  5. New Official BAT Request Thread

I would like a mod, using any kind of BAT but preferably a government building of sorts, that can control take funds from any city in a region and give it to another city in a region. For instance an industrial city that makes money hand over fist w/ nothing to spend it on can be used to fund a tourist or wilderness city that in nothing but requires electricity.
  6. TSC Greenland s Houses

I'll reserve judgement until I see them in play, but the pictures remind me of Sims II University dorms, psychedelically tinged that it is.

  8. Is It What It Is?

Love these lists. I don't love banning words or any communication, I just love it when people point out irritants of pop culture! "It is what it is" is a phrase I hear attorneys around the Real Life Bureau of Bureaucracies use ... in other words "we ain't got a chance!" Or to quote Coach Lovie Smith in the beer commerical, "they are who we thought they are!" And In the words of another phrase I would add to list: " 'nuff said! " (well, I hope not! ) http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071231/ap_on_re_us/banned_words http://www.lssu.edu/banished/current.php By JEFF KAROUB, Associated Press Writer Mon Dec 31, 2:56 PM ET DETROIT - Resist the urge to say you will "wordsmith" your list of New Year's resolutions rather than write one. And don't utter, "It is what it is" when you fail to meet your first goal. Those are two of the 19 words or phrases that appear in Lake Superior State University's annual List of Words Banished from the Queen's English for Mis-Use, Over-Use and General Uselessness. The school in Michigan's Upper Peninsula released its 33rd list Monday, selecting from about 2,000 nominations. Among this year's picks are "surge," the term for the troop buildup in Iraq. "Give me the old days, when it referenced storms and electrical power," Michael Raczko of Swanton, Ohio, said in nominating the word. The list also included "waterboarding," "perfect storm," "under the bus" and "organic." Also: "It is what it is," which Jeffrey Skrenes of St. Paul, Minn., said "accomplishes the dual feat of adding nothing to the conversation while also being phonetically and thematically redundant." Sadly for grammar's guardians, the lighthearted list isn't binding, as evidenced by the continued use of past banned words and phrases such as "erectile dysfunction," "i-anything" and "awesome." Still, university spokesman Tom Pink, part of a committee that evaluates submissions, takes his syntactic success where he can find it. His office once received a letter from an Arizona Supreme Court justice who said he posted that year's list on a bulletin board and prohibited all attorneys from using those words. ___ On the Net: Lake Superior State University's banished words: http://www.lssu.edu/banished Lake Superior State University 2008 List of Banished Words

I'll second (or maybe "fifth" or "sixth") the nice use of the space port! (I initially wondered if it was a 4D reward on the hard level that I could never acheive) Do you have link to Somy? the*****pit. quote> Gotta love the simtropolis censors! I'm glad they're looking out for us!
  20. What does your username mean?

Well so what if the same subject is covered in a different thread over here! Mystery of ur nickname I think I'll swipe from myself for once! And I quote (myself) Recent experiences in chat have made me realize the need to revive this so I can have something on record. Although... I had no idea this thread was so old! blows off dust. The name "purpledaddy" came from one of my children. That child didn't speak until late in life and only began to identify people by colors. The child first called me, ehem, "purpledaddy". He also called my wife "brown mommy". And then there was green sister, orange brother, brown neighbor, white neighbor, orange grandma, yellow grandpa, pink cousin, etc. It was many years ago and to this day I have no idea what any of that was about. The child speaks regularly now, but I keep the name for sentimental reasons. (I'm just old softie I guess! ) However, I'm also very amused that others associate the name to something odd or kinky. And now I have something real and down-to-Earth to show them! unquote (of myself) Addendum: My wife actually suspects that purple came as the choice b/c Barney the Dinosaur was seen as a father figure by my child at that time. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!
  21. Jason's BATs & Tutorials

I'm sure there'll be more roof junk and other detailish whatnot but the towers look like typical C$$ for a downtown. I would definitely go for it!

As lovely as they are, please do not start a craze of putting avatars, old, new, celebratory or otherwise in your signature... the reason is simple... an 80x80 avatar exceeds the signature height limit of 50 pixels. If you want to resize them to 50x50 that is fine. However the total sum of signature images must still be within the 300x50 limits. So technically you could put 6, 50x50 avatars in your sig if you really wanted to... I hope that was not too confusing. Craig - abcvs CJ Moderator quote> A man after my own bureaucracy! Oooh second to comment. I really like bring classics from earlier Sim Cities into 4D. I'm also glad to know it won't replace anything (I've unwittingly gotten bit by that.) I'm eager to try it!
