WOW!!!! What a great replacement for the totally useless(in my opinion) monorail. Just a couple of questions though, about the beta release. Can you drag through a tunnel? Will there be a new downtown terminal for just HSR without the other transit networks involved? I dont have any el lines in my CBD, they are subway, plus this will replace my commuter rail so I dont need the Comm rail connection. All the work that has been don to this is truly breathtaking.

well, thx asimov! but my station isn't an exact copy of the original, just very close to the real structure.

and it already has one hsr platform at the second level.

maybe someone from the makers of this hsr-project can help me with the exact hight, 'cause i got different numbers from different sources.

i will continue on working on the station when my new pc is ready to handle that beast (25x9 fields and 57600m² aren't that small)

BerlinDude will help me with the query and basic modding, but i'nt know if he can do the paths etc, so if anyone is able to make a 90° hsr turn above 8 rail-tracks, welcome to my world17.gif

If I recall correctly, it's not possible to cross networks on a lot, unfortunately, which makes that station impossible, as nice as it is. the height of the tracks is something like 15.5m (don't quote me on it though). There's a file on the STEX containing a model of a section of the HSR if you want to check.

Hi

I visited this forum a couple of months ago and i was very excited about this project

I am wondering now how far this project has come. I already downloaded the beta of this i guess and it was quite cool.

Now i am wondering if there are updates on this project?

And could someone explain what STEX really is. In previous messages i read that some things of this project were avaible on STEX. I have no idea what it is.

And i really would like to design some buildings, bridges, trains etc. Can someone explain how this can be done. I'd appreciate that..

Keep the good work up boys

the STEX is the simtropolis exchange, where u go to download various lots and building and all sorts of great stuff from excellent BAT'ers. u need the B.A.T or building architect tool as its long version is called. u also need gmax to make your own custom buildings. the BAT u can download off of simcity.com. u have to be a registered user to DL it. as far as gmax goes u have to go to www.turbosquid.com/gmax to get that. make sure u install GMAX first then the BAT. u also need to register the GMAX program. goodluck and welcome to simtropolis. u will love it here!

on a light note i just had a quick question to the HSRP. why do i have 2 sets of track icons? is there a difference in them or is this a glitch? let me know, thnx

thnx for the help on that one, i was a bit confused on why, lol. i hope others know this as well. is there any harm in leaving it as is? there is no way i'll find the fix for it in 35 pages of replys. and if so, does it matter which one i use? lol. sorry for the goofy questions, just curious. as i said, if i dont have to fix it, im not gonna. it dont bother me that there is 2 sets. thanx again guys for the help and responses. cheers

I have still yet to build a monorail line, it was a really good idea but by the time you have the money to pay for it unless you planned it you have to demolish so much and as this intercity service it dosen't function like that. I think this i s great idea and I hope it works out.

this has probably already been asked, but its hard to find anything within 35 pages. i was wondering why my rail lines are not allowed to cross. when there is no way to have them intersect, there is no way i can use them in my city grid. any thoughts?

So, I haven't been able to locate a support thread, but I thought the Powers that Be in the HSPR world would like to know this...

Yesterday, the game started crashing to desktop if I dragged a HSPR line for more than 7-8 tiles diagonally at a time. So, being a diligent tester, I only left NAM and HSPR in my plugin folder and the problem is still occuring. At first, I thought it was crashing when it crossed an avenue diagonally, so I bulldozed the avenue and it still occurs.

I'm running a bunch of mods, if you'd like some more info please PM me.

Is there any certainty or vague knowledge as to when the project will reach final release?

Yes, both.... the future.

Edit: not to be an ass, but developers of this kinda stuff don't like deadlines.

look at my showcase here

unfortunately i have no render pics of the current version but as i said, i can't work on the station untill i have my new pc.

@cammo2003:

thanks for the answer! if it really is impossible to cross networks like that, it doesn't matter... i would just make the main rails transit and UDI enabled through the whole station and the el-rail and hsr/monorail tracks would end where they would cross the normal rails. so everything would work as it's meant to do 2.gif. no worry there.

Yes, I also have this station, I think it was by Somy,  which integrates both rail and elevated rail, albeit at 90degree angles. That station (Berlin Hauptbahnhoff) would indeed be Sim City 4 possible, and is something that would be absolutely awesome when done. Keep up the great work, we wait with baited breath! I can't wait for the time when monorail and HSR can exist harmoniously side-by-side to save destroying my city networks 2.gif

well, let's see if its possible oder not, after i rendered it... its really not that problem. but still i have another big one:

swamper77 said a few pages back that the trains and the track deck itself are 15.5 meters above the ground, but i made a test-lot and it fits with the rails at 16 meters. I'm a bit confused about it, because swamper did the pathing thing so he must be really certain about that, but as i said, with my test it only fits at 16 meters... i have to know the exact height before i can go on with my station.

Even at zoom 5, the LE only has a tolerance of about .3m, so anything less than this in difference will appear to be equal. Essentially, if you used 15.7m for the track, the range of (approx) 15.4-16.1 would be served, and as there is no difference over the display pixel, it will appear flush.

Remember, even at zoom 5, we only have about 50 pixels per 16m grid square, or .35 m / pixel

If I were you pichu, I would make the station at a given height and make the LOD a little bit beneath the actual view surface (no more than .2m). In the LE, you can raise or lower it enough to make it flush, and the LOD clearance will ensure that the pathing will have some leeway in it.

Pichu0 : Thank you for your attempt to make a Berlin Hpb. for SC4.I've been there for several times, and in my opinion this is the best train station to be seen in Germany nowadays.I hope, you'll get new PC soon, because I can't wait for release4.gif Keep up the good work!

This may have been asked already... But when you make a bridge with the HSR It says that it too low for a ferry; no matter what height. Is this a glitch? or how can I make the ferry able to go under it?

@david1314: thanks for that reply, i'll keep it in mind. your idea with raising or lowering it a bit in the lot editor is good, i haven't thought about that yet. so i decided to make a test-render to see if it works, guess what happened: my system ran out of memory...14.gif. even now with not nearly half the structure done (don't talk about the textures or lightening) my 768mb ram and 1,1gb virtual hdd memory don't seem to be enough34.gif. hope it gets better with 1gb of ddr2-533. if not i have to split it in half.

@zachos-prague: well, again, it's not an attempt to rebuild the real Berlin Hbf. it's just very similar looking. i think you'll like it anyway2.gif

If you use the 'lego' method of assembly in the lot editor, keep those tolerances in mind 2.gif.

It was a botched attempt at this myself why I know this little gem of information 9.gif
