Entry 1: Postings from Mistral

First off, here is some teaser pictures for my first city journal. Hope you'll like it! :yes:Route12.thumb.jpg.33505d96a36435029679f9HillTrails.thumb.jpg.e9ab2de564b30cacb35LongBeach.thumb.jpg.0b6050f8693b989f59a8BirdwaterCityHall.thumb.jpg.7ce980e6ed65

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Additionally, I will be taking this city journal at a comfortable and slow pace. Since I do not have Photoshop or any professional image editing program, these pictures will be taken at screenshots from Steam unless there is a better way. :ducky: I hope you will take this fact easy as my photo quality is not going to be as high as I want it to be. Nevertheless, I always wanted to create a city journal since joining this community over a year back then. After some internal debate and some inspiration from fellow members here, I finally gathered my courage to create one so that I had something to share to the wider community here. Perhaps you'll like it, don't like it, or you may even become inspired by it! Regardless, it has been one of those things I wanted to do for a long time. Anyway, thank you for checking this city journal out! :read:

Have a good one! :)

Very nice work there, I'm glad you decided to start a CJ as you were one of the members who's work I wanted to see more of based on images posted in the "show us" threads(I'm hoping that @antsel & @Thin White Duke will start CJ's too for the same reason :))

I know exactly what you mean about wanting to start one for the longest time, it took me years to finally get over that 'hump'. Part of it was just not having the time and dedication needed for it. The other part was worrying about how well my work would be received by others. Not that I was lacking in confidence but you never know and in truth I still had very much to learn at the time but that's where looking at the very progressive and inspiring works of others really helps(for me it was, Kim Sunwoo, Ln X, MilitantRadical to name a few) I think it's very smart of you to go at your own pace and not worry about trying to be very active. I used to try to push myself to make an entry a week, largely because of Big Ben's top 10. I hate to say this but I'm actually glad it's not up to date anymore because while it was motivating me it was doing so for the wrong reasons and in the end I just burned myself out. Not only did I not have any free time for things outside of playing simcity and making CJ entries but I was losing sleep over it and it even started to feel like work! I was no longer having fun. So if you ever find yourself staying up way later than you usually would playing SC4 or working on the CJ that's when you have to catch yourself before it becomes an issue.

Well I should cut myself off here, starting to get a little off topic. Looking forward to seeing more of your work and I gotta say, I would love to live in one of those seaside villa's!

This is a very promising start for sure! You've got a great and interesting blend of MMP going on here - I love the beach area!

Those are some really nice scenes! And congratulations on making the jump into CJs. I've tried in the past but never had the time or dedication to keep one going. Maybe one day.

It does look like the site duplicated your images though. If you want to avoid this, I'd recommend hosting your images on a 3rd party image hosting site (such as imgur) instead of directly on ST. It seems like images hosted here are always duplicated.

These are some really good MMP scenes. Nice suburbs and good use of fillers to expand lots. Pictures 2 and 3 were brilliant.

I look forward to more.

And, to get rid of that annoying minimize button-

(still going backwards from your last entry) Oh very nice work. I'm in love with the way you showcased that good old city hall ! Good eye for MMPs from the start, eh ? AND for transport networks. I envy you.
