Hi Darmok

It seems that I have missed an update! So sorry - I have had a rather hectic schedule of late. I feel as though I owe you two comments!

Starting with Bruinen Fjord Update 16, I really like the terraforming you did with the different land levels, etc. I think the tiering gives it a much more natural look.  And I really like the pedestrian bridge!  I always forget about those and you did sucha nice job with it by fitting it in with the park trails and the stairs! That little area looks very nice. I also really like how you separated your commercial development from the railroad with that line of parking lots. Which set is that, btw? I think that was a beautiful touch.

Then as for update 17, all those condos look just beautiful in that area! That turned out to be a really nice mix of different density residences. I love how you put them all together like that. But I must say that my favorite shot is the last one with the rain and the lightening, both because it provided such a nice overivew of the whole little area but also because that shot is just amazing.

Great work as always!!!

Nice!  I've missed some.  That retread of the pedestrian route worked out quite nicely!  I really like that cluster of those very tall residentail buildings!  Which ones are those?   I don't actually recognize them.

Beautiful work as always!

I can't believe I've missed so much!  I love your style of playing, you are an excellent city designer!  I really like all the bridges and overpasses you create, and your commercial service areas look outstanding!  I can learn alot by looking at this cj...

Great update again Darkmok, beautiful as always.

At first I didn't catch the very subtle slope to the streets running along the sides of the avenues, and then crossing under, great touch! I also love how the houses have some backyard to them.

The high rises in the center area really add some depth to the picture, as they tower over everything in the area, the views from them would be spectacular.

Finally the storm picture looks great, I've always thought of adding lightning but never thought I could get it looking right due to SC's perspective. Yours looks awesome however, so I'm goign to have to go back and see what can be done 2.gif

Nice update...when I have more time I'm going to have to go back through all *gasp* 109 pages. I will say that I live near Dayton Ohio and we certainly have high rise residential buildings surrounded by low density residential so I saw nothing out of the ordinary. Guess it just depends where you hail from. Also, I really like the stormy weather pic!

Thanks for all your hard work!

I like how you build and showcase your CJ--you do it step by step:

First a school, then a church, then some townhomes, some restaurants--then you zoom out to show an amazing overview of the city that you took the time to carefully build. Great job, Darmok. 48.gif

Oops, sorry I missed that last update. Your residential areas and all your other areas look great with the smooth slopes, retaining walls, and trees. The promenade looks much better, too. I'm looking forward to the next update!

Excellent update Darmok!  One thing I always like about your updates are how they show step by step how you built up an area instead of just showing the final product.  This has taught me (and I'm sure many others) some nice building techniques to apply to our own cities.  Anyways, as far as this update, great residential/park additions, and the road under the bridge was pretty cool.  I'll be honest though, I think the high rise luxury condos look a little out of place, but hey, that's just one person's opinion 4.gif.  Keep up the awesome work Darmok 48.gif!

WOW John. What a couple of beautiful updates mate. This is probably my favorite overall cj to come and visit. In the picture "A school would be nice" there is a road under a maxis bridge. I have a couple of those road under bridge lots myself. But they are NOT Transit Enabled. Is that road TE under the bridge? If it is where oh where did you get it?

Thanks buddy...

Looks great, Darmok.

I like this update, but just a little cosmetic thing I can't help but to be a little picky about: that flash of lightning seems to go back up and down again... that's not possible as far as I know. 3.gif

Other than that, it looks great. Though, are you sure the taller apartments look right right there? It just doesn't quite fit, but you still did a good job.

Hello John!

One busy weekend and immediately I missed two updates ... 21.gif

Nah, it wasn't the final match(es) (if you want to know what I think about the winner of the world cup see GMT's sig ...) - I had a wedding in the family - my wife's younger brother got married. Had been a nice small wedding - small in the meaning of a small TURKISH wedding ... 9.gif

Too bad my mother-in-law's tvset wasn't able to receive the channel that broadcasted the matches ... 14.gif

ok, now for the updates -

Update 15

Nice education area. I just miss the HaDiKo - the only BAT from my university town Karlsruhe ... A friend of mine lived there for some time and I thought about moving in there ... geee, quite some years ago ... I played the first Simcity then ... 47.gif

Hey, where did you find this nice astronomy building? 2.gif

I do love your great pedestrian ways! Great combination of stairs and Jeroni's trails!

And an interesting layout with Jeroni's parking lots and Erdmoebels great W2W-bats!

Update 16&17

Hey, I love that corrected pedestrian plaza with the trail next to the wall, the underpass under the RR (I couldn't make it better!!) and I really like that NAM pedestrian overpass. It is just a pity that there is still a nice set of pedestrian trails missing in the NAM ... (I asked for it two times, still hoping...)

When I see how you developed that res. sector I must confess - I do it the same way ... step by step, waiting how it developes and then going on ...1.gif

The last pic ... is it incidential that the flash hits the police or is this the effect of all those annihilated doughnuts put together in such a small place that they form a slight Blach-Whole-Effect and thus attracting flashings?17.gif

Take care my friend!

Bernhard 44.gif

PS: About the age of my harddisk, you might be right, I guess due to SC4 I never used a harddisk so much in such a short time - although the 20 MB(!!!!) of my old XT (from 1988!!!) is still working ... 30.gif

I missed one update... lack of time...

Update 16:

I like the terraforming, nice "terraces". I also like how you plant trees in between of them. The pedestrian overpass is great! I love it 2.gif

Both the residential sector and commercial looks nice.

Update 17:

I like your medium density residential sectors, I especially mean the fact, they're small and surrounded by trees, I think I might try something similar too...

The high density residential... hm it stands out, that's for sure. But it looks good. It's the same as the two brown residential towers few updates earlier.

Low density sector looks great, church fits really well in there. I also like pic 15.

Photoshopping on last picture is amazing! But shouldn't the lighting hit the new residential towers? They're the highest points there 1.gif

Anyway, great job D.!
