Remove the Plopmatic 9000. Do things return to normal? On a sidenote, the Plopmatic uses some pretty extreme numbers to accomplish what it does - the simulator is known to get confused when plugins use outrageous numbers. It might not be good to keep it, period. Now, if your water cleaning plugins use outrageous numbers, as well, it's possible they ended up breaking the pollution simulation and are accomplishing the exact opposite of your intended goal.

It could be that a setting in the plugin is causing havoc with the game's trains, even if the train station it provides isn't plopped in a given city. As Cogeo said, if you find the culprit, please name it and link to it (If possible).

There are dozens of incidents/conflicts involving the settlements over the course of Israel's history. They are likely to have different mechanisms involved, different conclusions to be reached. In comparison to the Jewish Ghettos, which were always intended as the first step in annihilating the Jews, the Gaza Strip does not nominally (In other words, when no one is firing) suffer the same degree of human rights losses. The Gaza Strip is allowed everything required for the sustainment of life and more. In fact, as time as gone along, Israel has become less restrictive about what is sent into the strip. The intent of sealing off the Gaza strip was to severely strangle the ability of terrorist organizations to succeed in their goals. It was not to make the Palestinians living there suffer (although it has had that effect). This is a critical, vital difference from the Jewish ghettos. It tells me that, in the event Hamas and the others are destroyed/crippled, then the blockage of the Gaza Strip will cease. Certainly, it'll save Israel a lot of money; supplying the Gaza Strip has been an enormously expensive task. The Jewish ghettos were denied everything except the basic necessities for life, and even then it was of low quality. Even "good" ghettos - the ones that existed before the death camps began large scale operations - were allowed to quickly degrade into cesspools. By no means am I attempting to minimize what the average Palestinian in the Gaza Strip has to go through, nor am I suggesting the Gaza Strip isn't an open air prison. A very nice prison is still a prison (Unless we're talking this prison). However, I am attempting show the differences of intent behind the Jewish Ghettos and the Palestinian Ghettos and the results. Israel did something desperate to save lives and is attempting to make life bearable for their captives; The Nazi's collected Jews and the unwanted into cramped, filthy conditions with the goal of killing them all. I stumbled upon a thought while I was thinking of a response to you. I don't know how accurate it is, but it seems to fit relative to the other horrible things happening in the world. The reason Israel is so high up on the list of interests is because it's the opposing magnetic pole of the region, and instability where most of the world's oil is produced is something to keep an intent eye on. If it weren't for the oil in the region and the worry among nations that a major war over there would result in gas shortages, Israel would be a backpage story regardless of what was happening. How often do you read about the genocide in Darfur, for instance, or the people still suffering in Haiti? People prioritize caring about what will affect their lives the most. It's sad, but true, that starving children in Honduras simply don't carry the same significance as liquefied dead things. ...I need a hug...

My apologies, Nonny. Jerusalem isn't recognized as a part of Israel. The U.N. doesn't recognize China's government. A bit more research would have saved us some time. However, the U.N. doesn't recognize Palestine as a nation, which I think is silly. That aside, I agree with your post. If we're going to have a universal body designed to cushion conflicts and force people to play nice with each other, it should be less...startlingly corrupt. I'm not implying the Palestinians are terrorists. If I thought the average Palestinian was a terrorist, I wouldn't imply it. I would flat out state that, "The Palestinians are terrorists". I do not believe the average Palestinian is a terrorist. I believe the average Palestinian is a victim, much as the average Israeli is. If you have clicked the very first link I included, you'd would have seen an article describing the dictatorial leadership of the Palestinians, Hamas. Hamas is a terrorist organization whose primary goal is the extermination of the Jews and the annihilation of Israel, using fear of this fact to keep Israeli's constantly afraid for their lives. Hamas is a classic terrorist organization and functions as such. I'm not conflating a violent, murderous group of barbarians such as Hamas with the United States' currently questionable definition of a terrorist. The word is far from loaded when it's used properly to describe a group. Granted, it's still sorta subjective - my terrorist can be your freedom fighter - but few people would disagree that a group is probably terroristic in nature when it seeks to further its goals by purposefully murdering innocent men, women, and children. You can't say any of them shot first, because the conflict as we know it today has been going on since the area changed from a UN mandate to Israël and Palestina in 1948. Before that, there were already problems, and the influx of Zionist Jews made it even worse. Of course, Zionism wouldn't have been so big if WWII did not happen, so in some way we can even blame Hitler for this conflict. And if the Romans never destroyed the second temple in 70 AD, the Jewish Diaspora would have never happened, so this whole conflict has no start or end and blaming any group on attacking first is merely a political choice. Current conflict, the one ignited after 100 missiles were launched into Israel. It has a definable beginning, with a cause and effect. I wouldn't dare try to suggest I know the facts of thousands of years. The U.N. doesn't even recognize Israel as a nation*. It would not do well to entrust the organization to handle Jerusalem's fate until that matter is fixed. Hell, it doesn't even recognize China and China is on the Human Right's Council**! The U.N. needs to solve its internal politics issues before it tries to solve a major problem of modern times. You'd still have Palestine and Gaza, run by terrorist organizations. They don't simply want Jerusalem; they want Israel wiped and the Jews killed. Making a copy of your own disk for personal use is perfectly fine, recalling a thread: The OP did not indicate he torrented or otherwise stole the disk image. Lack of technical knowledge to actually mount it does not equate piracy.: Edit: Clarifying.

Clarifying: Israel did not start the current conflict. The terrorists shot first. Or rather, the terrorists escalated it on November 10th, resulting in Israel responding with Operation Pillar of Defense/Cloud on November 14th. This has caused further aggression. Given the recent history of conflicts in the region, I doubt this will result in an all out war unless one of Israel's enemies decides this is a grand time for an invasion.

I am probably wrong by a degree, however, that's never stopped me before: The X, Y, and Z coordinates are where the pixel you queried is. This information is used by the save file to, among other things, remember the positions of props and models. Z represents height. The cell X and cell Z represent the coordinates of the tile that contains the pixel you queried. Not sure if it's used by anything, since the pixel coordinates can do more things and are more accurate. I don't think Z represents height here, but then why not use X and Y? Semantically, I don't think "pixel" is the proper word to use... Oh, and as an old moose says: The only questions not worth asking are the ones not asked. Edit: Ganaram Inukshuk has been kind enough to educate me. "Y" is used for height in SC4, not Z.

Cefien, It is also possible a plugin is overwriting the original Maxis vehicle props. Remove all plugins. In addition to making everything custom in the city vanish, it should restore everything on the Maxis lots to vanilla if they were indeed changed. If the Maxis lots still have giant neon-coloured cubes, then a reload is indeed in your future. And it should go without saying, don't save you city while all the plugins are gone.

I'm afraid I can't answer that question, Nonny, as I am too young to have experienced the radio show in its hayday. I do, however, occasionally catch The Shadow. Far better than more of the rubbish on air these days.

The SC4 community frowns upon stealing other's works and putting them up for download elsewhere. Permission is required, and I doubt one is going to get permission from the thousands of people who created all the content that'd go into a 12 gig torrent. You're going to have to suffer through this loss. Make a note to do periodic backups of your plugin folder so you don't risk losing it all again.

This needs to be said: Folks, when you make a thread, make sure the title and the body of your post are consistent with the ideas they express. "What is the MAXIMUM number of plug-ins possible?" is a VASTLY different question than "What is the recommended maximum on plug-ins for SC4". One is a question related to theoretical capabilities of the video game, one is related to the physical limitations of the computer running it. To answer both: SimCity 4 is capable of handling, in theory, up to 2 billion different TGI files. In practical terms, however, it is doubtful SimCity 4 could stuff all of them into the maximum amount of memory is can access (4 gigs). Nor is a modern computer likely capable of enumerating and loading 2 billion TGIs. For reference, my plugins folder is over 3 gigs and I have about 1 million TGI files and the game loads fine on a computer similar to yours. Unless I've been missing out something fierce (Maybe? ), all the content ever developed for the game probably isn't going to be near 10 million unique TGIs, let alone 2 billion. Possible. SimCity 4 is set to run 2 gigs of memory at maximum by default. With 12 gigs of plugins, it's possible the game is simply being demanded to load too much and runs out of physical memory to use. A very simple program allows you to set the SimCity 4 executable to use 4 gigs of physical memory. Just run the program, point it towards your SimCity 4.exe, and let it do its thing. Always make a copy of your executable beforehand, just in case. It is incredibly likely you have a ton of redundant TGIs running around, taking up space and causing SC4 to take longer to load than it needs to. allows you to find these redundancies, but be warned: Not an entry level program. Read the manual, and be prepared to spend many hours tracking down and eliminating conflicts. DatPacker can help in eliminating the woefully common problem of .dat files that contain tons of redundant TGIs. There's a very high theoretical limit, much lower practical limit, but not one likely to be reached by a modern computer with the 4 gig patch. DataNode is your best friend for streamlining and shrinking the size of your plugins folder. It's also possible you simply have bad plugins somewhere that are causing crashes; DataNode will help track these down, too. Your computer is modern, relatively speaking, compared to what the game was designed to run on. Load times must suck, though. May I suggest a SSD? No, but you're going to have to work for a stable, streamlined, quicker loading SC4. There are no easy roads to travel here. Patience, observation, and learning will serve you best for the task ahead. [/Channeling Nonny]
