If you thought it looked good bare, try it with trees. If it looks this good now, imagine it with the likely microdetailing... my isn't that pretty. This map has looked so good at every step of production that any new addition is just icing on the cake. The trees look good with the "feathering" and the boundary clumping is hardly noticable (in most spots). Enjoy the concert.

David,

The "Conifer Mix" and "Lodgepole Pine" forests do blend together very nicely. What you've created looks very natural. Hope you enjoyed the concert.

Yeah. It looks great. And you are really developing the area fast now.

Sorry to keep bothering you, but I have more tree-related questions. I can't seem to find the cycledogg God mode trees anywhere on STEX? Can you (or anyone) point me in the right direction? Also, by "God mode," you mean [Ctrl][shift][Alt] + Right Click and then planting them normally like the regular game trees, correct? I understand the concept of the God mode, but, since I have found the trees you are using anywhere, I am wondering if my understanding is wrong.

    Hey, thundercrack83-

Wandered by the 'puter at 4:00 a.m.  Saw your questions.  Short answers follow.

God Mode Cheat tutorial [ linkie ].  The page has a bunch of pics on it- give it time to load.

Here's where you get the cycledogg trees I use from the STEX [ linkie ].  I beleive this file over at PEG's site may be an update, but I haven't had time to check- Generic Tree Controller [ linkie ].

Another busy one today.  Thanks to all for the continued great comments.

I am giving you an A+ for this update. 3RR is looking great! I use SC4 as a stress reliever- relax and build. And ST as one too - enjoy CJs and my cares fade away. I could sit and ponder the natural beauty of 3RR all day long! Thanks!

David, the patience it takes to do all of that great tree placement is very much, and you are the most patient person I know judging by those pics! I just love those shots and how well the trees blend together! I look forward to more!

    David,

It's looking great my friend.   I never even realized that I hadn't downloaded that tree mod.  LOL   Well I have now.    I need to go back to the beginning of 3RR sometime amd see if I can find that link to the "duplicate finding" software.    I'm pretty darn sure it was waaaaaaaaay back there that you said to download it and it would help clean out my plugins of double stuff.

BTW, How'd the concert go?    I'm sure he did great.

Looks like you're finally foresting that huge region.

I've never used the predefined mixes of trees that exist within cycledogg's tree set. Your foresting looks great, though - it's probably going to be hard to develop on that region due to its aestethics.

When you do develop, though, a lot of that good work's going to go down the drain. I usually do my Cycledogg woods after development for that exclusive reason.

    Take care

You are a Godsend! This is what I've been looking for for weeks! It is now 3:00AM and I've got to get up at 8:00AM and I cannot quite reading about 3RR and looking at all the eyecandy.

Thanks you, thank you thank you.

I apologize for hardly being around the last few days.  Today I'll turn in to my state's Supreme Court a 70 page or so brief that I've been working on more or less non-stop over the past week.  I think I pulled my first all-nighter since law school yesterday.  I'm looking forward to heading for so many folks' great CJs over the weekend...and to getting some more work done here.

Anyway, here, courtesy of the American Optometric Association (have you had your vision checked lately?) [ linkie ] is the placename map for 3RR-SW.

    3rrswmap800zt0.jpg

    And here's the easy-read version (2,400 x 1,222 px, about 204 kb) [ linkie ].

See you 'round over the weekend.

    Later.

Hey, David, all those versions of 3RR are amazing! I saw them on the STEX, and I would like to download them, but my computer can't support the BAT tool, well, any new tool, no more regions........I have a potatoe, no a computer!

It would be great to do my own cities here, in the biggest region i have ever seen!

Ah, and congrats for the Trixies, David!

Great pic! Love all the names. It must take a lot of time to come up with all of them and put them on the map. Can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Vision's is fine, just need to up the resolution on the screen (though a vision check is something that wouldn't hurt anyway). As I've heard it said before, (pardon the joke, please) it takes a lawyer to take a 70 document and call it a brief (although for what actually goes into a case, "brief" is really an appropriate name). As far as the all nighter goes, congratulations, that takes some serious effort even while still in college (incidentally, on a reasonably unrelated note, I have officially finished finals for the semester), so take it easy and enjoy your creation that is really taking shape. Always a pleasure to see what you come up with. Get some sleep and good luck with the case.

Ironically, I just spent all night last night writing a paper discussing how the U.S. Supreme Court has interpreted the Commerce Clause for my Constitutional Law final...Anyway, the map looks great with the names everywhere. As someone pointed out, it must take a lot of effort to come up with so many names like that. I'll be waiting to see more!

    Extrordinary!

Really nice work laying out the trees, well thought out indeed. This massive region is really taking shape.

I haven't been online lately, so this is the first chance I've had to congratulate you on a well deseved Trixie! Never had any doubts, me.

So the brief is done and submitted.  At the end, it ran 13 lines over my state's page limit, so I had to file it with a motion begging the Supremes [ linkie ] to forgive me.

Anyway, here is the last placename map- 3RR-NW.

    3rrnwplacenames800mz9.jpg

    And here's one last easy-read version (2,400 x 1,222 px, about 211 kb) [ linkie ].

I'm going to try to get around to all the CJs I enjoy...

...well, strike that- that's pretty much all of them...

...today and do some commenting for the first time in about two weeks.  I'm working on completing the 3RR forests and on the collaboration announcement and solicitation of volunteers.  I will also get at least one more week of the Lists up.  I'll be around here, though, probably tomorrow.

    Later.
