Frdm920: Thank you for your comment! Well, you know how Capitalism works in countries that have "adopted" this system in the last 20 years...

Mithrik (x2): Thank you for commenting! I guess that it has something to do with weapons and drugs...

Huston: Thanks for your comment!

jj88: Thank you for your comment! I imagined them too at the time of making the update...

the00guvna: Thanks for commenting! Krasnoslobodsk is a city of contrasts and the previous update was an update of contrasts...

Alejandro24: ¡Gracias por tu comentario! La verdad es que nunca he estado más al este de Venecia, pero intenté inspirar la temática del post anterior en el proyecto Moscow-City; me gusta que te guste! Thank you for commenting! The truth is that I've never been in Eastern Europe, but I tried to inspire this post in the Moscow-City Project, glad you liked it!

Schulmanator: Thanks for commenting! I'm usually fascinated with the extremely quick developments undergone in China, the Emirates or the city of Moscow with the Moscow-City Project. I wanted to take something from them to this CJ.

nico15821: Thank you for your comment! Well, I guess it would be "cool" to take a look to the favelas on this CJ, and I have indeed some middle-eastern ghetto BATs that could do the trick, but in this moment I just feel very confortable with the Eastern European look...

Benedict: Thanks for commenting! Half of the merit of this pic goes to the HKABT, because their buildings look just perfect. I only placed them in a good location and took a pic of them...

All: Welcome to ST7.0!! Even though the CJ pics don't show properly...

Workers City is only one of the dozens of residential districts surrounding Krasnoslobodsk's city center. There are some others that had been planned in similar circumstances and the result can be even more terrifying.

The simplest way of reaching the District 14 is by rail. The railway station is the most important spot in the city, where the inhabitants that still have a job gather every morning to get to Krasnoslobodsk city center or any other place in the metropolitan area.

The word "claustrophobia" can define well what strangers feel when they enter in the District 14. Its narrow streets and dangerous alleys, combined with the total lack of sunlight during most of the day; give the whole neighbourhood a feeling that only the ones who live there can tolerate.

The sights from outside the neighbourhood are even worse and more worrying. Residents live in crowded tenements and households made of eight people aren't uncommon. Most of the young people living here only think in getting off this place, they call this "to escape the District".

Tekindus there are trees in every picture.... thats too optimistic But everything else is as depressing as ever. I've missed this for the last month, great work :)

The last picture makes me feel something about fear (or something like that).

La última fotografía me hace sentir algo de miedo (o algo así).

I know you're using relatively few plugins, but you manage to make it look like you're using tonnes of plugins like I do!;)

I've never stopped by here before. No wonder why you won a Trixie last year for making beautiful "ugly" cities. I'm very impressed and I'll follow this CJ.

+1 point to you, sir!

Best,
Maarten

Wow! The simtropolis update and my exams got together and I've missed THREE posts!

I've already downloaded the nooyukular plant (ever considered a "Proletariat vs. Burgeoisie Nuclear Zombiepocalypse" for Krasnoslobodsk?), the contrast between the new development and the old poverty is great (aesthetically, not ethically, that is), as in those other countries you mentioned, and claustrophobia is a PERFECT word to describe what you feel when seeing this post.

Anyway, keep up the [s]good [/s]better work!

Wow I love how you are still managing to incorporate originality after doing the cj for so long :D
The last picture sure looks depressing - success on your part!

I'm probably really late to the party, but where on earth did you get those tower blocks? They're beautiful...

As the snow flies
On a cold and gray Chicago mornin'
A poor little baby child is born
In the ghetto
And his mama cries
'cause if there's one thing that she don't need
it's another hungry mouth to feed
In the ghetto...

Excellent job! Love the pics
