobav: hmmm, I'm not sure how I would go about doing this for you. I could copy and paste for you the list of all the BAT's I have downloaded, and mods, and etc... and then give you a copy of the city, but then again, whats the fun in playing SC4 if you're just playing someone else's city? I strongly recommend that you build your own version of Tokyo if you so desire, and I would love to see another Tokyo CJ. TekindusT (again...): thank you for making my point. Just to add, theres about 2.26 GB's of plugins that I am currently using (its probably going to increase). Notice to all those who have commented on my CJ, we have been approaching steadily towards the 100th comment (minus my own), and for the 100th comment I would like to commemorate with something special on the CJ. If you have any suggestions for what this should be, or what you would want as a follower of this CJ let me know before the 100th.
  4. Hong Kong Victoria Park

fantastic! i love the rain effect, how'd you do it?
  5. Shinjuku Ward and Vicinity

Replies: tankmank: yes, the bad quality of the first picture does give the impression of the bad Tokyo air. TowerDude: hmm, thats strange I didn't intend for this to be a horror show, aaaaagh, yes that is quite scary, i'm getting goosebumps as well. If you're going to visit Tokyo, you should definetely not go see Tokyo Tower, because their just going to rip you off with cheezy merchandise, and the climb up is not cheap. also, I will be posting region view updates on the first page from 'time to time' so you can get see how the city is progressing as a whole. Thank you all.
  6. Singapore - Island Country

just simply fantastic. I've only been to Singapore once, but that looks about right. Brilliant!
  7. Kostelec - Old Town and Old Harbour

fantastic port, and a beautiful city to go with it. 10 out of 10!!
  8. Darth Vader Robs Bank

I bet there will be a storm trooper robber if this gets broadcast enough.
  9. 016 "Highland And Highlanders"

oh, and there are some cows in the last pic as well, very nice touch, and it adds to the realism as CastAway suggested
  10. 016 "Highland And Highlanders"

I think I see some livestock in the third and fourth pictures, towards the upper left, and right edges. But... they may just be logs... either way, this CJ has been absolutely fantastic. You place your emphasis on areas that most other people would never notice in the real world. Things like salt ponds, swamps, and stone mines, this is by far the best CJ in terms of bringing up new ideas for city building in SC4. Your CJ is innovative and highly focused on detail, and it has absolutely stunned me. I never thought I could see salt ponds like that in SC4, at first I thought it was a picture, but noooo, its an in-game pic. Amazing! Absolutely amazing. and now your ability to make these rivers look so real, and these towns. I'm also puzzled as to why you never leave behind any text for us to read, and theres just that little mark on the corners of your pictures. I'm just so mystified by this CJ, and I don't know whether you're doing it on purpose or not, but its driving my curiosity crazy. thanks for the wonderful CJ!
  11. Shinjuku Area and Region Update!!

it happens, thank you very much, and yes I know i'm quite proud of the station, hehe
  12. TKY - Shinjuku Station East Wing

you need to get the dependency, click the link
  13. A ride on the 1 Train

fantastic, absolutely stunning, I love your trains. I would love to know where you got that elevated train station though, the one with the glass roof (blueish color)
  14. Shinjuku Area and Region Update!!

Replies: on00122222222222222: Thanks, nice profile pic :) Tekindust: I knooow~, I hope I'm done with this by the time I'm done with college, orz. Skimbo: Thanks...   I love your CJ too, by the way. Guibanez: Thank you, I hope to be able to do it more often. ukrikou: this isn't professional, it's still amateur in comparison to CJ's like The Different Look's of NYC or that recreation of Calgary. I was looking through those earlier yesterday, and I could have sworn those were just pictures of the real thing, but nooooo, the guys that built those cities were true professionals. I sometimes try and get around having to do too much detail, lol.
  15. TKY - South Shinjuku Elevated Plaza

sure go ahead, use it however you'd like. I built it completely for myself in 30 minutes. I thought about possibly making some modular elevated plaza pieces, but that would have taken way to much time for myself, so, I wasn't really thinking about other people using it. However, since it came out pretty nicely and I got some praise for it in my CJ, I decided to upload it. Have FUN
  16. The Daily Routine

wow, super depressing! I love it! I'm such a sadist, haha
  17. TKY - South Shinjuku Elevated Plaza

    nope, no dependencies
  18. Shinjuku Station: South Side

Replies: JGellock: Thank you, I intend to try my hands on some other Tokyo stations though, maybe Ueno Station or Ikebukuro Station, or wait Shinagawa Station would be a similar project as Shinjuku. Next time I'm going to get the lights right. Skimbo: Thank you, I hope it keeps getting better and better. tankmank: thanks for downloading Shinjuku Station, but I'm not pleased with the lights.
  19. Shinjuku Area and Region Update!!

Replies: takelove88: thank you, yes it is quite complicated. But now I've become an expert on Tokyo. The roads are as accurate as I can make them, and the rails too. I've learned some stuff about the city I live in through this CJ; thing's I never would have known if I had never done this. Thank's for the congratulations. tankmank: thanks tankmank, you've been quite the follower of this CJ. Thank you very much! Reikhardt: thank you very much, the complexity of this city is driving me nuts!! But I feel I've planned well, and its going quite smoothly, and most of all I'm having fun doing it. dimipol006: thank you! :) Samerton: thank you, I like to think that that's the part I've put most of my effort. If my rendition of Tokyo is visually incorrect or displeasing, than I hope that I can be rated for the complexity and total accuracy of the roads and the mass transit; because like I said before, I believe in function before visual stimulation, and if it doesn't function in-game than its not fun!

Hello everybody, This is an elevated plaza that exists above the short section of the Odakyu Rail Line directly south of the main buildings of Shinjuku Station. However, you're free to pass whatever you like under it. The JR East HQ building exists right next to this plaza, and the Chuo and Sobu lines pass right next to it as well. It is a 18x2 lot. There's no actual name to this plaza (I think), but I figured it was an essential part of the Shinjuku area, so I BATed it, and here it is. A special thanks to all those in the HKABT team, you guys were really helpful.
  21. TKY - Shinjuku Station West Wing

really, I'm not meaning to demean whatever problem Totof0306 is facing, but does it really matter whether or not the subway point shows up or not? I mean, I've started using it and it works fine, I have 20,000 sim's cramming into one station, and their using all forms of transportation and their doing what their supposed to be doing, and that's using this station as a transfer point.
  22. Capitalism versus Socialism

I agree, China is a mixed state. However, I am very curious as to how you came about with the assertion that China outside of Beijing resembles imperial China. That is a very interesting assertion, and my first reaction to it was, "tuh, that's not right!" But the more I have thought about it, there are striking similarities between what rural China is today, and what it was prior to the PRC, and prior to 1912. Although I do think the assertion goes a bit too far, I am extremely interested as to how you came about this thinking. It seems to me that the local magistrates of the imperial dynastic period have merely been replaced by the local village or township committee heads, and the restrictions on the movement of people by the Hukou system today was already in place over a thousand years ago by family registration systems. Although the rural areas have gone through a phase of communes and cooperatives, which devastated the productivity of the farms, they have been able to return to farming directed not by the government but by the market, and farmers markets have been allowed to reopen in the late 70's as soon as Deng Xiaoping came to power. The only thing that has largely changed in the form of organization in the rural areas of China today is the sheer size and productivity, but the structure remains largely the same. However, what has been allowed to change greatly is the absence of the land lords. One could assert that the corrupt CCP bureaucrat has simply taken the place of the corrupt land lord. This is why I have come to find Nonny Moose's statement very interesting. The rural peasants have been given more power over their ability to be independent of the state apparatus, and if we go back to the Qing period, this was not always the case, as many were tied to the land lords or the gentry bureaucrats in ways they could not escape financially. So to some extent I can agree with Noony Moose about how rural China resembles dynastic China, but I'm not quite sure what Noony Moose meant, so if you could clarify as in what regard rural China is like dynastic China it would be very interesting. However, despite certain similarities in peoples restrictions and the organization, I would have to say that the changes in productive capacity are so great that at first look rural China will not resemble China a hundred years ago.
  23. TKY - Shinjuku Station West Wing

I am really curious as to how the people that downloaded only one of the wings are going to use this station. I would love to see this in other people's CJ's! :)
  24. Shinjuku Station: South Side

lol, as TekindusT has pointed out, there's alot more plopping as opposed to actual urban planning. but thank you anyways tycoonsimraider123.
